MANCHESTER UNITED ANNOUNCE ROONEY SALE!!

In a shocking and unprecedented move, Manchester United today announced the sale of their top player, Wayne Rooney to German Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich. Manchester United announce that the earlier rumours were indeed true, and that Wayne Rooney was let go of due to irreconcilable differences with the new manager, Sherlock Holmes.

One would have hoped that Manchester United would atleast benefit by the deal by getting Toni Kroos included in the deal, who was said to interest Manchester United a lot, but Manchester United confirm that Wayne Rooney has been sold for cash only, with the sale value approximated at 75 Million $. It is reckoned that Bayern Munich will pay 22.5 Million $ upfront, with the remaining to be paid as installments over 48 months.

ROONEY SOLD!

As we continue to bring to you the chaos that is happening at Manchester United, the latest is that Wayne Rooney has been sold to Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich for 75 Million $. Manchester United's key player for many seasons, Wayne Rooney has been sold, and this move is sending shock-waves across the Premier League. Many managers expressed their disbelief over such a move made by Manchester United, and were of the opinion that Sir Alex Ferguson would have never made such a blunder.

View attachment 416351
Now, a Bayern Munich player.

Early reports emanating from pundits are all of the opinion that Manchester Untied have made a blunder in letting Wayne Rooney go, and that this will hurt their team as well as spoil their chances at retaining the Premier League this season. Manchester United have made the strongest team in the world even more stronger, if that was even possible! There are lots of rumours that F.C Barcelona and Chelsea F.C were also in the fray for Rooney, but it is not clear why Manchester United chose to sell to Bayern Munich. One understands that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is not a happy man, and while he hasn't yet deigned to give us a statement, one would think that that wouldn't continue for long.

Speaking to the media, Pep Guardiola was a very contented man.

"We are very pleased to welcome Wayne Rooney to Bayern Munich. Bayern are a top club, and it makes sense that we'd be getting top players in at the club. This is quite a coup for the club, especially after the procurement of Thiago and Gotze. This shows that we can get top players from any of the top clubs, we are in such a good position.

We wanted to ensure that this deal happened very quickly in order for the price to remain the same, and to stop other clubs from joining in the eventual bidding war that was to follow."

This deal might be the clincher for Pep Guardiola's squad. Already having world class midfielders, superb wingers, a brilliant Goalkeeper and a solid defense, they now have a world class striker to apply the finishing touches to the ball. Bayern Munich, for all purposes, seems like a complete set. However, much depends on Rooney's adaptability to his new surroundings, having never played out of England before. Will this turn out to be a wise deal for a 27 year old? Only time will tell. However, at the moment, it looks like the Bayern Munich boss has got one over his continental rivals, and Manchester United supporters will likely be questioning whether Sherlock really is the right person to be leading the squad.

We tried talking to Sherlock, but he brushed us off, stating he'd be free to talk to us in a couple of hours time. Watch this space as we try to get hold of Sherlock to see what he thinks the future of Manchester United will be, without their star player.

MANCHESTER UNITED ANNOUNCE TWO NEW SIGNINGS! PRODIGAL SON RETURNS TO UNITED!!

Manchester United, in the wake of their sale of Wayne Rooney to Bayern Munich, announced two new acquisitions of players. The two players are Timo Werner of Stuttgart and Paul Pogba of Juventus.

Timo Werner signed for Manchester United from Stuttgart for a fee rumoured to be in the range of 8 Million $.
View attachment 416086

Timo Werner has been Stuttgart's best youngster for the past year, and this time, it is Germany that Sherlock turns his attention to, after getting youngsters from Italy and Spain. And exciting talent, he is fast, has good balance and technique, and can bang in the goals. All this at a tender age of 17. Sherlock wants to fit him right into the first team, and not the youth team unlike his other recent acquisitions. However, for now, it is rumoured that he'll be playing on the left wing, as opposed to upfront.

The next to sign a deal was Paul Pogba, from Juventus.
View attachment 416085

Sources confirm that Pogba was signed for an overall amount of 49 Million $, with 22.5 Million $ upfront, and the rest over 48 months. This ensures that the prodigal son returns to United. Pogba was one of United's most exciting prospects, but due to lack of playing time, he chose to run down his contract and leave on a free to Juventus. However, he was linked with a move back to Manchester City, after becoming unsettled at Juventus, but Manchester United swooped in, agreed to Juventus' demands, and managed to get their man back to Old Trafford. Pogba strengthens United in the key area in the midfield, and getting him will go towards some way in assuaging the United supporters, who were reportedly very worried when Rooney was let go of.

You sold Rooney AND Javier :o Two of my fave players at united

I'm a lifelong United fan, you think they're not amongst my favorites too?;; But for this story, I had to do something like that;; It's all about creating your own identity.. xD Besides, I'm strategising in this save, and I think it'll eventually work out well..

And yes, Rooney did submit a transfer request ingame;; It is almost impossible to convince him ingame, so had to sell him.

Excellent so far mate! Some ballsy moves! Will be watching this one closely

MANCHESTER UNITED BOSS DEIGNS TO GIVE INTERVIEW AFTER SELLING SPREE

After Manchester United did the unthinkable, and sold two of their three main strikers, United boss Sherlock finally found sometime to give us an interview. Read on for excerpts.

First off, Sherlock, it just sounds so unbelievable. Did Manchester United really sell their main strikers, Wayne Rooney and Chicarito? Please do give us the details.
Unfortunately, yes, believe it. Both Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez have been sold for a collective sum of 115 Million $. Rooney was sold for 75 Million $ to Bayern Munich, wherein 22 Million was paid upfront, and the rest over 48 months. Javier moves to Arsenal, for 40 Million $, all of which was paid upfront.

Let's start with the Hernandez transfer first. Why sell to Arsenal, especially after they brought in Ozil? You're strengthening a rival in a key area by doing so..
Well, frankly, you can't always look at it as rivals. Imagine the state we'd be in if Arsene Wenger hadn't sold van Persie to us? He was instrumental in steering us to the title last year. But to get him, we had to ensure that we met their price. It was similar in this situation. Hernandez had a valuation, and Arsenal were willing. In fact, we were indeed reluctant in selling to our title rivals, but Arsenal did pay over 10 Million $ more in order to secure the deal. So overall, we are happy with it.

"He was instrumental in steering us to the title last year." Does that mean you think Hernandez will be instrumental in steering Arsenal to the title this year? Is that why he was sold to your title rivals - some sort of quid-pro-quo?
First of all, I find that statement highly insulting, and I resent your implication. Why would we want anyone else but us to win the title? Don't ever mistake my intentions, I'm a Manchester United man through and through, and will always have the club's best intentions at heart.

How else does one explain the Hernandez transfer then?
It is simple. Let me take you through it, since you seem all too willing to jump to conclusions otherwise. Everyone here loves Hernandez, including me. But everyone will also admit that Hernandez has not been getting the amount of playing time that he deserves. And it is not really by any fault of his too. Just keeping the player, when I'm not able to give them quality playing time is simply not the way I do things. Hernandez is an excellent player, and definitely deserves more playing time than we could give him. But when Arsenal initially made the bid at our valuation of 30 Million, we flat out rejected it. We were reluctant to sell to our rivals, especially for only that much. They immediately increased the bid, and after some negotiation, we arrived at 40 Million, which I felt was acceptable. I then went to Javier and asked him whether he wanted to move. He knew the whole picture, and told me that while he simply loved Old Trafford, more playing time would be beneficial to his World Cup chances. While he wouldn't have opposed the move, had I turned it down, I didn't want him having second thoughts while being here, and taking all things considered, I accepted the deal.

If he wouldn't have opposed the move, then why did you accept it?
Manchester United have always done well for their players, and that is a tradition I always intend to follow to the best of my abilities. We wouldn't be giving the playing time Hernandez deserves, but Arsenal were willing to do so, and they aren't a bad club, so we decided to accept the deal. In the end, Hernandez is happy about the increased playing time, and we are pleased with the amount received, so it's a win-win situation all round.

Now we come to the more baffling one - Wayne Rooney! What happened there?
Well, this wasn't really a happy conclusion. Not all transfers are exactly hunky-dory, and unfortunately, Wayne Rooney's wasn't so. Soon after my taking over at the club, Wayne came to me and stated that he wanted to leave. He stated that he was unhappy with my appointment, and felt the need to seek greener pastures. I tried convincing Wayne that he was a very valued member and that he featured in a big way in my plans, but to no avail. He was very firm on leaving. He immediately submitted a transfer request, but I rejected it..

Go on..
Well, Wayne wasn't too happy with my turning down of his transfer request. He started complaining to his teammates, and was generally unhappy, in a vocal manner. When it didn't stop, I had a chat with his agent. His agent told me that Wayne would consider staying back at United, if only we increased his salary to 400,000 $ a week, after paying off his agent to the tune of 6 Million $. This really irritated me, as there was a better way he could have gone about this, without holding the club to ransom, and causing discord amongst teammates. I decided to place him on the transfer list, without giving in to his demands. I might have, if he's approached me directly, but this roundabout method was disrespectful, and not something which will be appreciated here.

Wayne Rooney - enfant terrible, or misunderstood bloke?

There are reports that Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Chelsea were in the hunt for Rooney..
There were. Our valuation regarding Rooney was quite straightforward. Not a penny less than 75 Million $. But that was different for Chelsea. Chelsea bid only 60 Million $, probably trying to capitulate on Rooney's increasing desire to stay in England. But there was no way we'd even consider it. Chelsea are a main title rival, and if we would be selling Rooney to them, it wasn't going to be less than 90 Million $. When Jose Mourinho publicly went against clubs valuing players too high, Rooney came to me, demanded a move to Chelsea, and threatened that otherwise we'd be keeping an unhappy player at club to disrupt morale. If he'd been respectful earlier, I might've even considered it, but now, there was no way that was happening. I told him to carry on doing his work and left.

How did the Bayern Munich move materialise?
Well, both Bayern and Barcelona met our valuation for Rooney, and both surprisingly had similar terms for payment. It was a toss-up between two top clubs for Rooney. He wanted to join Barcelona, and before I was even considering, his agent came to me and demanded a move for Rooney to Barcelona. That was pretty much it, I had grown tired of Rooney's and his agent's supposed 'right' to order me around, just because I was new. I rejected the Barcelona bid, accepted Bayern Munich's bid, and told Rooney that there was nothing else to do. He could either effect a move to Bayern Munich, or stay in reserves at Manchester United till his contract expired in two years. But once we calmed down, I had a chat with him, and he finally came towards my way of thinking, and agreed on a move to Bayern. If he'd gone to Barcelona, Messi and Rooney would have been fighting for the first team spot, and no player wants that at the age of 27, especially not two superstars, who rightly should be in the first team.

So that was the only reason in selecting Bayern Munich?
Actually, no. In this age of FFP rules, clubs can't go around spending recklessly, more than what they earn. You don't really want to risk a ban from Europe. So, these situations are ideal for me, as it helps me strategise. Selling Rooney to Bayern was a strategic move, that I believe will help the club in the slightly longer run. So no, strategy also played a part in selling Rooney to Bayern Munich. Plus, the money will help in getting in players.

But surely, you've made the strongest team in the world even stronger?
I don't think so, atleast not yet. Wayne has been in England all his life, and Germany is a whole different ballgame. I estimate it'll take around a year or so for him to completely adjust to life over there. It's a new language, new style of play and a new club. In the meanwhile, his performances will drop to an extent, that's a given regarding any player. Bayern may retain dominance over Germany, especially since they seem to like to strengthen by leeching off their rivals, but I highly doubt they'll be able to win the Champions League once again. In the meanwhile, that means we have a chance to trump them in the long run.

What was the reaction of the supporters to these sales?
Well, the supporters were understandably unhappy, but I had to do what I felt was best for the club. I've also received countless mail from supporters who are happy that Hernandez has been sold, since he wasn't getting playing time here. I've also received many letters stating that the club did exceptionally well to receive that much for Wayne Rooney, considering he is 27 years old now. So, at the moment, the supporters are behind me, and I hope to repay their trust with a glorious, successful trophy filled year!

Does that mean you don't harbor Champions League aspirations this year?
Absolutely baseless. Forget aspiring, from what it looks like, we believe we'll be on course to win everything this year. Community Shield, Capital One Cup, English Premier League, F.A Cup and UEFA Champions League. It's time we asserted our position back as Champions.

So you say, but surely that is a fantasy? Given the fact that you've just sold your best players, and you've brought in relative youngsters..
I never said our transfer business was done.. Javier's sale helped us bring in Pogba, who strengthens a key area. We are now mainly looking at young, squad rotation/future players to substitute with our main first team players, in almost all positions except for winging and Right Back. Our core first team is good enough to take on, and win against almost all the top teams in the world at present. And as for a young team, most people still remember the previous World Cup, where a young Germany side stole everyone's hearts and almost won the Cup. Someone has to trust youngsters, and we've always had a strong reliance on youngsters since the beginning..

Why those two positions?
Well, our RB is pretty much done and dusted. I've always felt Phil Jones would do an excellent job at RB, and I've thought about this for a long time. I had a chat with him, and after I pointed out why, he came on-board with the decision too. As for our winging, we have Valencia and Zaha on the right;; Ashley Young and Timo Werner on the left, and Nani is pretty much a brilliant player on both sides. Where would we fit another player in? There were rumours linking us to Nicolas Gaitan, but he's not a player we're considering at the present.

How will you cope without Hernandez and Rooney this season?
Hernandez was a Rotation striker for us, and now that he's moved, Danny Welbeck will be seeing some game time, and we'll be bringing in a younger option upfront too. But our main man upfront will still be van Persie, and no-one can doubt him. As for Rooney, we have Kagawa taking over from him in the hole. He's very creative, the type of game I'm planning will suit his style perfectly, and I'm perfectly confident that he and van Persie will make a lethal combination, firing us up all fronts. We also have Januzaj to take over from Kagawa, and we'll be looking to bring in another younger option, as we don't want him to get burnt out.

Care to take us through your final squad, and from whom you'll be expecting what?
Not at the moment, since we haven't finished our transfer business yet. We posted our thoughts about the squad news digest, and I'll post position-wise thoughts about the team there too, after our transfers are done.

Any final thoughts about Rooney?
I would rather not say anything at the moment. Wayne was a wonderful servant to this club for 9-10 years, and noone can take it away from him. He was also one of the principal reasons we were at the top, and I respect that, so I would rather not make any more comments about it. I would rather the supporters remember him for all he did to the club, and the hard work he put in for us. I wish both Hernandez and him all the very best for their future.

That was the Manchester United manager, giving an interview for the first time after selling his top players. While one may not agree with all of his methods, one thing is for sure, he has left his mark on the team, even if it is by taking away it's top players. He seems to think that this team can win everything this year, and while it may seem like a tall order by some, it remains to be seen if he has some plan for delivering up on his statement. THREE LEAVE MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester United today confirmed that three of their players, Alexander Buttner, Ben Amos and Anderson have decided to leave Manchester United for other pastures.

First to depart, was Alexander Buttner for 7 Million $ to PSV.

View attachment 415283

Buttner joined Manchester United from Vitesse in August 2012 as a potential replacement to Patrice Evra. But he was able to make only 5 appearances for the club, and was by and large sidelined. Not having adjusted to the English style of play, he never reached the potential he was bought for. However, Manchester United did make a small profit from his sale, but by and large, Alex Buttner was invariably not used, and his move was mostly a failure.

Next to depart was Ben Amos, on a free transfer.

View attachment 415282

Ben Amos was a Manchester United youth academy player, and although he has a Club World Championship to his name, he was largely sent out on loan, and was mainly a backup player for United. The entry of David de Gea and Anders Lindegard meant that he would never get much playing time, and as such, preferred to leave on a free for greener pastures elsewhere.

Next to leave was Anderson, for 14 Million $, to Tottenham Hotspurs.

View attachment 415281

Anderson had tremendous potential, and was brought in by Sir Alex Ferguson as a potential replacement to the legendary Paul Scholes. However, Anderson never lived upto the hype while he was at United, and despite occasional good performances, his time at United was largely marred by injuries and inconsistency. The entry of Paul Pogba meant he fell further down the pecking order, and as such, decided to leave the club.

Manchester United wishes to thank the lads for their time at United, and wish them all the very best for their future.

superb story so far some interesting transfers and story lines keep up the good work :D

MANCHESTER UNITED ANNOUNCE ACQUISITION OF THREE PLAYERS

Fresh from the sales of Rooney and Hernandez, and the recent sale of Buttner and Anderson, Manchester United today announced that they had succeeded in getting three more players to don the red jersey, and play in front of the faithful at Old Trafford.

The first to sign a contract was Luke Shaw, who was signed for 37 Million $ from Southampton.

View attachment 415068

Shaw is one of England's most exciting prospects, and looks to be the future Left Back for the National Team. He's highly rated at just 18, and has a long and bright future ahead of him. While he was unsettled in Southampton, there were rumours that Chelsea were looking at him to eventually take over from Ashley Cole, but Manchester United have made most use of the funds available from sales, and signed Shaw for a bargain price. Manchester United confirm that Southampton will receive 19 Million $ upfront, and the rest over 48 months. Southampton will also be due 12 Million after 12 league goals are scored for United by Shaw.

Next to sign a contract was Ezequiel Rescaldani from Velez, for a sum of 3 Million $.

View attachment 415067

Recaldani is a very exciting prospect, and is mainly a Target Striker. He is a similar player to van Persie, and United are looking at him as a Rotation option to Welbeck. Rescaldani's value can be taken as a coup, considering he is very highly rated. Even though he was born in Argentina, he was also eligible for Italy, and the Italy boss moved very quickly to get him to play for the Italy U21's. He's one for the future, and it will be interesting to observe his first season at Old Trafford.

Finally, the other player to sign was Otavio, who was signed for a total sum of 9.5 Million $.

View attachment 415064

Otavio is a very exciting prospect, and is adept at playing in the hole. His performances have not gone unnoticed by Sherlock, and he snapped him up for a paltry sum. However, Internacional would only agree to a structured deal, so United will pay 8 Million upfront, with the remaining over 12 months. Internacional are also owed 2.5K for 10 League appearances, 240K after 50 League appearances, and 9 Million $ after 50 League goals. Goes to show how much Otavio is rated. It is likely that Otavio will get good playing time at United, with only Kagawa as the main first team player for the role. Januzaj and Otavio will alternate with each other, so to prevent the possibility of either getting burnt.

One would have gotten concerned with the recent sales done by Manchester United, but they are bringing players in, and some good, exciting players who could take Old Trafford a long way. Shaw fixes the ever-growing problem at Left Back, where Evra is often erratic and missing defensively, while Fabio is not yet good enough to hold down a first team spot. Rescaldani provides some well needed cover upfront, though at present, he seems a poor replacement for Hernandez. Otavio is an exciting prospect, and it will be interesting to see him and Januzaj develop into first team players.

How on earth do you manage to sell these players for that kind of money!?!? oO)

How on earth do you manage to sell these players for that kind of money!?!? oO)

I've always been able to sell them for that kind of money;; Wayne Rooney is a given, considering his quality. Anderson was sold at a loss;; His value was 25 Million $, but was only able to sell for like 14. Buttner is versatile, and 7 Million $ I felt, was fair. Hernandez at 40 Million $ was a good bargain for me! Thank Arsenal! xD

Wow! Good job! I'm playing with some editor files, with updated transfers, which means Anderson is loaned out to Fiorentina. Came back at the end of the season with 6.50 rating from 50 matches.. Only 5 assist.. Had to sell him for 3.5M to West Ham (Only Valued 5M) to free some wages..

TRANSFER ROUNDUP

View attachment 413854
Arsenal have announced the acquisition of young, talented striker Iker Hernandez for Real Sociedad for a fee of 10 Million $. Iker, although talented, has never been capped at the U21 level for Spain. There is slight discontent that Arsene Wenger overpaid for both of his acquisitions this year. Especially considering the fact that Iker won't be featuring for the first team, but will instead be sent out on loan.

He had this to say, "People have been pointing fingers at us for years, stating that we haven't bought forwards. Well, we have addressed that problem, now, and for the future. As for overpaying, sometimes, you need to overpay in order to secure deals. As long as the club is not held to ransom, I find myself satisfied by it. Iker won't immediately be playing for the first team, but will instead be sent out on loan to Celtic for a year, it'll be a valuable experience for him."

View attachment 413852

Coming to London, Chelsea have announced the acquisition of young Italian star, Domenico Berardi, for an overall fee of 15 Million $, split evenly between Juventus and Sassuolo, who co-owned the player. Jose Mourinho clearly seems to be targeting for the future, as the young striker will be sent back on loan to Sassuolo to gain some valuable match experience, before plying his trade for Chelsea. Berardi was tracked by Arsenal, but they could not free enough funds to get him. Chelsea also announced the purchase of young Slovakian attacking midfielder, David Ivan, for a fee of 7 Million $ from Sampdoria. Chelsea also announced the sale of English fullback Ryan Bertrand to Newcastle for a fee of 5.75 Million $.

Jose Mourinho had this to say, "Yes, we've bought them. We firmly believe they're rising stars, and we want them here at the club. Berardi will go out on loan to Sassuolo for some more match experience." When asked about the sale of Ryan Bertrand, especially since they have less quality in the area, he said "Well, Ryan wasn't going to get much games. We have Ashley Cole, Azpilicueta and Ivanovic for the full-back role, so we're not duly worried. Our defenders can cover, if more than one of them gets injured at a time. Plus, his sale will a small way towards FFP, especially since we're barely toeing the line regards it." When asked about his failure to acquire Luke Shaw, Mourinho said, "We wanted him to continue his career at Chelsea. He would have been a rotation player for a season or two, but after that he would be our main Left Back. But I guess that wasn't acceptable to him, so when Manchester United made an offer, he went there. I have no regrets, we'll always have other players."

View attachment 513960

Liverpool, fresh on the sale of Lucas Leiva to Manchester City for 35.5 Million $, have gone of buying sp ree for midfielders. The common point among all these midfielders is that they're solid defensively. They've bought Blaise Matuidi from Paris St. Germain for 9.25 Million $, Blerim Dzemaili from Napoli for 19 Million $, Mohammed Diame from West Ham for 5.5 Million $ and Claudio Yacob from West Brom for 16 Million $. Perhaps Liverpool felt that the hole created by the departure of Lucas was only possible to be filled by 4 midfielders, while clearly, other areas needed strengthening. Strange piece of transfer business this.

Brendan Rodgers had this to say, "Yes, we have bought four midfielders. This way, we have ample cover at midfield, so that our team won't struggle too much possession should any of our regular midfielders get injured." When asked about the reason why they needed to sell Lucas at all to a rival, he said "Well, we got a good offer for him. And Lucas said he wanted to leave to a bigger club. We felt there was no point in keeping an unhappy player. We'll show him why his decision was a bad one, come the end of the season." When asked about strengthening other areas and if there would be more transfers, he had this to say, "Well, at the moment, we are very happy with our squad, so it is very, very unlikely that we'll move for more players this season."

Manchester United
have been the busiest club this summer in Europe, as new coach Sherlock looks to make his mark on the team left behind by legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Major controversial talking points of Sherlock's regime till now have been the sale of Wayne Rooney for a total outlay of 75 Million $ to Bayern Munich, and Javier Hernandez for 40 Million $ to Arsenal. Other players leaving United were Ben Amos on a free, Anderson for 14 Million $, and Alexander Buttner for 7 Million $.

Manchester United seem intent on utilising the money from sales on youth, as all of United's acquisitions have been youngsters, with the exception of Marouane Fellaini, who was acquired before Sherlock took charge. United so far have bought Alberto Cerri for 1.3 Million $, Mario Pugliese for 1 Million $, Richairo Zivkovic for 857K $, Sergi Samper for 1.8 Million $, Timo Werner for 8 Million $, Paul Pogba for 49 Million $ overall, Luke Shaw for 37 Million $ overall, Ezequiel Rescaldani for 3 Million $ and Otavio for 9.5 Million $ overall.

View attachment 513963

Manchester City, predictably, haven't sold any players, but have managed to get two more in. Joining City will be Lucas Leiva from Liverpool for 35.5 Million $ and Andros Townsend from Tottenham for 13.5 Million $. They will be joining Stevan Jovetic, Alvaro Negredo, Jesus Navas, Martin Demichelis and Fernandinho, all of whom joined City this season. Manchester City, as usual, seem to have little qualms regarding FFP.

Pellegrini had this to say, "Well, the purchase of Lucas was a strategic one, and he'll be an important player for us. A good strong defensive/offensive midfield partnership is crucial to us, and if either Fernandinho or Toure got injured, our season could unravel very fast. Lucas will be strengthening a key area for us. We are very happy with his acquisition, and we got him for a bargain, considering his talent." On the acquisition of Townsend, he said, "Well, Townsend essentially is to provide cover for us at the wings. He's a good player, so we got him rather cheaply. Also, since we generally struggle with the Home Grown rules, Townsend's acquisition can only help us."

Those were the major transfers happening in some of the top English clubs till now. We'll also run you through the transfers happening in major clubs across Europe now.

First, going to Spain, Barcelona acquired Nemanja Matic from SLB for a fee of 18.5 Million $. Jonathan Silva was also purchased by Barcelona for the future, for a fee of 6.5 Million $, with the player being loaned back to the club for the remainder of the season. Barcelona also acquired young and talented central midfielder Koke from Atletico Madrid, for a fee of 19.75 Million $, activating his release clause.

Real Madrid, suprisingly haven't bought anybody else, probably still reeling from shock of the magnitude of the transfer of Gareth Bale for 135 Million $. Instead, they have sold experienced fullback Alvaro Arbeloa to Paris St. Germain for a fee of 4.8 Million $, probably to try whatever they can to comply with FFP, following Mesut Ozil's sale earlier.

Atletico Madrid have sold Koke to Barcelona for 19.75 Million $, and have bought in Sulley Muntari from A.C Milan for 2.4 Million $ and William Kvist from Stuttgart for 8.5 Million$ as his replacements.

Moving to Germany, Bayern Munich were probably the biggest spenders, opting to spend a major chunk of their budget on Wayne Rooney for 75 Million $ overall from Manchester United. Following the signing of Thiago and Mario Gotze, it is unlikely that the German club will attempt to do any more transfers this year, having a mostly completed squad, and try to remain on the safe side of FFP.

Borussia Dormund, on the other hand, decided to invest more wisely. Having sold Julian Scheiber to Bayer Leverkusen for 3.5 Million $, they opted to bring in Sebastian Rode from Frankfurt for 6.75 Million $, Stefan Savic from Fiorentina for 10.25 Million $ and Patrick Pflucke from Mainz for 1.1 Million $.

After selling Marco Hoger to Wolfsburg for 7.25 Million $, Schalke have opted to bring in Marc-Oliver Kempf for 3.6 Million $ from Frankfurt, and Fabian Johnson from Hoffenheim for 1.7 Million $.

In Italy, Juventus have had an eventful transfer window. After having sold Paul Pogba for a total outlay for 49 Million $ to Manchester United and part of Domenico Berardi's ownership to Chelsea for 7.5 Million $, Juventus brought in Davide Santon from Newcastle for 15.75 Million $ and Sergi Darder from Malaga for 1.5 Million $. Juventus now also co-own Alessandro Florenzi, along with Roma, for 17.25 Million $.

The deal for Doria consists of 9 Million $ upfront, with another 800K $ after 50 League appearances and 7.5 Million $ after 50 League goals. Doria, at present is just 18 years old, and while this may seem like a big risk, paying so much of cash for a youngster, pundits have a different opinion. Doria, at the tender age of 18, has already been capped once at the senior level by Brazil. He is tall and imposing in the air, solid defensively, and has a good reading of the game. It is invariable that Doria's value will increase tremendously in the coming years, and it seems like it is actually a shrewd piece of business by Sherlock, in snapping up this youngster for a relatively low fee, in comparision to his ability and potential.
