If you want to Spent money, go for Phil Jones or Hummels

What's wrong with Mertersacker/Vermaelen, they were unreal for me for 2 seasons, both in 7.5 avg rating.

I had Papadopolous though I guess, I tried to play him as much as possible so he'd improve.

I have to disagree about Thiago Silva, his concentration is too low and makes too many costly mistakes, tried him on 3 different saves so far. Go for Ranoccia, Shawcross or Sakho if you can afford him.

shawcross is good and will boost your home grown contingent.
a less well known option could be dante (he's at a german club poss gladbach?) he's mature and while his acceleration isnt great his other stats are amazing!!

im in 2016 and sakho is the best DC in the game along with kompany. cost me about 30 mill in jan of the first year. if not varnae from real is a beast but wont make the same instant impact as sakho or kompany.
