Hi All, I'm new to this forum and I am also looking for a new laptop to play the new Football Manager 2015.
I play with around 16 Nations with 26 Leagues as I like to look for young players from all over.
I have a budget of £500-£800 and I want it to play with at least 3-4 star game speed.

I was going to get one made off PC Specialist or CyberPowerPC

Any recommendations on specs? as I'm not that computer savy :)

Buying husband laptop for FM

Hi can anyone advise me of a laptop for my husband, its to play FM only, I know it needs to have good processor but I'm not into conputers - max budget is £300 - would prefer less if possible.

Thank you

FM really isn't that 'greedy' with resources. If the laptop is solely to play Football Manager, you can pick one up from Argos, Tesco, Currys / PC World for less than £200. I've just had a look around and you won't have any problems with your budget.

Minimum system req's:

•OS: Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8
•Processor: Intel Pentium 4, Intel Core, AMD Athlon XP: 1.6GHz+ V/7/8: 2.2GHz+
•Memory: 1 GB RAM
•Graphics: NVidia GeForce FX 5900 Ultra, ATI Radeon 9800, Intel GMA X3100 - 128MB VRAM
•DirectX: Version 9.0c
•Hard Drive: 3 GB available space

As always, you get what you pay for though if it's being used for anything else.

One tip is to buy on-line. Not only do you get to see far more options without someone breathing over you but e.g.

HP 15-g093sa 15.6" Laptop

•AMD A4-6210 APU
•Windows 8.1
•Memory: 4 GB
•Hard drive: 1 TB
•Graphics: AMD Radeon R3

...from PC World costs £249.99 on-line and £349.99 in-store.

Ryan1990, PCspecalst rocks. V. good forums to ask for advice check your build. "Always spend £5 for the silver warranty". I got rig from there 2 machines ago - ended up wrong side of £1300.

Thank you very much - was in currys today and was told I needed on with the processor and some games thing at £649, but it is solely for FM, won't be used for anything else. Thank you again.

I have a Lenovo G500 and it runs really fast on it

Will this spec be any good for FM please?

Lenovo G50-70 15.6-Inch Notebook (Black) - (Intel Core i3-4005U 1.7 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, …

Hi guys

im looking for a new laptop specifically for FM15 as my current laptop is far too slow. Im looking to have a good 6-8 countries loaded and I'm also looking to run the 3D match engine.

is there anything in particular I should be looking for?

Here is information on a laptop i have my eye on. Will this run FM15 well?

CPU, Memory and Operating System:
Intel Celeron N2830 dual core processor.
2.16GHz processor speed.
4GB RAM.
1000GB SATA hard drive.
Microsoft Windows 8.

Display features:
15.6 inch screen.
High definition display.
Resolution 1366 x 768 pixels.

DVD optical drives:
DVD+RW/DVD-RW (read/write).

Graphics:
Intel HD Graphics.
Shared graphics card.

Thanks

. I have never had a Celeron but I doubt it could run FM smoothly.

depends on the model, I've seen 2955U's running battlefield 4, on lowest of course but was not a bad performance at all. But the N2830 wont handle anywhere near as good as it even though it was launched at around the same price and is about 6 months newer.

lol you know it will be fine, you should have shopped around though because your paying around £150 more than you should be.

Na, I knew graphics wise its good, Wasn't sure about the rest..Im clueless when it comes to that stuff lol And it was buy now pay next year so didnt shop about at all haha

The laptop I'm eyeing up is £450, 16GB memory yet only 2.1ghz processor...I find it astonishing I could fork out that much yet not hit the minimum requirements of a game like FM? Given that I never run the 3D engine and max would have 6 leagues running should it really matter?

I'm not a fan of laptop's for gaming (it doesn't matter for me which game it's).
I highly recommended to get a laptop which includes an SSD on it + the HDD.

Got a MacBook pro with retina screen this weekend and fm runs very nicely indeed

So would a 2.1ghz processor REALLY leave me unable to play FM or am I worrying myself un-necessarily?

CPU power mainly depends on the architecture of the processor and the number of cores. If the pc has 16gb of ram, the processor is likely overkill for fm. You're overly worrying. The processor should be fine.

Edit: That pc is complete and utter overkill for fm. That's like driving a Bugatti Veyron for driving around a school, because you can only do 20.
