It has been confirmed today that David Moyes is to step aside, for former PM Gordon Brown. The move has sent shockwaves across the football world and the pool in Everton's Finch Farm training complex. David Moyes is set to take a senior role behind the scenes at Goodison Park to overlook Brown's tenancy as Everton boss. Mr. Brown believes this could be a springboard towards public approval, if, he can get Everton into the top 3.​

This is my first ever story, infact first ever post on fm-base. I'm going to try and keep it as clear and realistic as possible. I seen people following a guy called Frei with an Everton story? He spent £44.5 million and only generated £22.5 million. You start with £5.25 mill, so how did he get the extra money....anyway thats why I want to keep it clear. Hopefully you can enjoy this story as much as I enjoy it. I've downloaded the "latest transfers" database, so the game includes all the latest transfers of the summer so far. I've played a few games so far but i'll upload them later on today. Going to include screen shots of full transfer history and squad as well.​

Transfers - Ins & Outs​

So, the two biggest transfer ins are that of Ashley Young from Aston Villa, and Hernanes of Sao Paulo. Gordy also wanted a look at John Fleck from Rangers, and signed promising youngsters Gianluca Romiti from Fiorentina, and Alex Smithies from Huddersfield. Other targets included Lacina Traore, Juanmi and Vaclav Kadlec but there were not enough transfer funds.​

Mr Brown is a big fan of Stevie P but an offer of £7.75 million was too hard to resist. Leon Osman, Tony Hibbert and Victor Anichebe were considered surplus to requirements and were sold for a total of £12 million. Diniyar Bilyaletdinov was sent on loan, with his £35,000 a week wages took off the wage bill.​

Good update man. Alex Smithies is a good signing and to get Bilyaletdinov off the wage bill is a big plus, played.

Would have been better if he had taken over his local team, Raith Rovers - I've seen him at Starks Park when the Clyde have visited! Good luck all the same...I expect to see much debt accrued over the next year or so!

Formation & Tactics For The Season

Brown decides on a 4-2-3-1 formation. Big signings Hernanes and Ashley Young feature. Hernanes is told to get forward and support the attacking quartet, whilst Ashley Young is told to cut inside. With Yakubu not being a fantastic target man, Gordy decides against Ashley Young using his pace and feels he will be more effective from inside. The team are generally set to pass short with a slow tempo, and that is how Brown wants his players to play. However he beleives the most significant player could be Marouane Fellaini, who has to protect the back four.

August Results​

Everton 2-1 Newcastle Utd​
Mr.Brown seemed content with the opening day result. New signing Ashley Young got off the mark on his debut, before lone striker Yakubu added a second 24 minutes in. Peter Lovenkrands replyed for Newcastle but it was not enough. MOM went to Roysten Drenthe of Newcastle, a £3.7 million signing from Real Madrid.​

Everton 2-0 Stoke City​
A confident performance from the toffees saw them run out 2-0 winners over a determined Stoke team. Gordon Brown kind of smiled, but looked more interested in reading Raith Rovers results from his paper. Tim Cahill opened his account for the season on 27 minutes with a thunderbolt following a good pass from Marouane Fellaini. After the break Ashley Young cut inside and delivered a fizzling cross/shot, which Thomas Sorensen could only parry into his own net. MOM goes to Tim Cahill after an inspired performance.​

Accrington Stanley 0-2 Everton​
Everton reached the third round of the League cup after a 2-0 win over Accrington Stanley. Gordy picked a youthful side, with first team starts given to the likes of Luke Garbutt, Shane Duffy, John Fleck and Gianluca Romiti. Everton opened the scoring through new signing Jermaine Beckford with a towering header. The lead was doubled by Bootle born Jose Baxter who also headed into the net following a deep cross from Luke Garbutt. MOM goes to Magaye Gueye on his first start following an energetic performance.​

Fulham 2-3 Everton​
Everton came from 2 goals behind to get an important win against a spirited Fulham side. Bobby Zamora scored both goals for the hosts, before Mikel Arteta replyed with what only seemed like a consolation strike in the 29th minute. However, Ashley Young equalized with his 2nd goal in three games before half time with a well placed header. After the break, Brown decided to go 4-4-2 to get that all important goal. Before the changes could be made, man of the moment, Tim Cahill expertly exploited space in behind Aaron Hughes before scoring a low drive into the far corner. Everton sat back and claimed a good result that seen Gordy's stock rise with the Everton faithful. MOM is Bobby Zamora after his two, well took goals.​

Nicely done, unbeaten in the league and a fantastic pre-season without leaking a single goal. Tactics look strong with 12 points out of 12 so far, well played against Fulham, might come off as a much needed result at the end of the season, enjoying this. 8-|

Unfortunately I didn't get 3 points for beating Accrington Stanley in the League Cup! I'll have to make that clearer. Thanks for following.

Cheers! Trying to improve it all the time, i don't want to do loads of writing, i think that can get a bit boring at times so i'm trying to keep it short and sweet. ;)
