Gump out - The Tale of Inexperienced Manager

December

Matches

Newcastle - Chelsea
2 - 1
(Mata)

Not good, not good at all as we failed to win the Toons in their territory. Totally sloppy performance with Newcastle deserving the win as they bossed the whole game. Complacency...

Champions League Group Stages

Chelsea - Ajax
1 - 2
(Mata)

Another lost game, but we were highly unlucky as we created some good chances, but failed to make the most of them. Ajax gets the glory today..

Everton - Chelsea
1 - 2
(Ramires, Mata)
- John Terry injured

A tough fixture away and Everton caused us loads of problems, but defense was solid and attacking department worked as it should. John Terry getting an injury again and losing him is always a blow...

Club World Championship Semi Final

Okayama FC - Chelsea
1 - 2
(Torres x2)

We dominated the game as we should and jet lag was nowhere near to be seen, even if we only managed to score 2 goals, courtesy of Torres. Scoreline doesnt reflect our performance as Okayama were totally below our level...

Club World Championship Final

This is it, the final of this competition and now we just have to bag it and bring it home. We are the favourites against Corinthians, but they wont let us win it easily. The boys need to show their class in this game...

Chelsea - Corinthians
1 - 0
(Torres)

And we've won it, though it wasnt exactly the greatest performance and Corinthians gave us a proper fight. Our finishing wasnt of the greatest, but Torres managed to score a cheap goal as their goalkeeper passed the ball straight to him and Torres didnt have a hard task to shoot into an empty net. We won it with luck, but who cares, that doesnt show up in the scoreboard...

Best Player of the Tournament
1. Fernando Torres - 2 games, 3 goals - Rating 8.15
2. Eden Hazard - 2 games, 1 assist - Rating 7.30
3. Petr Cech - 2 Games, 0 conceded - Rating 7.35

Truly deserved for the much maligned Torres to be the Best Player of the tournament and Im sure he will get loads of confidence from that, eventhough his problems have seemed to vanish and he has started to look like the striker he was before he signed with Chelsea...

Chelsea - Arsenal
1 - 1
(Sturridge)
- Bertrand sent off

Well this comes down to jet lag as we werent near of our best, but still managed to get a draw on our homesoil. Daniel Sturridge getting his first goal in Premier League this season, but he is still having problems with his lack of playing time. I might have to offload him during the coming January transfer window...

Chelsea - Man City
4 - 2
(Torres x2, Poli, Lampard)

Great and important win over title rivals as we put them back into their place again with a 4 - 2 result. Torres scoring two superb goals and Victor Moses being Man of the Match with 3 assists...

Reading - Chelsea
1 - 3
(Oscar, Hazard, Bertrand)
- Petr Cech injured

Good win from boys as The Royals were brushed aside, but this win was overshadowed by the injuryof our first-choice goalkeeper Petr Cech. The injury seemed to be in the hand and initial physio analysis indicate it could be bad one...
