CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Arsenal 6 - 0 Locomotiv Moscow
Eboue (7, Pen 71)
Yobo (35)
Ozil (39)
Walcott (68)
Bendtner (81)

Comfortable win for the lads today which in which they flexed their attacking muscles a bit. Nice to see some of the attackers getting on the scoresheet again. 3 wins from 3 in the groupstage so far which should see us go through top.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Arsenal 4 - 0 WBA
Walcott (3, 7, 42)
Eduardo (91)

Theo celebrates his first half hatrick

Another good performance and another cleansheet. Walcott hit a first half hat-rick and continued his great form. He is really banging in the goals this season.

LEAGUE CUP 4th ROUND

Man City 1 - 0 Arsenal
Barry (54)

Not too disappointed as I took the opportunity to give some of the younger players a run out, with a big premier league clash coming up in just a few days. We had our chances and on another day the result might have been different.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Chelsea 1 - 1 Arsenal
van Persie (84)
Zhirkov (92)

Chelsea+v+Watford+FA+Cup+3rd+Round+LUS5miK7QJbl.jpg

Lampard and Zhirkov celebrate last gasp equaliser.

An even game ended all square after Zhirkovs late late late stoppage time equaliser. Van Persie give Arsenal the lead pretty late on in the game and Arsenal looked to have stolen all 3 points, however, Zhirkov had other ideas and he capitalised on a poor kick from Frey to level the game late on. Would have taken the draw before the game so not too disappointed at all.

Pretty tight at the top but we are still well in the main bunch. Played some tough away fixtures which we can hopefully win the return fixtures, it's far too early to be saying who is going to win the league at this stage though!

Yes , you've started it again ! :)

Yep, couldn't get into any other game so thought I would give this a go again :)

Thanks mate, means a lot! I am using my own tactic, its a sort of 4-1-1-3-1 with lots of creativity and flair in the attack. It came 7th out of about 50 in the tactics tested on this site which was very pleasing! If your interested in a download let me know and I will upload.

glad that you are back buddy :)

Thanks mate :)

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Arsenal 2 - 0 Shakhtar
Arshavin (10)
Yobo (79)

Another comfortable win in the Champions League groupstage which sees Arsenal top the group on a fantastic 18 points. Arshavin and Yobo on the scoresheet again, both have been in great scoring form so far this season. Locomotiv Moscow qualified from the group with Arsenal with just 6 points.

Gibbs, Ramsey and Vermalen all ruled out for 3 weeks after Shakhtar games. The backup players were brought into the first team for this game to give some of the key players some rest ahead of the upcoming World Club Championships.

In-form Arshavin celebrates another hat-rick for Arsenal

Another breath-taking perfromance from Andrey Arshavin as he got himself another fantastic hat-rick. The russian has been one of the best players on the planet this last year and is a candidate to claim the World Player of the Year award.

WORLD CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINAL

Pohang Steelers 0 - 3 Arsenal
van Persie (35)
Yobo (49,73)

Arsenal cruise into the Final of the Club World Championships after another great performance. Arsenal look solid at the back at the moment and are providing the goals on tap.

FINAL

Estudiantes 0 - 5 Arsenal
Arshavin (4, 30, 51)
Bendtner (57)
Jovetic (81)

Several players were rested ready for the return to the Premier League against Wolves on Saturday, but Arsenal still had enough to smash five without reply past a poor Estudiantes side. Arshavin continued his rich scoring form and took his tally up to 18 goals by mid December.

Arsenal added another trophy to the cabinet with a fantastic performance in the Club World Championship.

  • Arshavin named player of the tournament
  • Yobo named runner up
  • Walcott claims 3rd place
Premier League

Arsenal 1 - 0 Wolves
Arshavin (53)

A good performance from Arsenal but the goals didn't come as usual today. However, with their defense in such good form one goal was always going to be enough, and Arshavin provided this in the early stages of the 2nd half. Wolves offered nothing in the way of attack and Arsenal continue their unbeaten run, as well as notching up their 6th successive Premier League victory.

ARSENAL DRAW ZENIT ST. PETERSBURG IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
Arsenal will face a first leg away trip to Zenit on the 16th February in what promises to be an emotional return for Arshavin. The other ties are:

Villareal v Tottenham
Sporting Lisbon v Real Madrid
Locomotiv Moscow v Barcelona
Sevilla v Bayern
Basel v AC Milan
Inter MIlan v Chelsea
Benfica v Man United

PREMIER LEAGUE

Arsenal 5 - 0 Everton
Ozil (20)
van Persie (55, 88)
Jovetic (58)
Walcott (63)

robin_van_persie_1249783c.jpg

Possibly the best performance of the season saw Arsenal destroy a strong Everton side. Arsenal came out firing in the second half netting 4 goals, against an Everton side sat in 4th, with Champions League aspirations.

GALLAS TOLD HE CAN LEAVE
Arsenal manager Jake Hopper today angrily reacted to Gallas' request for first team football. Hopper told the player he was not good enough to make the bench let alone the first team and will be transfer listed immediately for attempting to cause friciton in the squad. It looks as if Gallas will be leaving Arsenal in the up-coming transfer window, and there are rumours that Eduardo may be joining him with Hopper expressing an interest in forwards such as Dzeko, Hulk or Aguero.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Sunderland 0 - 1 Arsenal
Song (5)
Torrado Missed pen (89)

Hopper celebrated his 100th game in charge of Arsenal with a good win over Sunderland. Torrado had the opportunity to level the game late on through a penalty but Frey made an outstanding save down low to his left.

Frey has now played 721 minutes without conceding a goal, a fantastic record from the new keeper at Arsenal.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Arsenal 0 - 0 Fulham

A far from dull game ended all square as Arsenal couldn't take the many chances they created. This draw may show the need for a different type of striker as Bendtner was not on his game when brought on. A striker with a bit of power and strength could help Arsenal expand their attacking talents further still.

LEAGUE TABLE

Arsenal sit 2 points clear of chasers Liverpool and Chelsea at the half way stage. The main reason for Arsenal's fantastic form is their defensive displays, conceding just 5 times in 20 games, whilst scoring on average 2.5 goals per game. If they can keep this form up, the chasing pack will struggle to make up the points needed.Top Goalscorers

Good month mate, Unbeaten!! Arsenal looks a really fun game. May start a game soon. Playing with Valencia now though :) Keep going mate, doing very well.

JANUARY

  • Hopper named Manager of the month for December
  • Arshavin claims 3rd place in Player of the month
  • Walcott wins Young Player of the month
  • Jovetic comes closely behind in 2nd

  • Arshavin named 3rd in World Player of the Year Competition
After a fantastic season and a half, Arshavin has been named in 3rd place in the World Player of the year award. Aguero scooped first place slightly ahead of Tevez, but Arshavin was said to be delighted to have been considered amongst the top players in the world right now.

ARSENAL ANNOUNCE CAPTURE OF RIBERY
Arsenal have today annoucned that they will be gaining the fantastic talent that is Frank Ribery come the end of the season. A contract has been agreed between the player and club for him to sign for Arsenal on a free transfer after not wishing to re-new his deal with Bayern. Ribery will give Arsenal more options in attack and some more experience to go along with the very young squad Arsenal have.

FA CUP 3RD ROUND
Plymouth 1 - 2 Arsenal
Walcott (5)
Traore (24)
Sarasola (44)

A close win for Arsenal in a game which manager Jake Hopper opted to give some of the youth and reserve players a run out. The team was still to strong for Plymouth and the margin could and perhaps should have been more.

PREMIER LEAGUE
Middlesborough 1 - 0 Arsenal
Eagles (51)

Arsenal's unbeaten run has finally come to an end after 42 games. This is a game they would have had down as a definite win but the lack of firepower up front due to injuries left the fans devastated. Arsenal are said to be currently in the market for a new striker and it is much needed as evidenced by this display!

TRANSFER NEWS

Arsenal have had a busy 48 hours in the transfer market with the capture and departure of several players. Most notably amongst these is the sale of Nicolas Bendtner, who has moved to Newcastle for a fee thought to be around £12.5m. Also leaving was William Gallas, who has moved to Bordeaux for just £500k and Denilson who was purchased by Zenit, Arsenals opponents in the next round of the Champions League, for a fee of £10m. Bright prospect Aaron Ramsey has moved to Porto on loan to the end of the season in order to gain more first team football and experience, as he was struggling to break into the Arsenal first team but was still very much in Hopper's plans for the future. Finally, Eduardo has left the club on loan for the rest of the season, for a fee of £750k, he moves to Ukranian outfit, Shakhtar. They can purchase Eduardo for £8m at any point of this loan deal.

Coming into the club are 2 new strikers, 1 a bright prospect for the future and another who comes with a heavy transfer fee after a fantastic season so far. The youngster who joins is Wellinton Silva, an 18 year old Brazilian striker from Fluminese, who joins for £3.5m

The second is a household name amonsgt football fans, Edin Dzeko. The powerful striker is said to be just what Arsenal have been lacking in recent weeks and will certainly provide some more firepower up front. The 24 year old Bosnian striker joins from Wolfsburg for a whopping fee of £29.5m, and the pressure is already on him from Arsenal fans to live up to this pricetag.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Stoke 1 - 4 Arsenal
Jovetic (16)
Fabregas (30)
Djemba-Djemba OG (41)
Riki (51)
Walcott (66)

A good bounce back after the defeat to Middlesborough and I think the Arsenal players must have had a bollocking after that poor performance. This and the imminent arrival of Dzeko and Silva motivated the attacking players into a much better performance, after seeing that Hopper is not afraid to buy or sell if players are not performing well.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Man City 1 - 0 Arsenal
Adebayor (18)

emmanuel-adebayor.jpg

Adebayor celebrates what turned out to be the winning goal against former club

Arsenal old boy Adebayor gave Man City a priceless win which puts them right back in the title challenge. Arsenal were probably the better team over the 90 minutes but with Ozil, Arshavin, Walcott and Jovetic all missing through injury, they really struggled to find that killer pass. 2 defeats in 3 games after such a promising start to the season will hurt Arsenal, and they will need to turn this form around if they are to retain their title.

FA CUP 4TH ROUND

Arsenal 3 - 1 Man City
Santa Cruz (9)
Van Persie (17)
Wellington Silva (21)
Jovetic (56)

Arsenal got revenge for their defeat just days later as they trounced Man City at The Emirates. Despite going a goal down early on, Arsenal fought back superbly and should have piled more past Man City today. Silva got a goal on his debut for the club, starting on his own up front due to the large number of injuries in the squad at the moment.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Arsenal 2 - 1 West Ham
Dzeko (21)
Jovetic (43)
Tosic (64)

A goal for Dzeko just 21 minutes into his Arsenal debut was enough for the fans to take an instant shine to him. The ball was whipped in from Traore on the left and Dzeko powered in a header, the kind of goal Arsenal have been missing in recent times. West Ham fought back late on but it was too little too late in the end and Arsenal secured the 3 points.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Arsenal 2 - 0 Blackburn
Dzeko (27)
Gibbs (61)

Another game and another goal for Dzeko, his 100% record for Arsenal continues. If he carries on scoring this way then he is going to be a fan favourite in no time. Arsenal are picking up their form again at the right time, with a London derby against Spurs, away trip to Anfield and the away leg of the Champions League knockout rounds next month.

LEAGUE TABLE

Arsenal have opened up a small lead at the top of the table now and the chasing pack must be wondering what they have to do to catch Arsenal. The goal difference is fantastic, far better than anyone else in the league.

FEBRUARY

  • Traore named 3rd in Young Player of the Month award
PREMIER LEAGUE

Arsenal 0 - 0 Tottenham

A drab game where not many chances were created by either team. A draw was probably a fair result in the end but Arsenal will see this as 2 points dropped in the quest for the retention of their Premier League crown.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Liverpool 1 - 1 Arsenal
Dzeko (36)
Benayoun (86)

969727-yossi-benayoun-liverpool.jpg

A tactical error from Arsenal allowed Liverpool to ****** a point from this game. 1-0 up and crusising to victory, Arsenal sent no less than 7 players up for a corner and paid the price as they were hit on the break. Benayoun was through one-on-one and slotted the ball past an outraged Frey, who couldn't believe what his players had just done.

INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY

Tunisia 0 - 2 Brazil
Neymar (66)
Diego (90)

A first international goal from Neymar was enough to break the deadlock in this encounter. Tunisia set the stall out to defend from the start and looked like they must just ****** the draw but the young Brazilian, held in the highest of regard by manager Jake Hopper, grabbed his first internation goal.

FA CUP 5TH ROUND

Arsenal 4 - 0 Walsall
Wellington Silva (28)
Traore (59)
Agbossoumonde (83, 86)

Comfortable victory for a much changed Arsenal side. With an upcoming Champions League tie against Zenit, Hopper showed faith in youngsters and backup players, and it paid off. Hot prospect, Agbossoumonde, an 18 year old Central Defender, netted 2 headed goals to put his name on the lips of many Arsenal fans.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE KNOCKOUT ROUND 1

Zenit 0 - 2 Arsenal
Walcott (48)
Dzeko (65)

Arsenal look like they will be sailing through to the next round after picking up a great win away from home against Zenit. Dzeko continued his scoring form of scoring with every start for Arsenal, but his fitness is an issue at the moment and he isn't able to play more than 1 game a week. Hopefully this will improve moving into the important end of season games, as he is clearly going to be playing a big part in Arsenal's success, or lack of.

PREMIER LEAGUE

W.B.A 2 - 4 Arsenal
Van Persie (4, 54)
Wood (8, 80)

Yobo (39)
Dzeko (86)

A really exciting game today at the Hawthorns as Arsenal clinched a 4-2 win. Wood was excellent as the lone striker for WBA but his performance wasn't good enough to earn anything for WBA, due to their shaky defense. Main strikers Dzeko and RVP were both on the scoresheet which is great for Arsenal.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Arsenal 5 - 0 Newcastle
Krul O.G (23)
Walcott (30, 71)
Ozil (58, 85)

Arsenal smashed past Newcaslte to pick up an important 3 points here at the Emirates today. A very unfortunate Krul gave Arsenal the lead as a RVP shot fired back off the post and hit him in the back, bouncing into the net. This opened the floodgates for Arsenal and they romped home to an impressive 5-0 win, letting the title contenders know they mean business!

Good signings , especially in Dzeko, best striker in the game ! Also unlucky on losing your unbeaten streak, it was a brilliant run though!
