Holiday Mode Verses Instant Result Verses Simulated Result Verses Playing the Game.

In this thread I will test the same tactic with the same team using the following 4 ways of playing:

Holiday Mode: I will load up the tactic to all 3 slots and then go on holiday for the season ticking the always use selected tactic option.

Instant Result: I will play using an Instant Result Skin and always use the "Instant Result" option.

Simulated Result: I will play using an Instant Result Skin and always use the "Simulated Result (No Match Plan)" option.

Playing the Games: I will play through the season normally watching all the games.

Sounds interesting. Playing the game would get best results I think but it'd take a lot longer than just holidaying or instant resulting!

That's cool Will1981. I did some holiday vs instant results tests too. I don't know why but on holiday I get a bit better results than on instant results. It seems the assistant manager knows better what to do on some situations.

For example:

It was 3 seasons with holiday vs 1 season with simulated match. We get less numbers on CCC when on holiday because of the *** manager changing tactics.

IMO the poll would have been better if you didn't have 'Play the game yourself' option. I feel a human who knows how to tweak settings will always be better than auto-modes, but since the discussions on these forums right now is about instant result/simulated vs playing yourself I wanted to select 'instant result' as it gives me the 2nd best results.

I've tried Simulated results, and it has been terrible.

In the OP 4 methods are described, but there are holiday mode v5 in your chart. What's that?

I think all of them are holiday, 5 seasons

I guess it's still the same testing method and it just shows how random your result might be if you test only for 60 matches, just look 125 pts vs 95 pts.

So if you want to test anything in FM you need to test for no less than 300 matches.

all that proves is how bad holiday mode is I would be very shocked is there was that much of a variation in any of the other 3 methods.

yes but not the underdog one its the original one.

Could you provide the link for the original one for me please? I would like to test a bit too. One thing I noticed on the underdog version at least is that Consistency isn`t 20 for all players, that adds some randomness to the game too
