I believe that the effect of O'neill leaving is due to everything happening now. The squad adapted well to his rigid-style play, but are currently finding it quite difficult to adapt to Houllier's style of play, making it even harder for them to motivate themselves.
Although I'm furing with rage after each match (apart from Chelsea and the wins), I believe Houllier's knowledge of the squad will improve, as well as the squad adapting to Houllier's style. I'm glad that he is staying, but I hope i'm not being too ambitious by thinking he will be greta next season.
