Real Betis have hired me now, post my departure from Chelsea. Hopefully things work out well there. And hopefully we are there for a longer period.

We have made our first signing for Real Betis in the January transfer window. And it is Jaime Penedo from Dinamo Bucharest on loan.

Game no. 20 in La Liga this season

Real Betis beat Alaves 1-0. And we climbed out of the relegation zone. A lot of aspects of the performance pleased me, the defending was good, the quality of passing by the midfielders was great and Ruben Castro converted a penalty in the 82nd minute to help us beat Alaves. Hopefully this is the start of a good run of form.

Jonas Martin has left Real Betis for 1.1 million pounds to go to Benfica. He said he wanted to leave as he was getting a chance to play in the Champions League at Benfica. Best of luck to him in his career.

We have made our second signing. And it is Javier Saviola. The veteran striker. He has a combined role of Under-19 manager and player. Hopefully he can score a few goals for our side.

Juanma, one of our strikers has gone on loan to Cornella. Hopefully the loan deal will be beneficial for both the club and the player.

Game no. 21 in La Liga
We drew against Deportivo La Coruna. The score was 2-2. We started off the game really well with Felipe Gutierrez and Antonio Sanabria scoring the goals. But then Juan Villar gave away a penalty through which Faycal Fajr scored and then at the end of the game Joselu scored to make it 2-2. There were lot of bright sparks in the game, it would have been nice to get a win but a point is a point. A little disappointed, but I will take it. And yes we have to continue improving.

Our 3rd and final signing this window is Mario Risso. A Uruguayan centre back. Hopefully he does well for us.

Petros has been sold to Porto for 4 million pounds. Hopefully he does well there and best of luck to him.

Alex Alegria has gone on loan to Las Palmas. Hopefully he does a good job there and comes back stronger next season.

Game no. 22 in La Liga this season.
It was a 2-1 loss to Real Sociedad. We were decent in the game, Antonio Sanabria scored early for us. But then Imanol Agirretxe and Carlos Vela scored the goals that helped Real Sociedad win. Asier Illarramendi got sent off in this game. We played well and lost and we should have got something from this game. Also Felipe Gutierrez picked up an injury and will be out for 2-3 weeks.

Game no. 23 in La Liga.
We played against SD Eibar and got a 2-1 win against them, due to Ruben Pardo's sensational goals. We played quite well, without fear and we looked comfortable in the game. It was a good win and an important win. Also Juan Villar picked up an injury that will keep him out for 3-5 days.

Game no. 24 in La Liga
Real Betis beat Granada 3-1. Another comfortable performance, the only time I was genuinely scared was when Granada scored first from their only shot on target. But then Nahuel Leiva stepped up and scored the winning goals and there was also an own goal by their goalkeeper Rui Silva which made sure we get the three points.

Game no. 25 in La Liga
Atletico Madrid beat Real Betis 3-1. The players grew in the game as the game was going on, but it was too late to make an impact to get any points out of it. Felipe Gutierrez scored a consolation goal. We looked okay, surprisingly. Atletico Madrid were so clinical and that made the difference as Augusto Fernandez and Kevin Gameiro scored the goals. Also Mikel Merino scored an own goal. While the score was 3-1, this was not a 3-1 game. We need to get a win again to boost our survival hopes.

Game no. 26 in La Liga
Real Betis drew 1-1 against Osasuna. It was quite a good game. Both sides had their chances. Josep Sene scored the opening goal and till about the end of the game it appeared like we were going to lose. But Ruben Pardo's sensational strike helped in leveling the scoreline to 1-1. On to the next game. Hopefully we perform well.

Game no. 27 in La Liga
It was a 2-1 loss against Espanyol. We played okay. Nahuel Leiva scored in the 6th minute to give us an early lead. And then Jose Antonio Reyes and Leo Baptistao scored to help Espanyol win. We should have got something out of this game but then we didn't. Also Dani Ceballos picked up an injury which will keep him out for a couple of days.

We also paid some money to Brondby IF. This was regarding the Riza Durmisi transfer.
