My attempt last year at a 4-6-0 failed miserably, but one thing I thought of was that you could have the AMC mark one of the CB's, this means he will close him down, but also stay in the area a striker would usually be when the opponents have the ball.

When you get the ball, he will drop of into the AMC position again, its a slightly pointless thing, but I hope it helps.

Thats quite a good idea, might put pressure on the CB that way and force him into a wrong decision.

I think I might give the invincible tactic a go actually, just read an article on the formation and it sounds brilliant!! I was a bit young at the time to understand the tactical side of that team, so its nice to look back on it now.

Haha, has the 4-6-0 been the bane of yor life before as well then? I figured, which is why it'd be a good challenge.

tried and failed, been haunting every waking hour of my life :P

the 4-6-0 is the holy grail of tactics my friend

I have had success with a 460 at bigger sides, but you really do need the elite player in the AMC/Treq role. I have had success with Messi and Silva in that role, but the success could also be a product of the supporting talents.

I don't like to see if a tactic works with a big team first. I like to see if I can elevate a mid-table team, and if it does that then usually it works with the bigger sides too.

Been thinking about giving the Hungary of the early 50's a go.

I have experimented with 460 a bit by simply pulling the striker in 451 back to the AMC position in some games. Has worked to some extent with good pacey wingers as inside forwards.

Currently thinking about the 343 and it's variations that are currently becoming more and more popular.

I'm going to try to make a succesfull 4-6-0 with my Manchester City save. I'll keep you up-to-date...

That Hungary 50's tactic is very hard to get right especially with a small team, would be awesome if someone succeeded!

What about Brazil's magic box formation that must of been a innovative tactic at the time?

It is indeed! I'll write up about that eventually in my history of tactics thread. And already been trying to create it.

Which one though the 1982 with Zico, Socrates who both played as AM's with 2 MC's behind them, then there is a later one with 2 MC's with 2 DM's behind them.

Never played it always wanted to
