Inter started off the new year away to struggling Verona , Miller said he had hoped his team would start the new year the way they want to finish it.

Millers message seemed to have landed and Inter commanded the game with a comfortable 3-1 win with Pizarro netting the first from a scramble in the box and the peruvian was there to slot home. Nemanja Vidic then double the Nerazzuri lead with a bullet header from a hernanes corner. 9 minutes later verona sealed there own fate when Donati was red carded for a reckless challenge. on the 79th minute Hernanes who was outstanding then side footed home to make it 3 for the black and blue and Juanito Gomez scored a late consolation for Verona.
After the match Manager Miller was quoted as saying that his side believe they can make this a season to remember the fact that they are still unbeaten in the domestic league but find themselves 4 points off Juve The Manager then said he hopes that Inter can turn there draws into wins to chase down Juve.
Next up for Inter was bottom of the league side Sassuolo..

Inter took the lead after just 3 minutes when palacio was able to tap into an open goal with a square ball from Danillo D'ambrosio, Inter then conceded a shock goal when floro flores found the net from a corner. D'ambrosio who has sign the arrival of Ignazio Abate put his starting place under contention ..the italian full back then done himself no harms scoring a rocket into the top corner from 25 yards to give inter the lead again. second half and Inter scored again when CB Juan Jesus headed home a Hernanes corner , D'Ambrosio day was not done when he swung in a delightful ball for Hernanes to head home which ment the right backk had two assts and one goal not bad going. Stefan Savic then scored his first goal for the club with a powerful header which crashed off the post and in to give Inter a 5-1 won
After the match manager said that D'Ambrosio had given him a lot to think about with his excellent display

Miller has said that his minimum expectation for the Inter side is to reach the final of the Cup competition as he believes this could be a key piece of silverware this year and can be a springboard for next years challenge on all fronts.

Inter saw this game last 120 minutes something that manager Gavin Miller would not have been happy with as he had named a full strength side but he conceded that as long as they are in the competition that is all that matters. Danillo D'Ambrosio seems to have got the message with the signing of Abate and finds himself on the score sheet again. but Emaneul calaio found the net for Catania with a defensive mix up with Dodo and Juan. Extra time seen a great strike from Freddy Guarin give Inter a lead and a late goal keeping mistake from catania keeper Leali assured Inter's place in the next round.
Back to league Duty and Inter had Palermo at home in another game where nothing but a victory would do...
That's what they got with Mauro Icardi opening the scoring from an Ignazio Abate cross

Then new signing Abate then scored his first goal for Inter with a good one two with Alvarez to slide under the palermo keeper for his first goal since the switch from AC which is sure to have down him the world of good with the Nerazzuri faithful

Back to the Coppa Italia and Inter had a difficult match with Lazio away and that task looked even harder when after only 3 minutes they were behind, Lazio then switched formation to make it hard to break down , It took inter until the 88th minute to finally break them down when young croatian Mateo Kovacic found the net with a thunderous drive low into the bottom corner

Extra time again and a triple change made to freshen things up seen Pizarro , Januzaj and Guarin enter the fray and two of them linked up to send Inter through when Januzaj delicately slide pizarro through for the Peruvian to score yet another crucial goal for Inter Milan. The win seen Inter qualify for the first of the two legged Semi's against the other side of Rome against Roma

Back to Serie A and Inter Milan find themselves looking to secure there challenger status with a potential victory over Napoli cementing that chain of thought.
Rafa Benitez Napoli side currently 9 points behind Inter in 6th were out for Revenge after Inter's win away to Napoli at the start of the season.

The game started very evenly and both sides went in at half time at 0-0 and no shots on target , and half time Inter made 3 changes due to tired legs from the 120 minute game against lazio which seen both full backs changed and the injured guarin coming off.
and after his first touch Hugo Campagnaro was clattered unconscious by napoli attacker Michu which seen Inter down to 10 men and no subs available... only 9 minutes later and stefan savic was forced to come off with a suspected torn calf muscle
9 men Inter then seen them concede with only 13 minutes to go vargas put Napoli ahead but in the 85th minute Brazillian Hernanes then made it level with a fabulous free kick the drama was not over in Milan as Napoli then took the lead again when Dries mertens scored to seal the game for Napoli and to round things off for a bad day a shot from michu deflected off Hernanes to make it 3-1 napoli in the 95th minute

After the Match manager Gavin Miller stated he was proud of his side and it took a two man advantage to the opposition to finally end his 19 game unbeaten run. Miller also admitted this had almost ended there title hopes as Juve were now 7 points clear at the top.
4 days later Inter were straight back in action away to Atalanta and with anticipation on how Inter would react to there first defeat of the season the pressure was on Inter to bounce right back

It took all of two mins for the pressure to be relieved when young striker Mauro Icardi put them ahead with a clinical finish inside the box and 17 minutes the argentine doubled his goal tally. Atalanta then hit back immediately with a goal from top scorer German Denis. Diego Contento then done his hopes of a permanent move no harm by rifiling in a shot to the bottom corner.

with 2 days left before the close of the Window Miller has confirmed that Inter are still looking for new players and have been linked with a move for Brazillian Leandro Damiao , He is quick , Powerful good in the air and clinical and has youth on his side he could be an asset for us ... Can we bring him in ..Let's wait and see
