Ipswich manager Packie O'Flynn and Tractor Boy's attacking midfielder Romain Amalfitano have picked up December's manager and player of the month awards respectively. Amalfitano today completed his permanent switch to Portman Road for a fee of £500,000 from relegation-threatened Newcastle.

Skipper Carlos Edwards came closest to scoring for the hosts Ipswich as the Tractor Boys and Reading played out a dull encounter. A game of few chances was seen with both sides organised and solid from the first whistle. Le Fondre headed against the post in Reading's only real opportunity, and Carlos Edwards smashed a 25 yard effort at Alex McCarthy who tipped the effort over his bar.

Ipswich unlucky to lose at Arsenal

An outstanding performance from Scott Loach wasn't enough as a brave Ipswich side fought hard in a 2-1 loss at the Emirates. The Gunners were off to a flyer when Koscielny headed a Podolski corner past Loach. Tommy Smith tripped Santi Cazorla to give the home side a chance to restore their lead from the spot, but Podolski's penalty was saved by Scott Loach who then made a double save from Wilshere and Giroud. Noone's low cross then found Amalfitano who netted with ease. A mistake from Chambers though, aloud Yaya Sanogo to tuck away and put Arsenal 2-1 up. Town almost clinched a late equaliser when David McGoldrick curled a 25-yard effort just wide of the left post.

Town move 10 points clear of 3rd placed Forest

Ipswich eased to a 3-1 victory at Doncaster to go 10 points clear of 3rd placed Nottingham Forest. Town scored just 29 seconds into the game through Craig Noone's sidefoot finish in the penalty area, McGoldrick doubled the lead after 14 minutes rounding off the keeper and tapping in. Doncaster pulled one back through a David Syers effort before Josh Carson marked his first appearance of the season with a goal.

Town 3-0 Brighton

A fine performance from the Tractor Boys saw them run out 3-0 winners over Brighton. The hosts took the lead when Romain Amalfitano's corner was headed in by Tommy Smith, Ipswich doubled their advantage when Anderson cut it back for Tabb who finished nicely from 20 yards. It was made 3-0 as Wordsworth played a one-two with Noone before firing a 25 yard shot past former Town gloves-man Kelvin Davis.

Nouble joins MK Dons on loan

Town striker Frank Nouble has agreed to join league 1 side MK Dons on loan for the rest of the season after limited appearances for Ipswich. The former Chelsea striker tweeted earlier today saying "Delighted to be at MK Dons, hopefully I can get some games under my belt."

Sharp and Forde join Town

Southampton striker Billy Sharp has joined on loan until the end of the season and David Forde has signed for the Tractor Boys for an undisclosed fee. Sharp revealed he has had a "soft spot" for Ipswich ever since they applauded his goal soon after the death of his son.

Billy Sharp netted a late equaliser on his debut for Ipswich. Middlesbrough went ahead through Lukas Jutkiewicz' penalty, Curtis Main then doubled the lead with a close range header. Just before the half-time whistle, David McGoldrick turned Woodgate before sliding his effort past Steele. With just minutes to go, substitute Billy Sharp managed to prod a Paul Anderson cross into the net.

Murphy joins Boro'

Town striker Daryl Murphy has joined Middlesbrough on a three-year deal. The Irishman had had 3 separate loan spells before finally joining Town permanently in the summer, but O'Flynn has decided to sell the striker. A fee of £300,000 is believed to have exchanged hands for the big front-man.

Leadbitter rejoins Town as Skuse departs

Former Town skipper Grant Leadbitter has rejoined the Tractor Boys as part of the Cole Skuse deal. Boro had offered £750,000 plus the transfer-listed Leadbitter for the former Bristol City man's services. Leadbitter spent 3 years as a Town player before moving on to Boro and he said he's "relishing" the chance to pull on the Ipswich shirt again.

Carson snatches late winner for Town

In just his third appearance of the season, Josh Carson netted his second goal of the season. The Northern-Irish international fired a 20 yard shot past Birmingham keeper Darren Randolph in the 81st minute, sending Portman Road into raptures.

Billy Sharp netted at his former club Nottingham Forest's County Ground as Town drew 2-2 with the promotion chasing side. Forest took the lead through former Norwich loanee Henri Lansbury but were pegged back when Craig Noone skinned Halford and rifled past Darlow. Town went in front late on as Billy Sharp scored a real poachers goal at the far post, soon after though, Forest equalised as Jamie Mackie scored his just his third goal of the season.

Craig Noone scored with the last kick of the game as Ipswich kept their 19 game unbeaten run intact. Blackburn went ahead through former Town loan man DJ Campbell. Town drew level on the stroke of half-time through Wordsworth after Elliot Hewitt nutmegged Henley before pulling it back for a fierce Wordsworth drive. Jason Lowe restored the visitors' lead when he headed past Loach. With the whistle pursed to the referee's lips, Craig Noone volleyed a screamer past Kean after Cresswell's flighted ball into the box.

Town's unbeaten run comes to an end

Controversial striker Nile Ranger netted an 82nd minute winner as Ipswich lost for the first time in 20 games. The former Newcastle man was set clean through on goal as Charlton hit the Tractor Boys on the counter, he rounded Loach and simply tapped home into an empty net.






 
When Boro offered him and 750k for Skuse I couldn't refuse mate, always liked Leadbitter as well
 
Ipswich made to rue missed chances

Tommy Smith's first half goal wasn't enough for Ipswich, as a late equaliser from Sheffield Wednesday's Liam Palmer prevented a home win. Smith nodded in Amalfitano's corner midway through the first half, but with 5 minutes to go Palmer curled a 15 yard effort past Loach. Ipswich had many chances with McGoldrick and Noone both hitting the woodwork, and Anthony Wordsworth forced Kirkland into an outstanding save from a free-kick.

Town edge past Hornets

David McGoldrick's second-half finish secured a Town win over struggling Watford in an unconvincing display. The ex-Forest striker converted a Josh Carson cross on the hour mark as Ipswich bagged all 3 points.

Wordsworth rescues point for Town

A last minute free-kick from Anthony Wordsworth rescued a deserved point for the Tractor Boys after N'Gog had put Bolton in front. Christophe Berra who was playing in Chambers' absence slipped to allow Trotters' striker N'Gog to put the hosts in front before Wordsworth fired a 25 yard free-kick past Bogdan.
