Jamie Carragher - A Managers Story

View attachment 265228
It's been a tough decision to make, but I really did not enjoy living in the country,
I did not enjoy managing the club, I feel I've give them what they need to
clinch the league title this year, I've left them with a ten point lead with
5 months to go. It could be time for a break from football.

I had decided to take on the job again. When I left this club I swore I would always come back on day, as the only reason I left was Liverpool. We finished 5th place that season. Unfortunately since I have left it hasn't all been good news here. The club now sit 12th in the league:

We find ourselves 10 points off the Champions League places, and 11
points safe of the drop. The board want a Europa League spot for next
season, and that is what I see being our most realistic target,
but even for me, with this squad I think it will be a push.

With 17 players available in the first team, Valencia have been looking for help from their U19 squad, who are not ready at
this level. I have 5 days in the transfer market to use some of their £20 million budget they have give me to try and
sign some squad players. There are some familiar faces in this squad from the last time I was here, so I'm hoping
they can stick together and help us finish this season respectively, and improve for the next.

The finances of the club have dropped dramatically since I left. Hopefully I can turn this club around. I didn't realise how bad they were. This year I will dig deep into our transfer funds, but after that I will be looking on saving every penny we have. Spending will put us in the red, but unless I do, this club will only drop further.

Key Players

Leandro Paredes

A very good all round midfielder with bags of ability going forward, I can imagine
he will be key to most of the goals being created. We may need him to pop
up with a few himself.

Fede Cartabia

The tricky Argentine has really grown as a player since I left. He only managed 12 games under my first management spell
but he looks to have proved himself and he will be one of our main players for the next season or two I'm sure.

My first game in charge is a tricky away trip to Mallorca who sit just three points behind us. We haven't
won in the league since December 13th so hopefully we can grab 3 points.

Interesting switch. But I like it. hopefully end this season on a positive note.

Looks like a good new challenge - good luck!

It's going to be a lot tougher than expected! I didn't realise how light the squad is! What do you think to the new layout?

It's going to be tough! Milan really was boring though, so this should be fun! Could I have some feedback on the layout, do you prefer the new one or the old?

Now watch Milan finish in 5th or something!

Ah well.... Good luck at Valencia....I suppose :@

When I seen Gibbs was available I could not pass up on the opportunity get him. He was my player of the season in my first season at Liverpool, and only lost his place because of the World Class Baez.
We also didn't have one left back at the club, so he was needed.

Alper Ademoglu - CM - Barcelona - 700k
View attachment 265197
A typical bargain from a team like Barcelona. He's technically a great player, but just
not good enough for the Catalans. A cheap but reliable option is what we need, and
I believe we have just got one.

Bojan - ST - Cardiff - 525k
View attachment 265196
Definition of a squad player. Bojan doesn't really add anything to the team, just some back up in case injuries hit.
He has some experience but never lived up to his potential, could be useful if needed.

Gabriel Silva - LWB - Lazio - £4.3 million

After signing Gibbs I wasn't really on the look out for a left back, but then his agent came to me and said he would be available for such a cheap price. He possesses bags of quality and I could not let this go, our defence is a lot stronger now.

Pablo Asin - RWB - Rayo - £1.5 million

View attachment 265152
To bring this lad in on deadline day was a great bit of business. He's young and looks like he already possesses great talent. Unfortunately for Rayo Vallecano he had a £1.5 million release clause. I had to trigger it. As our only solid right back he will slip straight into the starting XI.

Joel Matip - CB - Juventus - £3 million

View attachment 265150
This was a bit of a panic buy. Centre halfs are a position we are lacking at the moment, and I'm hoping Matip could be one of our best. We give him high wages, but we needed someone.

We're now into the last hour of Transfer Deadline Day.

Last minute deals
Gregory Van Der Wiel - RWB - Norwich - £89k
View attachment 265148
His career has gone down the drain, and I doubt I will play him much, but I do need some sort of back up to Asin.

Andre Gomes - CM - A.C.Milan - £2.5 million
View attachment 265147
Delighted to have pulled this off, a return for Andre Gomes too! He was one of our key players when I was here, and although I didn't play him much at Milan, he still adds quality to our midfield, and goals.

That's our transfer details up! Yoel was the only depature in goal, he left for £230k.

Ademoglu is a great player in my long Utd save (better attributes than in your save mind)

Seems to play well in big games too

It's a shame you couldn't add the Serie A to your CV but if you weren't enjoying your time there, there was no point in staying. I think the return to Valencia is good as you have some unfinished buisness there.
Pablo Asin looks good and to bring in Gomez is great.
Good luck!

A great performance from the lads today. We found ourselves 3-0 up after just 16 minutes. De Paul scored
a wonderful header which started us off. New boy Ademoglu scored a lovely effort from distance.

Our football started to get better at this point, and we played the ball around the park. We scored a
lovely goal with some great passing play, Cartabia finished it off. He got his second later on in the
first half which killed the game off.

Vazquez scored the goal of the game though for Getafe, as his overhead kick from the edge of the box
rifled into our top corner. All in all, it was a brilliant match to watch.

He seems good so far, hopefully he will develop better under myself. I tend to find players don't always develop as well if they're at an AI club.

I know, in a way I should have stuck it out, but god was it boring! Asin looks like a quality signing, hoping he can become the next big thing. I use my wing backs well so it's one of my key positions. Yeah Gomez coming back is a nice touch!
