Tactics for the latest patch.
These tactics are a collab by Kallemannen and ChristianEriksen. We try to make the best 4231 tactics for Football Manager 2015. Make sure you have a read at this thread to get the best results!
General instructions

If you want to get the best results you have to tweak the tactic in-game. For example, when getting caught at the back by 'long ball football' or 'direct football play' you have to go to team instructions and select 'drop deeper'. We made an easy tweaking tactic for you as you easily can switch to counter, control and attack, if needed.
Important, play and watch the game
Don't just set the tactic in your tactic slot and go on holiday or simulate the game in an other way. You only get the best results out of it when you watch the game and analyze where it is going wrong, or how you can dominate the match even more.
Standard situations
The tactic has short corner settings and make sure your LB and RB taking the corners. If you got a player who has 'long throws' as PPM than set long throws at standard situations, manually. Let him throw all the throw-ins. If you don't got a player who has 'long throws' as PPM, make sure you learn a full back.

WIDE 4231
The first tactic is a wide four defenders, two defensive midfielders, one attacking midfielders, two wingers and one striker formation.

Use these tactics (control and counter) for all kind of teams. Combine the tactic with the opposition instructions below and make sure your squad has a good morale. The most defensive defensive midfielder is the DM, the regista is a more attacking defensive midfielders. Our advice is to start the match with the control version and if you think you need to counter, than switch. Or just use counter to protect the lead, for example.

Only use this tactic for better clubs of the league in combination with the opposition instructions below. This tactic is not just a plug and play tactic. You need to look carefull to your squad and see if it suits your squad. You need three good attacking midfielders and two good defensive midfielders. And remember, give the tactic some time.

The opposition instructions are important to make the tactic even better. Don't let your assistant manager pick some opposition instructions but set the OI's below manually. The opposition instructions with some anti-cross instructions are important to be more solid at the back and got good defensive positioning and pressing.

Tactic slot tip!
If you want a great set of tactics make sure you set at the first slot the 'narrow 4231 PRESS' tactic. Go to your second slot and copy the tactic again. But now we're going to make a DROP version from it to be more solid against 'long ball football' and 'direct passing football'. Go to team instructions and select 'drop deeper' and untick 'offside trap'. In the last tactic slot you set the last version of this thread, 'wide 4231 PRESS'.

#1- An updated 4D, 2DM, 1AM, 2W, 1S WIDE tactic. The one in this thread is the original version by Kallemannen from a few monts ago. But still working well!
#2- A full new 4D, 2CM, 1AM, 2W, 1S WIDE tactic. Be patient.. and prepared!
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THE GOOD. SHOW US THE GOOD AND BAD RESUTLS TO MAKE THE TACTIC EVEN BETTER IN THE FUTURE. IF YOU DON'T SHARE YOUR RESULTS WE DON'T OF WHAT TYPES OF TEAM IT IS OR ISN'T WORKING!

This is completely up to you as there is no 'just one best training' method. Look at your squad and schedule and see if you need to focus on defensive positioning or something else. When in pre-season focus on 'tactics' very high to make the tactic become fluid to your squad. Make sure you train your players into the roles they play at the tactic.
