after a lot of testing and tweaking and re-tweaking, i've finally stabilised on one version. ironically its the version i played with for the first half of the season. i only started changing things in january after i got some feedback from some users. the only changes i attempted were offensive, as defensively the tactic is playing superbly (especially in league games). the only big change i've maintained from the tweaks in january is removing direct passing from the team instructions. that seems to be working quite well.

these results are simply too good, and i cant wait until the end of the season to post them. its the best this tactic has performed for me thus far. although i think a lot of it, especially defensively, has to do with the players i have. all my more defensive playrs are big and strong, and this is essential, especially in midfield. they are also technical, which is important too.

we've only lost 1 game all season, away to napoli, and undeservedly so as they scored from a f-kick obviously. we've conceeded very few goals in the league, although quite a few in other competitions, especially on our right hand side as you can see from the screenie, and i suspect this is due to me having adapted koke to play as a right wing back. he's now fully accomplished there, so he should do better.

its been a real team effort, as goals and assists come from mostly everywhere, although my better players like diego costa, vela and turan have more goals and assists, but the wing-backs and centre midfielders have also contributed a lot.

unfortunately i was kicked out of the cup on away goals. i posted the screenies from those matches earlier. 2 f-kick goals and their keeper was MOM :( not much one can do about that... i gues the vast majority of goals i've conceeded are from set-pieces, especially direct and in direct free-kicks, as im happy with the amount we concede from corners (we also score quite a few).

its been a really positive season thus far and i hope we can continue this form, although 20 pts ahead of 2nd with 26 games played is quite ridiculous. my aim now is to concentrate on the champions league, and hopefully bag that, as it would takle a catastrophy to lose the league as it stands.

this is the tactic i've been using if anyone wants to give it a try:

edit: just played 2 games where we werent creating too many chances against easier opposition, and had to add direct passing to instructions again. might re-add it later permanently.

vela and diego cota got injured, and my backup players arent as good, so i removed "dribble more" from SS's

50% training on att movement, high team cohesion and no OI's

used your latest version 343 killer test v3 with dortmund, it is fully fluid and doesn't seem to work for me. lost 4 on the trot, scoring 2 goals and conceding 10. tried adding more direct passing, didn't seem to work. any ideas?

Nah there's a better way to break down the little teams than direct passing! My weekend schedule has been jam packed, just needed a bit more testing time.

Ok so what are the key ingredients to making this tactic work within the fomation? First off is the very slow tempo. Often times with higher tempos against teams who are willing to park the bus, your team tries to force chances that aren't really there. The much lower tempo allows for your team to be very patient with the ball. The entire team slowly pushes their way up the field, making the numbers advantage the opposition typically has from parking the bus much less prominent.

In order to thin them out further, I use play wider. With the three trequaristas in the middle and the two CWBs on the front line as you slowly work the ball up the field, the defense is stretched all the way across the length of the field. This gives your players plenty of holes in the defense to make cuts. The Regista and/or Anchor man usually end up with a couple good chips over the defense every game too.

I've used three Trequaristas at the top mostly because that role has the option to hold up ball. The strategy is to slowly work the ball up to the Trequaristas while they hold the ball and wait for one of the other players to make a cut and test the anticipation of those opposing defenders. Chances are the defenders on weaker teams aren't going to be the strongest players in the league, and the greater number of times you can test their mental fortitude the more chances you give yourself to break them.

It still performs well against the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool, but what it really excels at is choking out the teams you know you should be handling.

cicero- did you use your tactic alone or did you switch to veez's version at times?

For all of the screenshots I posted, I used that tactic alone. I used Veez's version earlier in the season though. My goal was to create a possession-based tactic with a slow tempo to go alongside his.

so would you recommend using yours even when you're the underdog?
I still think Veez's version is better when you're the clear underdog, I just wanted to get in as many games with this version as I could for testing purposes.

Best defense but most most difficult to scores...
any suggest?

im going to tottally review the tactic and adapt it only for underdog situations to be used in tandem with cicero's

I was using Sigur?sson in the middle because he's either footed, but yes in general I would still use your most creative player in the middle.

Hmm other than buying better players to play the trequarista spots I'm not really sure. They have the responsibility of dictating the tempo of the attack, creating opportunities for everyone else, and they need to be able to finish as well, so you are going to want some pretty talented and well-rounded AMs. Unless someone is having a really bad game, I try to prioritize my subs on the CWBs and trequaristas to keep fresh legs on the attack.

Tested your 343 Killer v3 with Estoril, a lower team in Portugal. Media prediction: 14th

So I managed to get the title in the first season. Also got to the final of the Portuguese Cup but lost on penalties against Sporting. But, it was an epic season for Estoril! Here are the best matches:

Now I'm going to test the tactic with a middle team (Newcastle) and then with a top team (one of the top teams in the Premier League) to make sure it is a really great tactic.

awesome results mate!

ganda estoril! "come on yellooooows!" :P

i'd say 343 v3 is the most stable version of killer at the moment. although, as some people have said, and as i have come to find too, it can be improved in attack, and im looking to do so.

look forward to see how you do in your other tests. im doing some myself with some offensive tweaks and will post results asap.
