Le Rondinelle - A Brescia Story

Season 2

Takeover No.2

3WiueMy.png

Right at the start of preseason we got a not to say that our new Chairman who had only just purchased the club earlier in the year has decided that he wants to step down from hands-on roles so hopefully it goes through quickly and doesn't stop us making transfers.

RK8L9vp.png

Sure enough a couple of weeks later we are told that the takeover has gone through and its just one of the directors stepping up to take control of the club so nothing changes and thankfully we weren't put any embargos as it went through either

Transfers Out

With getting promoted we've had a few players coming to us looking for new contracts but with that they are wanting to triple their wages which just isn't feasible for their quality and with needing to bring in new players as well so the ones that got unhappy when they were told no are getting flogged to raise some more funds for better players to come in.

VQUKYak.png

We've done well to raise £15million to add to our transfer budget which is going to be well used.

Transfers In

We had a very tough transfer window as we lost out on a large number of players by not being able to offer larger wages so we were working to a very tight budget as I didn't want to blow everything on just a couple of players as we wouldn't be able to bring in enough players to be able to make a go at staying up this season and in the end we managed to sign a total of 12 players.

Tommaso Ghirardello

OPKxoqY.png

We take a chance on another player from Serie C as we sign him from Padova for £140,000 and he will be a bit part player in the first team this season

Lucas Canizares

idbOJ16.png

Needing to look at new keepers this season and we sign Canizares from Castilla on a free transfer and he looks like he'll be a great backup for us this season

Antoine Mendy

O0BzSus.png

Mendy is an exciting RB that could have a big future at the club as we sign him from Nice for £1.2m and will battle it out for the starting position

Niccolo Pierozzi

Jtmaj41.png

We bring in another RB as Pierozzi joins from Fiorentina on loan and provides the final cover for RB

Matteo Prati

l4BuQAc.png

Got to love how the number of loans doesn't matter in Italy as we bring in Prati from Cagliari on loan and even though he's young he looks like he will be a great midfielder for us.

Nikola Cavlina

idt5MCW.png

We needed to bring in a new starting keeper for the season and we were restricted with transfer fees so we looked for a young player who can develop and Cavlina joins from Lokomotiva for £2.5m

Sebastiano Esposito

We had the need to bring in a striker this season but all the experienced ones would blow our wage budget out the water so again we went young here as Esposito joins on loan from Inter. He did struggle with goals for Sampdoria last season but we'll take a gamble

Jose Marsa

0Lmrb86.png

We were looking to add a new defender or two to the ranks to add depth to the squad and we snap up Marsa from Andorra for £2.9m and he has the added bonus of being able to cover the LB position as well

Pontus Dahbo

3aa7cvd.png

Dahbo is a very talented midfielder for only being 19 and he has a big future and can be key for us and Sweden as he joins from BK Hacken after we activate his release clause of £1.4m

Abdallah Sima

SQhFnoc.png

We were lacking cover for the RW so we looked to the loan market again and bring in Sima from Brighton after he had a successful season last year at Rangers.

David Costas

The final player we sign is one final CB for cover and hopefully can sell for a profit as well as we activate the release clause of Costas as he signs from Real Oviedo for £425,000

Expectations

LdFNgBo.png

The board don't expect a massive amount from us this season as all we need to do is avoid relegation which will be tough but we'll be out to do our best this season

August

kfLIBdX.png

We've got a decent draw in the first round of the cup this season with playing Modena but then a horrible two games to introduce us to Serie A with Napoli and Fiorentina as we will need to be at our best to not get a hammering from them

August

Coppa Italia 1st Round
Brescia v Modena

gvCBuYG.png

I expected a much easier match here but we were still a bit rusty with having to integrate so many new players in the squad but Galazzi does enough from the right wing to see us into the next round

Brescia v Napoli

nxCA0LJ.png

What a win as this was not expected at all but Napoli apparently didn't know what to expect from us here as Sima takes over from Galazzi on the right wing to get the only goal of the game from a tap in on the back post

Bresica v Fiorentina

lRM8Xdh.png

Falling behind early is never easy to come back from and I fully expect it to happen quite a lot this season but it was good to see Ghirardello make a scoring debut as he came off the bench on the left wing.

Transfers In

Sergio Gomez

66GuyvC.png

I wanted somebody to come in with experience on the left wing and even though Gomez is only 24 he has played in some of the top leagues across Europe and can bring that to our young squad. He joins from Stuttgart on loan.

Simon Adingra

8eqMGUJ.png

We left it very late for players for the LW position but we snap up another gem on loan here as Adingra is a very bright talent who came through the Right To Dream Academy before moving to Europe and we look to give him a big chance in a decent league.

Wages

wrDRAno.png

This shows how far behind the rest of the league we are as we are even behind Pisa by £85,000 a week and also shows why I wasn't willing to blow our wage budget on just a couple of new signings but it does give plenty of room for growth as we establish ourselves in the league it will be fun to see us move up

League

Well I forgot to take a screenshot of this but after only 2 games its not that interesting anyway

September

zgxgRxm.png

Pisa is our best bet for points here since they came up with us but the rest of the games are all against established teams so its going to be a tough month

September

Brescia v Udinese

9TPMjvn.png

This was one of the games I was worried about this season and even though we lost I'm happy that it was only 1 goal and it wasn't from a set piece.

Empoli v Brescia

F7CKPxc.png

Sima has been great in the few games he's played for us so far as he gets the only goal of the game for us as he cuts in off the wing for a nice finish. We did well to hold on as well after going down to 10 men as well with losing a man in midfield

Brescia v Pisa

pnU6eGU.png

A must win game for us here in my eyes and we race to a 2 goal lead as Giovannini gets us off to a flyer with a wonder strike and it just shows we were right to splash out on him last season as he has again made another big step up for only being 19 and originally playing in Serie C last season before we signed him

Genoa v Brescia

MnsCuv0.png

Well this certainly didn't go to plan in the first half as Genoa ran us off the pitch and showed their superiority

League

8jYUjPg.png

6 games in and we are sitting 8th in the table. The leaders are already way ahead of us but again out aim this season is just to stay up

October

XoxNZw7.png

A pretty horrible start to the month here with Roma and Inter and that could set the tone for the rest of the month depending on how bad those games are

October

Brescia v Roma

XFLtJwQ.png

We came close to pulling off an upset here with a draw as we managed to pull it back twice but Roma used all their experience to break us down for one final goal to make sure they went back with the 3 points

New Signing

I've always said that I was being carful with wages as I didn't want to spend a lot on one player but that all went out the window with this player who we pick up on a free transfer is a real coup for the club

NtRu2H1.png

Malcom is a big step up in quality for us for the squad and brings age and experience into a young squad. He once caught the eye of Barcelona but sadly didn't work out before moving to Russia but worst case we can sell him for a hefty transfer fee.

Inter v Brescia

BZk8CDM.png

Giovannini has been an important player this season as he scores a 2nd in two games and gets us a very big point away from home

Brescia v Monza

DPylo54.png

Malcom comes on as a sub for the final 20 minutes here and does what we bring him into do in these situations and find a way to get us back in the game with a brilliant last minute goal.

Bologna v Brescia

9MTumgM.png

It was the usual with falling behind here but we finally win a game with it being our first win in 5 as we came out from half time a different team as Bianchi was able to find his scoring boots with 2 late goals to get the win.

League

5M7b2NC.png

We're down to 12th now but still 8 points ahead of the relegation zone which is all thats important.

November

KEOwST8.png

It seems there are no easy months just now but at least its not as bad as the last one as we have a big chance for 3 points against Sampdoria to finish the month off

November

Cagliari v Brescia

YKYGjX3.png

Not the best opening 26 minutes to the game but Sima pegged a goal back straight after their 2nd to give us a chance before Giovannini pulled it back to get us a well earned point

Brescia v Sassuolo

AhsGxEu.png

A goal right on half time gave us a good start but it was a ping pong battle in the end and we walk away with another point.

Atalanta v Brescia

Fgk0ggl.png

We came so close to a big upset here but sadly it just wasn't to be as Atalanta scores with the final kick of ball to secure a point

Brescia v Sampdoria

AWaAnP7.png

This was a must win game for us against Sampdoria and the 2nd half was ours as Malcom scored a lovely goal from just outside the box before the 3 points were secured by Adingra on the opposite wing.

League

jJFM8wy.png

An unbeaten month has seen us jump up the table to 8th spot just a point outside of the European spots which would be well exceeding my target this season but lets not get carried away.

December

kFlsI2g.png

The only way this month could be any worse is if it was a tougher draw in the cup but we have an excellent chance of making it through to the next round

December

Lazio v Brescia

TqmkfsO.png

Even though Lazio are struggling this season I knew this was still going to be a rough game and Lazio were certainly stern opposition and it looked like a loss right up until the final minute where we got a very lucky penalty to salvage a point

Brescia v A.C Milan

sOezlPg.png

What a 2nd half of football here as we even managed to take the lead and even though we lost thanks to an injury time goal we can be very proud of how we performed

Coppa Italia 2nd Round
Frosinone v Brescia

HM8qQ46.png

Things did not go to plan from the off here as we fell 2 behind in the opening 6 minutes and had to completely change our approach to the game but thankfully it all paid off as we rallied to move into the 3rd round

Juventus v Brescia

CMo6LWe.png

Not the best result but we knew it was always possible coming here.

Brescia v Torino

Y2nRnPu.png

A poor result here as I thought we were good value for a point but sadly a set piece was our downfall here.

League

9xGwLGW.png

A really poor month here as we only picked up a single point as we tumble down to 14th at just about the half way stage of the season

January

Ko1p4gl.png

Another load of tough games this month and we really need to try and get a win back on the board to try and turn the results around

January

Salernitana v Brescia

V6AiBcH.png

We headed to 4th in the table here and we did really well to get a point here thanks to super sub Ghirardello comes on with 5 minutes to go a grabs a goal.

Brescia v Fiorentina

wYeco62.png

We did so well to stay in this game up until the final 5 minutes and it all went down hill as the better team won

Coppa Italia 3rd Round
A.C Milan v Brescia

ayDD9PN.png

What a game as we cause a massive upset in the cup by beating Milan away from home which just shows the magic of the cup

Napoli v Brescia

l1RZH1B.png

What a comeback here as it looked we were down and out but we rallied with 5 minutes to go and got back into the game before causing a shock result here like we did in our opening game of the season when we beat them

Udinese v Brescia

JV6DcIP.png

A much needed win here as its our first win in the league since the end of November and it was a final shot goal again that does it here coming from Papetti heading in from a corner.

Transfers

We really struggled with bringing in players again here that we can afford the wages for so we only brought in one new player who can hopefully change our fortunes with running our midfield for us

frzuYIZ.png

Ounahi joins us from Marseille for £3.6million and hopefully he can bring the form that saw him as one of the stand out players at the last World Cup

League

p4wXQLw.png

We move up a spot to 13th now and are 9 points above the relegation zone so we have a buffer between us at least. Its looking like Milan are already separating themselves from the rest at the top.

February

LQQUBZD.png

Finally a much more relaxed month in the league and we also have our first Quarter final to look forward to as well this month in the Coppa Italia.

February

Brescia v Empoli

NStvznH.png

What a game as Malcom really steps up here as he bangs in a great hat-trick to show what he can do.

Pisa v Brescia

5KJgcOA.png

Confidence is flowing here as we pick up our 3rd win on a row as goals just after half time and before the final whistle get us 3 points.

Coppa Italia Quarter Final
Roma v Brescia

fA6wE0y.png

We play in our first quarter final here and the pressure got to Mendy as he was sent off for a rash challenge and it made it more difficult for us to get back into the game after Roma's early goal and sadly we go out of the cup.

Brescia v Genoa

5wPlz5z.png

The super sub is at it again as he comes off the bench with the final 20 minutes to play and did enough to get in behind the defence and get us back in front to get the 3 points.

Roma v Brescia

dbfxEjx.png

Sadly we weren't able to get our own back on Roma here after they put us out the cup but at least we only kept it to one goal as they had 2 disallowed for offside.

League

MybswEe.png

We move up a spot to 12th as we are slowly moving up and away from relegation and now open up a very big gap

March

uH7EOnq.png

With us being out the cup we get back to 4 games and at least it only gets easier after the opening game of the month against Inter

March

Brescia v Inter

MJrOT6X.png

What a start as Dahbo slots home from just outside the box within the opening 60 seconds which sets us on our way to a huge win over Inter.

Monza v Brescia

4ua53XV.png

This time it was us that were put on the back foot here from the early goal but we did well fighting back and getting back on top at half time. We did get a scare though when the equalised with 10 minutes to go but Esposito to the rescue to get the 3 points.

Brescia v Bologna

3FeLpgH.png

A poor result after the last couple of games and we should of really done better.

Cagliari v Brescia

eF6QdNM.png

Ghirardello is given a rare start here and he continues to deliver as the young striker nabs a brace after we fall behind

League

AZA1GID.png

We continue to move up the table yet again after another good month and we are now somehow only 3 points off the European spots now as well. We are also well and truly out of the relegation fight now as well thankfully

Youth Intake

rXKZm9o.png

Well we get what looks like an excellent youth intake but when we start to look at the players more carefully I'd be surprised if any of them go onto make the first team as their stats are surprisingly underwhelming

April

QoLm8oP.png

We get to the tail end of the season now and there is not a single easy game this month as we face 4 well established teams

I think you can take Sampdoria, Sassuolo & Lazio. They've all had horrible seasons, especially Sampdoria! You can do it!

I think you can take Sampdoria, Sassuolo & Lazio. They've all had horrible seasons, especially Sampdoria! You can do it!
Cheers mate, fingers crossed for the best possible results

Just caught up! What a first season in Serie A you are having - still chances of sneaking a European qualification spot which would be an incredible achievement!

Dont get Lazio this year on FM. On my Victor San Marino save I'm in 2032 and theyve been seriously struggling for years and in relegation battles nearly every season for the past 5 years. Good job in Serie A for the first year though mate keep it up!!

April

Sassuolo v Brescia

skz2EtD.png

Sassuolo have been poor this season so I expected to get a result here but sadly it didn't go our way at all

Brescia v Atalanta

ygqXARk.png

A much better result here as we got off to a flying start as Malcom scores a screamer from just outside the area before Giovannini doubles our lead 10 minutes later. It was a nervy final 25 minutes but thankfully we held on for the 3 points.

Sampdoria v Brescia

iGgjmIJ.png

Malcom is at it again with a fine solo goal to show his Brazilian magic as he gets the only goal of the game

Brescia v Lazio

tzyEwYo.png

Jesus what an opening half with 5 goals scored. its just a shame that when we scored 3 of them we still managed to lose since Papetti misjudged his clearance and sent it into his own goal

League

Dy2GY5S.png

We hold onto 10th in the league but are now 7 points of the European spaces so we still have an outside chance of getting 7th

May

c1NKbpZ.png

The final 4 games of the season now and its a not going to be easy to get one of the European spots but at least it does finish a bit easier and gives us the chance for some points.

Following man! Love underdog stories and love doing underdog saves myself some great shock results here. Keep it going. Least you’ll be surviving another year

May

A.C Milan v Brescia

TraxyAg.png

With Milan going down to 10 men after only 20 minutes I thought that we had a real chance of taking something from the game but sadly they were still able to out class us with 10 men

Brescia v Juventus

JwQQXVN.png

What a huge result for us here as we took the lead through a penalty that Esposito slots home with the precision of somebody a lot older but Juventus peg back in the final couple of minutes so we settle for the point.

Torino v Brescia

UlTr7D6.png

A really boring first half of football makes way for an exciting 2nd as Torino score just after kick off which could of scared our players but we jump right back in the game a minute later. I was worried as we fell behind but it turns out it was nothing to worry about as two quick goals in succession get us the 3 points.

Brescia v Salernitana

EoUWLOp.png

A really poor result here after taking the lead in the first half but to be fair Salernitana are fighting it our for European football so its not the worst result.

League

e1gzZ0a.png

Not the best month to finish on result wise as we only get 4 points from 12 but in the larger scheme of things we have finished the season in a really good position considering we were one of the favourites to be relegated this season.

Budgets

r5jtS8p.png

Not the best budgets to try and improve on this seasons results as the wage budget hasn't been increased at all and we have only been given £7 million to spend. We're going to have to look to sell some players for a profit to be able to then bring in the players that we need to move up the table

New Stadium

aCrOY94.png

One surprising bit of news that the board have shared is that they plan to build a new stadium for us with very little details being shared. It will be interesting once we get the details to see the size and more importantly how its all going to be paid for

Nice first season in serie a mate! Looking forward to seeing your moves on the transfermarket!
Im currently in my first season with Salernitana, trying to make them decent. I never get tired of managing in Italia.

Cheers, they've done well in my save so far, they sold Pirola to Man Utd for £40million in the 2nd season which then let them spend £37million on 5 players which has helped push them up the table. I love playing in Italia as it reminds me of when I was young watching the highlights on a Sunday morning

Pirola is good! Boulaye dia is a beast for me.
But yeah, its a special league.

Season 3

Transfers Out

CckTH0Q.png

Well the one player who I would like to have kept a lot longer has sadly left the club as his release clause was activated by Al-Ittihad and his wages have jumped by £400k which is just ridiculous and we could never compete with that so off he goes and at least we get decent cash. Bianchi decided he wanted to go at the end of his contract at the end of this season so we cashed in while we could as Sunderland spent £7.5million on him. Galazzi was key for us getting promoted but found chances hard to come by and wanted a big increase in wages on a new contract so again we cashed in on him as well

Transfers In

So far we have brought in a whopping 11 players with 6 on free transfers, 1 loan and 5 with transfers fees. We've tried to stick to our wage limits to bring people in so it does mean we've had to bring in some younger players.

Rayane Bounida

qNwmRyB.png

Bounida was released by Ajax and even though he doesn't look like much but we take a punt on him and he'll go into the youth team or out on loan.

Tommy Doyle

ZAj9rC7.png

We want to continue to build up the middle of the Park and Doyle fits that perfectly as he should be able to run the match from midfield as he joins on a free from Man City

Julien Ponceau

1lVw6hL.png

Another free transfer here as he joins from FC Lorient and will be a backup player for us as he can play in cm and AMC

Miguel Azeez

oT1A9ef.png

Again not a startling signing but comes in to provide more cover in the middle of the park as he joins from Arsenal on a free

Gianluca Frabotta

T02tYTE.png

With loans ending at the end of the season we needed another LB in the squad so Frabotta comes in as a backup on a free from Juventus

Famana Quizera

a3AkqVp.png

We finally spend some cash as we sign Quizera for £575,000 from RB Leipzig as he is a very versatile player who can play anywhere across the attacking midfield positions

Cole Palmer

NHpU5BF.png

With Malcom leaving we were in desperate need of a new winger and Palmer ticks the boxes as he was transfer listed by Chelsea and joins for £9million and will be our starting RW

Federico Accornero

2gAXNU1.png

I want to make sure that we continue to bring Italians in and give them chances so for the LW positon we splash out £10million to sign Accornero from Genoa in the hope we can develop him with some game time.

Tommaso Martinelli

HknAAhL.png

Martinelli is a young exciting keeper who got released from Fiorentina so we snapped him up to keep our Italian numbers up and see him as a future keeper for the club.

Lorenzo Lucca

QJL9L7k.png

Everybody's favourite Italian striker from a couple of years ago joins us from relegated Pisa for £7.5million to add some well needed fire power for us up front as he can do a big jobs for us this season

Alessio Piantedosi

dZCb6y5.png

Wanting a bit more cover at the back on either side Piantedosi joins on loan from Sassuolo

Expectations

LzhFT8a.png

We have already upped our wage budget to help bring in more players to grow the squad but we still have a wee bit of cash in the bank here to spend on other people if needed.

Friendlies

EjbTBSs.png

We headed to South Korea on tour to try and grow the clubs reputation is Asia to help sell some shirts. We also had a couple of money spinning friendlies to help boost the bank balance a bit as well which none went to plan at all.

August

enUzpUE.png

As usual we get stuck right into the Coppa Italia with a decent draw before facing newly promoted Cremonese before facing the established teams but its a new season so anything is possible agian
