Network Game Update
----------------------
Title Challenge....
Well we are well into the season now as we are approaching December and 13 games have been played. As it stands Chelsea top the English Premier League by 3 points, but what must be kept in mind is Manchester United are right on their tails with a game in hand.
-----------
Chelsea
-----------
Overview
Chelsea have soared to the top this season because of one man, and that man is David Noon. Noon has masterminded his team to a magnificent unbeaten run stretching to 13 league games and 15 in all competitions. It has been a blend of strong defending and a swift attacking force. Conceding fewer than any other club this season, only 7 have slipped past Cech.
--------
Signings
--------
--------------
Sergio Aguero
--------------
Sergio Aguero has been especially captivating this season, notching up 10 goals and by far the best performer in the league this year. Aguero of course signing from Atheltico Madrid for an undisclosed fee which is thought to be around £40,000,000. Im sure the boss will be very happy that his big money buy has paid off. (10/10)
--------------
Martin Caceres
--------------
Not many peoples ideal choice for a Chelsea Defender, only appearing in 3 League games, and only 1 of them a starting role. But what he has done he has done with minimal fuss. All around a great assest to Chelsea squad for the future. (7/10)
--------------
Manchester United
--------------
The bookies favourites to win the league this season have started slowly but are starting to pick up the pace now, a win in their next game will take them on level points with leader Chelsea. A key element in the United squad this year has been Mr.Macs tactial suprises he has sprung on a few opponents. United are deffiently going to be a force to rekon with. One must wonder if United can get back into form after there upcoming World Club Championship matches.
--------
As for signings United have opted for younger players and so i will not be making a report on them.
One thing that must be taken into note is Mr.Mac has decided to buy Cristian Zapata from Udinese, United are waiting on a work permit for Zapata, but it is thought the deal will be completed on January 1st for around 19.75m.
---------------
Liverpool
---------------
Since the new manager arrived, Liverpool have started playing like a team that once won the league every year. With Gerrard leading the midfield and a striker like Torres pouncing on every chance, i wouldn't be suprised if Liverpool catch up with the leaders, and finally put in a decent title challenge.
No signings have been made by Daniel Jolly, but few are to be expected in January. Liverpool need another striker if they are going to win the league as Robbie Keane and Dirk Kuyt are not up to the task of winning the Premiership. News of David Villa moving to the reds have flared up in recent weeks, one confirmed transfer is Sparta Pragues Vaclav Kadlec who will sign on January 1st for £250,000.
-----------------------
Arsenal
-----------------------
What can be said about Arsenal this season apart from, is this a joke? Arsenal lay 8th in the league after what can only be described as a terrible start to the season. 8 points behind the leaders and with the managers job in doubt, many will be calling for Edmunds to bring in some Winter Signings. Arsenal are desperate for a left midfielder, my recomendations are as followed.
Ashley Young - A pacey creative left winger, who is passionate about his goals, thought to be rated around £30,000,000
Simon Vukcevic - Simon is a fantastic player, only 22 a real bargain for around £13,000,000 maximum bid.
Andrey Arshavin - Enough Said. Around £13,000,000 for the services of the russian.
----------------------
Signings
--------
Goran Pandev
--------
Goran Pandev - Pandev has netted an un-impressive 1 goal in 8 league games. Costing the club around £17,000,000 many will be questioning the buisness ethics of Edmunds. (3/10)
--------
Mario Ballotelli
--------
An impressive player for Arsenal, but not being given a natural position to settle in. He has played up top 4 times, left midfield 3 times, midfield right twice and in the centre once. As well as some attacking midfield roles. (8/10)
--------
Lorenzo di Silvestri
--------
Consistantly impressive in the few games he has played for the club, has all the right charatiristics to become a leading defender for Arsenal. (7/10)
--------
Relegation Battle
----------------
The battle to stay in the league is always one that fills the fans with excitement and shame. This years contenders are, West Brom, Hull, Stoke, Portsmouth, Middlesborough and Wigan.
----------------
West Brom
-----------
No one expected West Brom to stay up this year, but no one expected them to be performing so badly, only 3 points from a possible 39! On a 12 game losing streak and in a lot of trouble.
-----------
Tranfers
-----------
Kieirson
----------
Well what can be said, a embaressment so far in his career at the Hawthornes, he needs to get his scoring shoes on or get out. (2/10)
--------------
Hull
--------------
Hull are doing better than many expected, they have got some points on the board and are playing quite well together. I think come January they will be right in the thick of the battle and have to pull off some top wins to stay up.
--------------
15 Signings, all performing consistantly average, good buisness from the manager, Jermaine Beckford is one to watch for the future for sure.
--------------
Portsmouth
--------------
The manager may well and truely be on his way, under-performing, and hardly any belief in the man in charge. Pompey are resting just above the relegation place.
--------------
Signings
--------------
Wilson Palacios
--------------
Cheap signing, performing quite well for a team on the brink of breaking down. (6/10)
--------------
Mbami
--------------
Another cheap signing, good business from the man in charge. Featuring in nearly every game this season, he has been a solid performer. (7/10)
--------------
UNDER PRESSURE MANAGERS!
---------------
Adam Morley - Portsmouth - Very Insecure
Ben Lister - Aston Villa - Very Insecure
