LFCMarshall's FM14 update suggestion thread

Actually, you can. You have to google how to make a new nation, there's something about loading the nation.xml (or some extension) in the installation file and make the read only in some part of the continent to read only = false (it's not exactly like this, but once you open the file, you'll know, do the Google search).

Then you create a new nation using one of the defunct existing in the database (i.e. URSS or pre twenties Ireland), rename it, give it a league structure to have it active and set the start competition data of the nation and then in the divisions in the custom rules. Getting it to start after the winter window is a bit tricky, because the date when the new season is updated is limited to I don't know how long before the start of season. I made one that starts around March 2014, I think, at the second try, using 1st June 2014 as start of season, because the first (which I think I set to start season at March) sent me to begin at January.

Still, as LFCMarshall does his files, it is more than good enough. It's a wonderful job you're doing, LFCMarshall.

It will simulate the 13/14 season though for all the major nations mate, so the changes i make like promotions and relegations wont really work

Im reading this and still cant belive this dude is saying such nonsense, Sanchez played in front of Messi did you really just say that? Even when Messi was injured Fabregas played the F9 and he was still on the right wing... Just checked various sites and none of them report him playing a single game in the ST position for Barcelona, he played some games as a ST for Chile but even there he spent most time on the right wing and didnt really seem like a natural striker.

Completely agree.

Although I can still see Wenger trying to turn him into a striker like he did with Henry. Offers a completely different game to Giroud and not sure if Wenger is lining up someone in this position?
 
Marouane Chamakh signed for Palace two year deal his wages have been cut by 50%
Julian Speroni signed a new 1 year deal for the 14/15 season and it comes with an option for an extra year if the club wish to keep him

Wenger has already said he has all the attributes to make a good striker

Just a little fix:

Romelu Lukaku won't join Borussia Dortmund in the new Season - I was just wondering, that he's playing for Dortmund ;)
