But there were only ever 2 real contenders for the title until Chelsea had their mid-season crumble and even then they managed to close a 16 point gap before losing it again.

The finances in the Spanish League have a lot to do with Barcelona and Real Madrid's domination, it's as simple as that. Until the money is more evenly split up between the 20 teams nothing will change, no matter how many billions Malaga's chairman puts into the club - they won't be able to compete with Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Insane that it was 8-0, but considering Manchester United beat Arsenal 8-2 earlier in the season you can't say this result makes the league the least competitive.

Had to do an article for a betting site and wanted to predict 5-0, but just put the odds down for "Barca to win by 3+ goals" so quite happy that came through.

The bit that scares me the most about this result is that this is Barcelona without Gerard Pique, Andres Iniesta, Alexis Sanchez, Pedro and Ibrahim Afellay. That's just an incredible squad of players to choose from. To think, people actually doubted how Fabregas would fit into this team, he seems to be making them tick in his new role.

It wasnt a case of not fitting in, but not getting games

Osasuna were truly dire though, and it wasnt just a case of Barca making them look awful, they were genuinely dire. They made Arsenal's defending look solid.

As for the whole two league thing, even the Heads of the various clubs say this now, both from Barca/Real and the rest. And the financial divide is a big part of making it worse

Once more, no. There were 3-4 clubs within less than 10 points of each other, and even though United didn't have the best of starts they were always there or thereabout.

We clearly have a very different view of things so I'll drop it here.

I've always said it, you won't see any post of mine claiming otherwise. It's basic, really, and it confirms my theory. A league run like that is not and will not be competitive.

//Edit - And as I've said before I used to defend La Liga, but clearly the facts can't be refuted and are just reinforced by results like these.

Embarrassing from Di Maria. Came up with Biscuits moment.

he has done it again, and he dived first IIRC?

He got tackled, then jumped in for a tackle, Situation got heated up, someone just touched him, didn't even slap just a slight touch, DI Maria fell down as if he was shot. Really some of the stuff he comes up with is embarrassing for the club.

Quality counter attacking goal.

Madrid are goal down.

Looooooool at the guy running on the pitch and jumping into the goal net.

Pepe being Pepe against Levante. Hope this thug gets banned once again for 10 games. I just hate him. Madrid can do lot better than Dive Maria and Wannabe CB Pepe.
