I remember reading your first Limerick save last year, was amazing what you managed to achieve with them. :)
I was just wondering, when you're training your players, what individual training do you have them on? Role or individual stats?\
Loving it so far, KIU!
Thanks for reading mate, to be honest i leave most of it up to my coaches, Key for most of my players improving is game time, maher played 20 odd games at 16 and the same for Delaney. With the league so poor i can afford to play youngsters with big potential and still get the result now.

April Fixtures

View attachment 376557

7 more wins a row this month in all competitions as the highlight is beating fierce rivals Sligo Rovers 3 times this month including in the All Ireland Cup Semi Final to set up yet another Cup Final against Dundalk.
We had to big victories this month as we put 7 goals past 2 teams with Boadu and Maher getting 16 goals between them this month including Boadu getting 8 goals in 2 games!

League Table

View attachment 376555

We will go top if we win all of our games in hand but Dundalk have started strong having not lost in their first 9 league games of the season including 8 wins.

Player Stats

View attachment 376554

As you can see the Dundalk players have started strong with Keogh still topping the Golden Boot chart whilst we have Feeney topping the assists chart.

All Ireland Cup Final V Dundalk

View attachment 376547

So Keogh scored an early goal before Maher hit an immediate reply and all this happened in the opening 12 minutes, after that though the match had to go all the way to extra time where first Maher and then Feeney wrapped up another Trophy with Dundalk only managing a late consolation goal.

May Fixtures

View attachment 376539

Oh dear! We have our first loss of the season to fallen giants Shamrock Rovers but we do manage to win the other 8 matches including scoring 8 in the opening game of the month.
Only 14 goals between Boadu and Maher this month which would be considered a below par month!

League Table

View attachment 376533

Looks like this is going to be a 2 horse race for the title already this season as Sligo Rovers already start to slip away.
Were currently 5 points behind Dundalk with 2 games in hand so could go top but their side is looking good, currently undefeated in the league this season and full of English Premier League experienced players.

Player Stats

View attachment 376530

Keogh is flying at the moment and Boadu cant keep up whilst we have 3 players in the top 5 for assists but Dundalk's Sean Scannell currently tops the pile.

Brady And Ba Out Injured

View attachment 376528View attachment 376527

So with quite a few recent injuries I decided to sort out a couple of deals with the window opening game with both coming from Man City.

First off Limerick Legend Boadu will be staying with us for another season, His loan will end a day before his Man City contract expires so lets hope we can get the permanent deal once that happens.

View attachment 376526

The other signing was simply incredible as we manage to sign Man City and Spain Legend David Silva on a free transfer!

4 wins out of 5 this month as we start June with huge back to back league matches against Title Rivals Dundalk as we first off beat them in a highscoring affair 5-4 before struggling through a more cautious second match which ended 1-1.

League Table

So Dundalk are still top by 5 points but we do have 3 games in hand on them at the moment.

Player Stats

Dundalk are still dominating the charts at the moment but i guess we have played 3 games less than them so far this season.

Been following this thread for a while now...has inspired me to try my hand at the challenge that is Limerick FC! Started one with the 14.3.0 patch so very different free transfers available at the start. Still managed to get Behan and Flood though :D

What he must of thought when he turned up in Limerick!

Thanks mate, been loving the save at the moment so just pumping out the updates, I remember last years Limerick save i didnt start until a few weeks before fm14 was coming out so it didnt last past 11 seasons when that came out but i would love to do this one for 20 plus season.s

I have the inside knowledge of who to sign from last years save! As everyone has such small contracts to start with you can practically sign anyone that has a good season the year before, My trick used to be scouting the Leagues Best Eleven each season to see if i missed anyone thats how i nabbed Byrne and Lynch on frees.

Thanks for reading.

July 2019 - Europe

Summer Transfer Window

Players In

So i picked up a couple of young English players from Man City and Liverpool who will hopefully become first team players in the next few seasons, Well Nuttall may have to play behind Maher!

Joe Nuttall - ST

View attachment 376143

Players Out

So i sold 5 players in the end who were at one time or another supposed first team players but never really made it for us and were not getting the game time this season.
We brought in almost ?2Million with Pickford, Byrne, Poyet, Nyatanga and Kelly all leaving the club and freeing up some of wages.

Champions League 2nd Qualifying rnd

1st Leg V Buducnost - Away

View attachment 376141

A 7-0 demolition away from home as Boadu and Maher both get hattricks with the second leg now just a formality.

2nd Leg V Buducnost - Home

View attachment 376140

A dominant display but we didnt get the goals like last time although Silva scored and our recent youth intake winger Barry also grabbed his first goal for the club.

Champions League 3rd Qualifying Rnd

1st Leg V M.Haifa - Home

View attachment 376138

Well it wasnt looking good as we went 2-0 down early on at home and then Sheehan got sent off but some how we managed to turn it around with midfielder Evans first off getting a goal back before Ogilvie hit a late equalizer.

Right up next how we got on domestically in July including the Munster Senior Cup Final

Munster Senior Cup Final V Cobh Wanderers

View attachment 375995

Well you dont expect to win many Finals 8-0 but it shows how weak the other teams in this Competition are as Boadu and Feeny both get hattricks with Maher having to settle for a paltry one goal.

View attachment 375994

July Fixtures

View attachment 375993

So it was buisness as usual in the league as we win all 5 games in a row but they were not such easy games as i rested players in between and before the big Europe ties and it showed as we only just beat Shamrock and Bohemians whilst we did manage to beat Title Rivals Sligo Rovers

League Table

View attachment 375992

Well this could be one of the easiest Title Races we have had in a long while after recent seasons where Dundalk and Sligo Rover have had vast win streaks we are already 7 points clear with 2 games in hand with most of the teams having around 10 games to go.

Player Stats

View attachment 375991

Those **** Dundalk players are keeping us off the top spots for both the Golden Boot and the assists charts, I was recently offered Dundalk's best player Samuelsen although he wasnt good enough for our team i was tempted to pinch him just so they could use him!

Champions League 3rd Qualifying rnd

2nd Leg V M.Haifa - Away

View attachment 375989

Well it wasnt looking good with Haifa racing into an early 2-0 lead but after i gave our side a kick up the backside at half time we managed to score 3 goals in the second half to their won meaning we drew on the night but won the tie 5-5 on away goals.

Champions League Playoffs Draw

View attachment 375987

Ouch! We draw Anderlecht arguably one of the better teams in the draw as it looks like our path to the Group Stages this season will be the toughest yet.

Worse Still As Feeney Will Miss The Games Through Injury

View attachment 375986

Champions League Playoffs

1st Leg V Anderlecht - Away

View attachment 375985

Well its not looking good as first Sheehan scores an own goal before they go 2-0 up, then David Silva picks up a knock and will miss the second leg.
The only saving grace was young winger Harrison Barry grabbing a late goal to help out in the second leg.

2nd Leg V Anderlecht - Home

View attachment 375984

This match was all over before half time as the goals came thick and fast with an own goal sealing Anderlecht's fate as we make the Group stages for the 3rd year running.

Champions League Group Stage Draw

View attachment 375982

A tough group draw but i would like to think we can steal a point here and there, a few injuries are going to hit us though with Delaney, Silva and Feeney all likely to not play in September.

August 2019 - Domestic

A double edged sword for Feeney this month as he breaks the record for most assists in a league season before going off injured.

View attachment 375980View attachment 375979

August Fixtures

View attachment 375978

So it was 3 wins and a draw in the league this month as Bray Wanderers manage to steal a draw from us whilst we destroyed Shelbourne in the League Cup Semi Final to set up yet another Dundalk Final.

League Table

View attachment 375977

So despite dropping points this month were still 5 points clear with 2 games in hand and only have 9 games left in the league this season.

Player Stats

View attachment 375976

Well at least Feeney is top of the assists charts as we start to get overrun by Dundalk players in all the stat charts with former Striker Mehmet jumping above Boadu and Maher in the race for the Golden Boot

So domestically it was 6 wins from 6 including smashing 6 past St Pat's 2 games in a row but as you can see Chelsea destroyed us in the Champions League with the only slightly saving grace being Demba Ba scoring against his former club.

League Table

View attachment 375699

13 points clear at the top with 5 games to go as we all but secure another title with the next aim reaching the 100 league goals tally.

Player Stats

View attachment 375697

Feeney still tops the assists charts whilst Keogh has struggled in front of goal recently allowing Maher and Boadu to start to creep up on him, Hopefully a big finish from Maher will see him retain his Golden Boot

We came from behind to Sligo to draw 3-3 and set up the replay, So it didnt quite go according to plan but heres to another 100 games.

October Fixtures

View attachment 375515

One of my worse months in charge of Limerick in a long while as we win just 2 out of 8 matches, with 2 poor losses in the Champions League to go along with highscoring draws against Cork, Dundalk and Sligo Rovers twice.

But did it affect our league standing for the end of the season?

League Table

View attachment 375514

So despite all those draws to end the season we finish 12 points clear at the top of the table ahead of Dundalk.

Top Goalscorer - Denzeil Boadu - 49 Goals

So he pips Maher to the post by one goal with 49 goals in just over 60 games an average rating just shy of 7.9, Im desperate to agree a contract with him once his loan and contract are up with Man City next summer as he has scored a crazy 121 goals in 3 seasons on loan with us so far!

Player of the Year - Val Feeney

View attachment 375396

So 30 goals and 35 assists for most clubs would see you as the top goalscorer and top assists maker but he got neither! Hes still instrumental in our success and had one of the highest average ratings over the whole season.

Young Player of the Year - Thomas Maher

View attachment 375395

Relegated down to 3rd this season on the most important player at the club with 48 goals and 25 assists despite missing around 10 games this season, He also has managed to break into the National Team something none of the other Irish Limerick Players have been able to do so far.

you're doing great as usual :)

wanted to try the Irish league so started a save with Derry City and Northern Ireland NT a la San Marino...what can I say... TOO... MANY... GAMES! seriously how many games in a season in ireland!? and if you go deep in all competitions you have periods with like 5 games in a week.. crazy.. with european football since first season and the NT games...it's just too much for me ;)
