Sad to see Insua go and Aurellio think they both were decent and now he has to buy 2 left backs to replace them? whats the point. Very worrying times but lets see what he has in store..

I wouldn't be surprised to see Konchesky at Liverpool next year -- depending on his value.

Also some youngsters promoted maybe? That young right back who played a couple of times last year looks to have a great future -- I don't know his name.

Darby? He was slated to start at leftback for the cancelled friendly. Very decent prospect.

That could be him -- did he play right-back in a european fixture last season?

I just did some research -- Martin Kelly

Yeah, Fiorentina. Started against Reading too. He's a decent prospect.

Odd rumour being talked about by some is that Liverpool have been training with a 3-3-2-2 formation (ie 3 centrebacks, wingbacks, holding midfielder, and two attacking midfielders playing off two strikers). Pure scuttlebutt but made me think a bit about options with the team.

Ah Kelly, had a cracking match against Lyon before he got injured. He played left back when he was on loan last season. He's actually a centre-back, but he's a fantastic talent.

That's the one -- he was brilliant in the Lyon match.

The formation you've mentioned would be interesting to see in practice -- could be a belter with the Anfield crowd roaring them forward.

Given that the only centreback we've got at the club who can pass is Agger, it seems to be reliant on him not breaking down this season if it's genuinely what's in Mr.Hodgson's head.

Think it's bunk as a rumour but we'll see, as with the Joe Cole rumour.

Darby also played left back for Swindon when he was on loan including in the play off final.

Roy has said its his main priority to sign a left back, and he has also said he'll be looking to bring in English talent... Wayne Bridge? Warnock return? Even Baines???

Insua is a good and very talented player, sucks to see him go. Don't really think they can find someone better than him for that money. Hopefully one of the young lads is ready to step up
