fortress Anfield works like a charm. Bring on the second leg!!! :)

And we're through tot he Quarter Finals. Solid defensive display saw us through a tricky
away-leg. Those of you who were hoping for a Liverpool vs AC Milan will be sorely
disappointed as they've been drawn on our side of the bracket. We drew Schakle in the
Quarter finals, who I'm not that worried about having beaten them last yea to reach the final.

Nice solid away win. Always nice to keep a clean sheet.

Another solid away win. Firminho playing the part of hero as he bagged the points late on.
I've also started incorporating Mendy into the first team more as I look to give him opportunities
to impress me. He's been doing well for the reserves and I'm keen for him to bring his goals
into the first team.

Those away wins have moved us up the table into 2nd place and with 8 games to go,
only 9 points off... do I dare to dream?

Congrats for knock-outing BMG ! And for the 2nd place... ;)
I think you can beat Schalke,i guess we'll see soon enough.

Great job on beating Gladbach so convincingly over two games, you got some nice form going in the league aswell. Finishing first is going to be difficult as it isn't in your hands but with your current form I'd say that a second place is definately on the cards.

Anything can happen in the those last 8 games!

Aye. It's an unknown :)

I think I can get the better of them. I did last season and I've strengthened since then

Aye, I'll be delighted with our league performance even if we just finish 2nd. That's one **** of an improvement from a 7th finish last season. Progress is being made and We're seeing quick changes :)

Though we are in a title race. I seriously didn't expect it but Chelsea have dropped enough points for us to have an outside chance. I have to fight for it. What Liverpool fan wouldn't! :)

Liverpool starting to look like an unstoppable train !!! Well done !! Fingers crossed for the champion !!

Just read the whole story and it felt ages to read but it was worth it :P

As a Liverpool your liverpool stories' make me feel hope that glory can return one day

Víctor Valdés has been immense for us ever since he joined at the start of the
season but at 35, I think I'll only be able to get one more season out of him. His
heroic displays have earned us at least 12 points this season and I'll be sad to see
him hang up his boots despite only being at he club for 18 months. Though we today
negotiated a deal with an English club for their promising goalkeeper and with his
signature secure, we have our new long-term replacement for the Liverpool no.1 shirt.

He's been in simply inspired form for Stoke this season and he's a large part of why they're
sitting in an impressive 9th position in the Barclays Premier League. He'll be on Cup and
Champions League duty next season as I look to help him settle into Liverpool and the next 10
years of service. Hopefully we can help him compete at the top level of European football and
challenge Joe Heart for the England no.1 shirt.

Fantastic signing, not only is he English (yes I like it when clubs based in a country also have several players from that country) but he is also an excellent goalkeeper who's got years ahead of him.

I always try to keep a domestic player bias; not only helps with the home groan players rule but if you cna have a sizable squad of world class players all playing in the national team and they do well at the Euros or the Wordl Cup, we get a nice happy moral boost before the season :)

I'm clever me :P

Disappointed not to get the win but still. A point form a tough game is good enough

Nice solid win. Ings continued his goal scoring form and has all but ensured he has a future
at Liverpool. I'll have to have a good think about my options up front as Benteke, Origi (on loan)
Ings and Sturridge are too many strikers. I only play with one man up front and with Mendy looking
like a man possessed at Under age level, it's only a matter of time before he's knocking on t eh
first team door.

So late in the game. Schalke steal a narrow lead in the tie.

I could have killed Moreno. Straight red card in his first challenge only 2 minutes into the game.
I was livid but Daniel Sturridge did what he dose; scored important goals!

Credit to Schalke, they were defensively amazing in this game. I threw the kitchen sink at them
knowing just one goal would put us through via the away-goal rule but they resisted all our attacks
and kept us at arms leg. Professional display by the German outfit.

White Heart Lane is a difficult place to go and get a result and I was very proud of the boys.
A good solid result to keep us in 2nd place... and there was a nice surprise waiting for me
in my mailbox when I got out of the match.

"This game is easy" - Daniel Sturridge

Mathematically speaking, we could still win the title. Chelsea dropped points to
Crystal Palace (irony? :P ) so we still have a chance. Though we have an almost
identical run in as Chelsea so I don't expect them to drop more points.

We will fight until the last second of the season; as would be expected with the title
still technically not won yet, but with our alternative being 2nd place, I'd have bitten
your hand off at the start of the season for that, also considering our bad start.

Unlucky against Schalke but looking good in the league. Fingers crossed Chelsea do drop some points.

May 7th 2017... The beginning of a new Era!

Mendy has been doing well in the Reserves so I gave him his first Senior start against
Derby County in the Premier League. And the kid impressed the **** out of me!!!

View attachment 212235
We were unlucky not to win the game and Sows late goal spoiled the fairy-tale. Mendy, on his first
start nearly netter the winning goals.

Love the signing of Butland! He should be your new No1 for years to come.

Also, who won that Champions League final?

Aye, that's the plan. Sort out my Goalkeeping situation nice and early. I also love how I got to solve it organically by replacing an aging Valdes :)

Champions League final hasn't been played yet. Will update it when it's finished.
