Here we go then, the final month of our first ever Premier League season, the final month and our hopes of survival still remained in our own hands which is a good place to be at this club. We have just three league games remaining as we faced home matches against Southampton and Swansea whilst having to travel to high flying Nottingham Forest. Could we stay in the division, the financial gain would be massive if we could. One point was needed and we'd guarantee our own survival, fail to win any and its out of our hands.

GnVhxrA.png

Loss, loss, loss, that wasn't what we needed and the fact we didn't pick up any points in the final three games means our survival is out of our hands and we'd have to wait on other results to see if we were set to stay in this division. We welcomed Southampton and slipped to a two one defeat, Oliveira initially brought us back level moments before the break at one a piece, but we still fell short. A trip to Europa League chasing Nottingham Forest saw us get hammered four one, again Oliveira bought us level early after we went one nil down initially. And a third defeat on the bounce and now win for five games as we welcomed Swansea to end our first season here with a two one defeat, Schepens netting our last goal of season one in the Premier League.

Nx1RXq9.png

And despite not winning in our final five league games and losing the last three on the bounce, we had survived in the Premier League! We finished sixteenth and take home a prize fund of nine million which will definitely help us go forward. Sheffield Wednesday go down picking up just twenty points all season and four league wins. Reading also join them whilst West Brom go down by a single point. We finished with the joint fourth worse goal difference this season bu perhaps expected as we survived by five points come the end. Winning ten, drawing eight and losing twenty matches this season.

nqLlWHd.png

Remember that tycoon investor we had interested earlier in the season, well we didn't need him as we've grown massively this season. The joys of being in the Premier League has seen us start the season almost ten million pounds in the red to finishing it with over sixty million pounds in the black in our bank balance. And the board have rewarded us this summer with an even bigger warchest than last season, fifty million pounds to spend whilst doubling our current wage budget almost! This summer could see a massive transformation whilst I'm also going to suggest we improve our training and youth facilities.

Our second summer in the Premier League was always going to be a big, busy one for us as we began to hit some proper money and the board showed their trust in me by giving me fifty million to spend. Its been busy indeed in the transfer front, news front and the football front whilst there was also the job front which turns up something interesting this summer. Now we're moving forward and hopefully I've strengthened the squad massively this year to really help us fight a bit easier against the relegation battle that we'll definitely be in again this year.

mSJmXF7.png

Huge, unexpected job news came this summer and not for club either, as international teams came begging for me to take the reigns, without me even applying for the posts. France, Ireland and England all approached me to take control, in the end I took the England post for obvious reasons, I was in two minds but decided I could build a better reputation for myself and hopefully more players will show their trust in me over the years. Oh and they're paying me seventy six thousand pounds per year.

84tvHkV.png

More news to come out of the summer, firstly the sponsorship table shows us just how far we are currently off the 'big teams'. Manchester City took home nine hundred and eight million in sponsorship last season, we took just over four hundred thousand pounds, the difference is crazy. Even the average is up at forty five and a half million pounds. Better news, we're upgrading the youth facilities again, the board turned down us improving our training facilities this time.

SoFHehQ.png

Fifty million to spend and I spent just over seventeen million pounds of that. Another very busy window for us saw eleven new faces arrive whilst plenty left either through retirement, free transfers, paid deals or loan deals as we made the most of a heavy summer. We broke our own transfer record bringing in Luis Acuna from Lyon for seven and a half million pounds. A big name you may see there is Renato Sanchez, an aging Renato Sanchez but he still will be a class act. We've finally got a feeder club too, so I sent a load of youth players out to Stevenage where hopefully they'll gain first team action. The only player not seen below is Daniel Mateus who is a youth project. Fuba still hasn't got a work permit and has gone out on loan again.

SxmDXgI.png

These are ten of our eleven new faces, as I said Daniel Mateus isn't here, but you can see they are a massive step in the right direction without us spending over the top prices as well. Really happy to bag Pouget on a cheap deal to be our new number one with Fuba out still. Also Renato Sanchez will still pull the strings at his age and is a great transfer on a free deal along with the big money signing of Acuna who will hopefully lead the front line for us.

XpEDYkE.png

This is definitely the strongest squad I've ever had possession over at London City FC and I feel confident in all areas of the pitch currently. With plenty of options especially for rotation to I think we can mount a serious challenge for cup runs and to fight the drop zone. Some of the weaker players are here only for rotation and back up but will probably leave come the following summer.

V3FhW9M.png

A mixed, challenging summer on the pitch which included a tour of the USA and a couple bigger matches against RW Essen, Hamburg and Panathinaikos. Hopefully the squad can build and gel quickly and we'll be fighting for points instantly in this league.

Next Update: London City FC - August 2032

A very busy summer. I see you have a decent dof lol.
The quality you have brought in defo looks a step up. Hopefully its not so much of a fight this year.
Any progress on sponsorship for this season? How much of a bonus did you get for your league finish?

It was indeed Tracz and I definitely think we've improved on what we already had! Good old Freddie Sears! Nothing that I know of on the sponsorship front whilst we received around £10million from our PL finish.

And so our second season in the Premier League has started and it was important we didn't face the dreaded second season syndrome now and get relegated after our hard work, we've seen how good the money is here and vital to stay in the top division. Four games to kick start season seventeen with three league games and the start of another season in the EFL Cup, could we match or better our Semi Final appearance last season...

wCiYLsg.png

A superb start for us this season, we had a kind start to the fixture list with us facing two newly promoted sides in Barnsley and Middlesbrough. A trip to Barnsley saw us win two one to get our season started on a high note. Dunn and Martinez (og) secured a comeback and all three points. Back at home we welcomed Middlesbrough and beat them three nil with Webb netting early whilst Nowocien struck one before the break from the spot and a second later in the match. It was back to back three nil wins as we welcomed FC Halifax in the EFL Cup Second Round, Dunn, Nowocien and Acuna netting for us. We ended August with a trip to Nottingham Forest who finished so highly last season, lost out two one after Nowocien put us ahead, four goals in four games for him.

mQZnxHJ.png

We've flown out the blocks early on and sit up in sixth after the opening three league games, admittedly we've played the easier two matches of the season but hopefully a bit of fighting spirit from this early start we've made. A long way to go, thirty five matches but if we can carry on we should hopefully pick up a higher finish than last season.

** I've decided I'll update my England progress at the end of each calendar year, except for big tournaments (World Cup and Euros) where I'll update our form up to the competition and then play through it with regular updates.

Having made a strong start in August which saw us pick up two league wins, one defeat and victory in the EFL Cup Second Round, we headed into September full of confidence at the moment. I had a couple of games as England manager to kick off the month but they'll be updated on their own at the end of the calendar year. Three league games and an EFL Cup Third round tie awaited us in September.

U9Z3IUt.png

A tough start to September saw us struggle to get going but ending it well. As we welcomed Liverpool its still unlikely for us to get something from the big teams and that was the case, losing two nil. A trip to Leicester saw us struggle again and lose two nil once again. However we soon turned the corner, beating Middlesbrough two nil in the EFL Cup Third Round as all four of our goals came in the second half from Dunn, McGregor, Baldwin and Nowocien. Finally ending the month welcoming Newcastle and winning three one, McGregor and two for Nowocien secured the victory.

JB4FdaW.png

Tenth in the league after our opening six games and for now that is very pleasing indeed. Manchester United are the early league leaders whilst Everton are following up last seasons superb return to the top flight and sit second early on. Whilst it is early days, our main aim is survival again but I'd love to be able to beat our sixteenth place finish last season.

October would begin competitively on my birthday so I was hoping the boys could kick the celebrations off with a win, we went through the month facing four more Premier League games as well as another EFL Cup game, a win could see us reach the Quarter Finals for the second year running as we went up against fellow Premier League side Newcastle.

Pr7Lf5o.png

An expected win to kick the month off, but that proved to be our only win as we then faced three London derbys and came away with just one point from them in the league. A trip to Swansea saw us beat the early league strugglers two one. Both our goals coming in the first half with Nowocien and an own goal taking us the victory. We welcomed Chelsea and narrowly lost out two one, already two down Johnston bought one back for us, we couldn't do enough to grab a point though. Spurs then beat us comfortably four nil before Newcastle knocked us out the EFL Cup Fourth Round, winning four one. We ended the month with a goalless draw at home against West Ham.

UotGMry.png

Still sitting around the mid table mark with us eleventh after ten league games and sitting on thirteen points so far and its looking likely at this early stage we'll beat our forty point target and hopefully another season of survival but its early so could go wrong yet. Everton begin to slip down the league table and now sit fifth whilst United remain on top of the pile. We could do with playing Burnley soon, they're rock bottom with ten defeats from their opening ten matches, surely an easy three points for us, not until December, though, we do face Huddersfield next month along with Man City and Watford who are both close to us in the table.

Quality mate!! Just a quick one. How did you put your own badge in?

Thanks Banger93 I created the club in the editor rather than the create a club mode otherwise you can't. Then just found the badge, went into one of the logo packs I had already downloaded, edited the 'config' file to read from the club ID number and then pasted the badge, under that number in the pack.

The penultimate month of another calendar year is here and were edging closer to seeing out another year as 2032 is almost there. Our first whole calendar year in the Premier League and its been successful enough for us. November is a short month with us just facing three league games and it was important we got some points on the board in a small month.

9yxf3EZ.png

A superb, unbeaten month, if you told me two seasons ago when we were still in the Championship we'd beat Manchester City in the Premier League in two years time, I wouldn't believe you. We beat Huddersfield away from home to start the month with a three one win, simply brilliant here with Oliveira, Bolton and Robin netting for us. Our only home game in November saw us welcomed Manchester City and bet them two one, Nowocien struck a brace for us to secure the victory. We ended the month with a battling display away at Stoke, drawing nil nil.

L985a5m.png

Upto tenth after November and we're really causing people to talk about us this year! Much higher than we're meant to be and we're predicted to be but we'll continue battling away month by month to pick up points on a regular basis. United still set the pace with Chelsea and Liverpool hot on their tail along with Arsenal not that far away. Amazingly we're only five points outside the Euro spots some how. Burnley finally pick up their first win of the season against West Ham.

Here we are then, our first whole calendar year in the Premier League has come to an end and it marks a successful enough stint as we haven't been relegated in our first season and our second season we're looking likely to stay up if we continue the way we've started the year. We had a busy December to cope with first with seven Premier League matches to play through which will take us past the halfway stage, some interesting news popped up to.

ZzQ5QsX.png

We have finally been taken over by a new board and I have kept my job, can you imagine if I lost it after the past sixteen years! Boy I'd be ******. They're not going to pump money into the club, well, into the transfers at this stage anyway but the good news is they have decided to upgrade both the training and youth facilities which is superb, we're only moving forward with these upgrades.

YYt5i6a.png

A busy December indeed as the cold weather set in, luckily we managed to perform okay, picking up seven points importantly against the team we needed to. We welcomed Watford and drew two all against them, coming back from behind twice with Oliveira and Robin both netting, the latter just seven minutes before the end. Three defeats on the bounce followed as we traveled to league leaders Man United, Webb netted our goal in a three one defeat before losing back to back home games against Southampton and Everton two nil. Two more home games followed but two wins thankfully, beating Barnsley four nil, Nowocien, Oliveira, Eggert and Johnston all on target for us. We then scored four for a second game running in a narrow four three victory over Burnley, this time Dunn netting twice, Felix and Webb also on target. The calendar year ended with a three nil victory over Arsenal.

hQNaJ5c.png

We go into the New Year in twelfth and as you can see at the top, the board are very happy with that to date. We're over halfway through the league season and overachieving from where we should be. Still need to be aware though as we're only nine points above the drop zone so can easily get caught up in the relegation battle yet.

Back in July I think it was, I took charge of the England who were ranked 25th in the world at the time of my appointment. Its a little low admittedly but it was a change of scenery and see what comes of it. Mainly hoping it'd improve my reputation as a manager and build better knowledge with more players showing trust in me. Since taking charge I've faced six matches, four competitive games and two friendlies, heres the yearly round up since my time in charge.

bjXr8Z5.png

Six matches and six wins since my time here and its been a very successful start to international management. We had a mixture of European League division matches and friendlies saw us perform brilliantly. We picked up an opening win over Sweden, two nil before beating France in a friendly three one. Three European League matches then awaited us with three more wins, two against Portugal, three one and four one with us beating Sweden three nil in between those results. We finished the calendar year with an easy game, beating St Lucia three nil.

P47mycD.png

The European League Division, whatever that even is, saw us win four out of four and take a plus goal difference, the only country to finish positive from our group as Portugal finish second with four points and Sweden bottom with one who get relegated to Group 2. We will face Holland in the Semi Finals of those now, I don't know if it even counts as a trophy if we win it. Our World Cup Qualifying will begin in eighty one days for the 2034 World Cup which will give us something to aim for as I plan on still being in charge of the national team by then.

We're into another calendar year, no surprises there as we hit 2033 in the game now. We've been pretty solid so far this season, occupying a strong mid table position lingering in and out of the top ten but we're happy with how thins are going so far. No we'd get to a couple busier months again as the FA Cup kicks off in January.

bPT5IIO.png

We opened the calendar year with a win but it was our only one in the league all month, the two other green dots are FA Cup progression which is good, but we need points on the board really. A good showing against Middlesbrough saw us come back from one down to win three one, Dunn (pen), Webb and Allen on target for us. We narrowly lost at home to Nottingham Forest one nil before traveling to fellow Premier League side Barnsley in the FA Cup third round who we beat three nil. Dunn scoring another penalty with Webb and Johnston also on target. No surprises seeing Liverpool beat us three nil, we missed out narrowly against Leicester, losing three two before ending the month with an FA Cup Fourth Round win over Sheffield Wednesday of the Championship. Both our goals came in the opening five minutes.

mDChc4d.png

Down to thirteenth as we drop just the one league place over the opening month of this calendar year. As long as we survive in the league its good news for the club, if we can beat our previous best finish of sixteenth its an added bonus and continues our run of forever finishing better the following season. We're currently eight points clear of sixteenth so its looking okay so far along with being twelve points clear of the drop zone now.

Looking good! did you not add to the squad over Jan with the rest of that big transfer budget?

Great thread and career so far. Could you possibly show us a couple of the big EPL teams to see if any current players are still hanging around or even show a selection of the big players in how they got on the rest of their careers e.g. Ozil, Sanchez, Aguero, Rashford, etc.

Thanks TheWanderer still a long way to go but hopefully we can pull through this season again! Nope, didn't strengthen this January, couldn't find anything.

Thanks a lot jonnylaverty I appreciate it. I can show you a few players here: Ronaldo, Bale, Messi, Aguero, Rashford, Rashford history

Into February and with four competitive months of football to go we're really knuckling down and focusing on finishing inside the top sixteen this time around to beat our previous best last season finish. We've also began a strong FA Cup run, with the views of reaching the final within the next few seasons and getting some European football on the board, not yet though.

uxny1R5.png

Another mixed month, we beat Swansea as we had to, a couple of heavy defeats though. And its one of the heavy defeats we start with as Newcastle thumped us at St James Park, four one. We then welcomed Swansea and beat them two nil with a brace from Arsenio. We then finally got one over on Everton, in the FA Cup Fifth round, beating them two one as Schepens netted and Vranic in the final minute to send us into the Sixth Round against Chelsea. The month ended against Chelsea with us losing six one!

0f20Vli.png

We are thirteenth and its getting close down near the bottom now. Burnley seem all but gone unless they can pul something out the bag with eleven games to go. We're only eleven points outside the relegation zone now whilst we are tied on points with West Ham and Stoke in twelfth and eleventh place. I'd say at this stage eleventh is the very best we could finish this season and realistically seventeenth would be the lowest.

Two and a half month of competitive football to go and three updates to play through as we head into March still hovering around mid table, in thirteenth place. A quiet month domestically as we faced just three games, two in the league and one in the FA Cup as we attempted to knock Chelsea out the Sixth Round. I also had two matches with England which you'll see at the end of the calendar year, a long wait but its not important for the career. The youth intake was here too.

OEKIprL.png

Despite increasing our youth and training facilities yet again we still aren't finding a gem just yet. As soon as we do he'll be a big part of the future of the club, until then we keep searching.

VZXPDR1g.png

A couple decent results here, in fairness all three results were really good for us, even the three one defeat against Chelsea. A busy game against Spurs at home to open the month saw us draw three a piece Webb had put us ahead, we trailed two one at the break. Dunn hit us back level before Sanches fired us in front, we conceded late on but stole a point. A trip to Chelsea saw us lose three one in the FA Cup Sixth Round but not until extra time. Webb pulled us back level in the second half and we held strong, but didn't have the legs in injury time. Finally welcomed Hudersfield to end March and won two nil, Robin and Webb on target.

4mhUCnV.png

Up to twelfth in the league but its remaining close, we are only behind eleventh place Middlesbrough on goal difference with a five point gap opening up then. Behind us we have three points over West Ham, with Stoke and Newcastle only a further point behind. The table then opens up to over twelve points to Barnsley, I'm confident we're beating sixteenth this season.

Crazy that during your whole career there hasn't been one really decent regen come through your academy! You'd think even with a poor academy a couple would come good just by chance!

The penultimate month of season seventeen and our second season in the Barclays Premier League, although we weren't there yet, we are looking good at progressing our best ever league finish yet again, for a seventeenth straight season. However we had a batch of tough fixtures to go still. With us only in the league now we faced five of our remaining nine league games throughout April.

IMhbbDK.png

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, the collapse is beginning as we pick up just one point from a possible fifteen throughout April. Three straight three nil defeats came as we traveled to Manchester City and then West Ham before returning home to face Stoke, we just couldn't hit the target or find the back of the net. A trip to Watford saw us grab our only point of the month in a two all draw as Webb netted a first half brace. The poor month ended with a three one defeat away at Southampton, Nowocien was our goal scorer this time, but not a good run in at all.

8BpypMB.png

The poor run of just one point from fifteen in our last five league games has now seen us slip to fourteenth and we now have just four league games remaining this season. We're five points clear of Swansea and Newcastle who are in fifteenth and sixteenth behind us. I'm hoping we're not going to bottle our strong start to the season and take a step backwards. We've still got to beat relegated Burnley whilst it looks set to be Man Unites season.

tSAhYZo.png

Well, hows that for a run in!? We take a trip to fifth place Everton who, lets be honest, we have an atrocious record against bar the recent FA Cup victory over them. We then welcome fourth place Arsenal and league leaders, soon to be league champions Manchester United. Before we end the season by traveling to already relegated Burnley.

Season seventeen is now coming to an end as we go into May, our final month of our second season in the Barclays Premier League and it looks like we're set to avoid the dreaded second season syndrome. We're 'all but safe' this season bar a point or two which I hope we can get from other teams messing up. We had a tough run in this month with both Arsenal and Man united coming to us this month.

cEqONQ8.png

Our poor run of form continued, infact, we ended up with a eight match run without a win until the season ended on a high. We went to high flying Everton and lost three nil before getting smashed at home by Arsenal, losing five one after Webb put us ahead after two minutes. We blew a two one lead in the first half over Manchester United, the league champions to lose three two, Connolly and Nowocien netting our goals. The season ended with an away trip to relegated Burnley and we beat them three nil, all three goals in the second half as Connolly, Johnston and Oliveira netted for us to finish on a high.

bAcg3og.png

We did it, we beat last seasons finish of sixteenth place as we hold off Swansea in fifteenth and Newcastle in sixteenth by two points in the end. A new best points tally in the Premier League for us of forty one points from thirty eight matches. We were still five points behind Middlesbrough but its a big step forward for the club again. At the top Man United win the title whilst Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal round up the top four. Southampton and Man City take the Europa League spots. Top twelve finish next year? baby steps

Xd5vbh4.png

Some real good news come the end of the season once again with the new board. Once again the youth facilities are going to undergo an upgrade and hopefully we're getting somewhere towards state of the art youth facilities whilst the training facilities are already undergoing the upgrade from a couple months ago. The youth recruitment will also undergo an upgrade. Finally the board are pumping more money into our stadium, expanding it by 7,450 seats which will take its capacity up to 22,350. It'll cost us nine million and take a year to complete as we ground share with Fulham this next season.

Financially the club are looking as strong as ever, imagine if we did get that tycoon takeover last season, we'd be rolling in it. However we don't need the extra money now, we're sitting on a seventy million pound bank balance as we made a thirteen million pound profit this season. The board have announced our budgets for the new season to, another forty seven million pounds in the transfer budget with the wage budget set at just under a million pounds. We'll need to get rid of some players to bring some in, as our wage budget is tight as it is and I don't want to adjust it too much and spend out more month by month.
