Make Sunderland Great Again

wow, continuing to get better and better! Where will it end?
Your win % as a manager must be fantastic - well in.

Implement a few oft he tactics you use and seen some steady progress.
Hovering around 12th in the Championship, 6 points off play offs (which for some reason seems like a huge unrealistic target now)

great read, again.

Great going so far, can you put up a pic of your player stats? Like top scorers, assists, ratings etc

This management lark is easy aint it!

Sure is. I don't think I could of asked for a better first save but it helps when your a big club in a low league and have plenty of money to spend to get you back up

What a disappointing draw, teaches me for thinking the game is over. Its never over until the final whistle is blown.

Sunderland V Burton

Leeds v Sunderland

View attachment 29871

A great win against a contender for promotion but they can't stand in our way.

Month Overview

An amazing month where we got a huge win in the cup against Chelsea which wasn't expected but we have turned the Stadium of Light into a fortress. We now have a 2 leg semi final against West Ham with the first leg at home.

A huge month in the league as well where we have now stretched out lead at the top of the table to 15 points.

We have done a wee bit of wheeling and dealing but that will all be revealed in the January update once we've got the month out the way.

A tough start to the month but a penalty gets us the 3 points as the second half was pretty boring.

A bit of rotation for this match but a Tonali goal right at the end sends us through to the fourth round.

Month Overview

Its been a very long month with 8 games taking place with 4 of them being important cup games.

It was a very good month though which has seen us progress to a Carabao Cup Final against Man Utd which is going to be a really tough game.

We have also progressed to the 5th round of the FA Cup which will see us come up against Tottenham.

So January also brings the winter transfer window which saw a bit of movement on players leaving and coming in.

Leaving the club Josh Maja joined Fulham for £6 million, Pape Cheikh left for RB Leipzig for
£6.5 million, Lynden Gooch went to Blackburn for £3.3 million, Jack Whatmough went to Leeds for £3.8 million and finally Andre Wisdom went to Millwall for £2 million.

Joining the club we have Mahmoud Dahoud coming from Dortmund for £9.25 million, Ferran Torres joins from Valencia for £5.25 million and Jesus Vallejo joins from Real Madrid for £2.5 million. All 3 were transfer listed by their respective clubs.

All 3 players joining the club will be going into the starting line up and will be forming the core for the premiership. We are still on the lookout for a striker as nobody outstanding became available within our budgets or wanted to join us.

Sunderland v Aston Villa

View attachment 29282
A great win against Villa with goals coming from all 3 areas of the pitch and Torres getting his first goal for the club.

Stoke v Sunderland

View attachment 29281
Torres is coming to love life early on at the club. But a good Berahino own goal securing the win.

Sunderland v Preston

View attachment 29280Another 3 goals scored and this time was even more impressive that we keep a clean sheet this time.

Middlesbrough v Sunderland

View attachment 29279
A disappointing game but we didn't deserve to win it so its a fair result.

Sunderland v Sheffield Wednesday

View attachment 29278We bounce back with a great win here and sets us up well for the next game.
Carabao Cup Final

Sunderland v Manchester United

View attachment 29277What a match, 4-0 down after 52 minutes and we nearly manage an unbelievable comeback. To get it back to 4-3 is as good as winning in my book as it looked like we were in for a proper gubbing there.

FA Cup 5th Round

Sunderland v Tottenham
View attachment 29276This just shows that we have managed to turn the Stadium of Light into a fortress. We progress to the 6th round.

Barnsley v Sunderland

View attachment 29275
To hold on to get the draw with 10 players was a good enough result for us.

Month Overview
Its been another very long month with 8 games being played within 29 days so its been a match nearly every 3 days for the whole month.

Even though we lost in the cup final we can be very proud of how we performed and nearly pulling off the miracle comeback. We will be given the chance though to get our revenge as we host them at home for the 6th round of the FA Cup.

We also had the youth intake but there was nobody really worth reporting about yet.

Great signings to help you achieve your goals!
Vallejo was a player I brought in myself but for a sum of 7.5million as he was not transfer listed but was unhappy with his playing time at R. Madrid.

managed to be promoted to the premier league after getting play offs on final day of season and beating Swansea on penalties after a bore draw.

back to back promotions!

can see the premier league being a real test as I’ve only got 35mil to spend and players thinking we can’t match their ambitions.

Considering starting a new tactic

5-3-2.

all the best

March

Sunderland v Derby

View attachment 29163
A big win against Derby which secures us a play off spot at the worse. Grant getting a double to get his confidence back.

Rotherham v Sunderland

View attachment 29162
A lot of rotation here to rest players for the next match against Man Utd so the backups did well with the 3 points.

FA Cup Quarter Final
Sunderland v Manchester United
View attachment 29161
Our biggest win of the season here as we get our revenge for the cup final as Tonali comes up with the goods to see us progress to the semi final.

Nottingham Forest v Sunderland

View attachment 29160
The team come into this on a high and they deliver again and more importantly this sees us get automatic promotion.

Month Overview

A nice quiet month with only 4 games which allows everybody a well earned rest.

We get our revenge over Man Utd which sees us travel to Wembely to play Bournmouth in the FA Cup Semi final.

In the league we have now got our automatic promotion which sees us get a transfer budget of £32 million and a wage budget of £960k. We will now start scouring the transfer list to see who we can bring in to improve the squad. We will be mainly looking for a striker, right and left backs and a keeper.

Great job on the promotion. Got some real cash to splash as well so hopefully you can strengthen even more

April

Sunderland v Brighton

View attachment 29032
A rare defeat at home here but we just couldn't get going at all and this was probably a fair result.

FA Cup Semi Final
Bournemouth v Sunderland

View attachment 29031
Who needs strikers on the pitch when you have midfielders and a defender who can fire you to an FA cup final. This was a big win since it wasn't at home.

Reading v Sunderland

View attachment 29030
A bit of rotation after the FA cup and Tammy Abraham smashes it with 4 goals. He might have to be signed for next season if I can.

Sunderland v QPR

View attachment 29029
Grant comes up with 2 goals to get the win and show that Abraham isn't the only striker that can score the goals. With this win also comes the title so we will be going up as champions.

Hull v Sunderland

View attachment 29028
A tougher match than it needed to be since McKenna got sent off and we had 70 minutes with 10 men but Dahoud found the back of the net to get the 3 points for us.

Norwich v Sunderland

View attachment 29027
A great game for the neutrals where we fell behind but managed to rally and get 2 goals in 3 minutes to get the win. Again the strikers not needed and they are being very hot and cold and the moment.

Sunderland v Birmingham

View attachment 29026Pereira with his second goal in two games and its another great win. Its going to a be a good end to the season.

Sunderland v Sheffield Untied

View attachment 29025
This was gutting, only getting a draw with conceding a draw with the final kick of the ball but it was probably a fair result in the end.

Month Overview

Its been an amazing month we reach our Second final of the season and we will be going back to Wembely to face Liverpool in the FA Cup final. Its going to be a really tough ask but we will go and give our best again and see what the outcome is.

In the league its been a fantastic season and we have one game left in May and hopefully we can finish on a high.

FA Cup Final
Liverpool v Sunderland

View attachment 29021
Well our dream is well out of reach here as Liverpool just prove far too strong for us here. the result was expected and we have more than exceeded expectations in the competition this year as even making it to the final was exceptional.

Another great season. Pity you lost both finals, but did great just to get there.
Looking forward to seeing who you bring in for the next season.

At least Stoke have gone up too!
only glory we’ll taste for a while

Season Overview
Another outstanding season for the team. We have managed again to sign some of the most exciting young talent in Europe to help strengthen the team and build a solid foundation for the Premier League.

The league was a walk in the park with us smashing the 100 point mark well before the end of the season. Next season should be tougher but we will be aiming for a mid table finish next year and this team should be able to do it with a couple of new players.

We had two amazing cup runs reaching the finals in both of them but we just weren't able to clear the final hurdle but just pushes us on for next season to try and go the extra step.

View attachment 28939

We need to try and get the attendance up next season to try and bring a bit more cash in to held improve the squad.
