I was looking for a challenge in my new save and decided to go malaga.

For those of you that do not follow La liga Malaga were recently purchased by a Qatar investor and as expected have alot of money to spend.

They have signed a few quality players but still lack top class players. All that can be fixed however with a few good buys.

Just wondering has anyone been sucessful with Malaga and could tell me what money is avaliable In the next couple years or how long it took them to win that first Spanish championship.

I have never managed Malaga, but I am doing very well with Atletico Madrid, but I would suspect a good three to five years until they win it. Barcelona and Real Madrid get into heated battles for the league and often then not are almost unbeatable. At times Barcelona can slip away, but yet dominate.

I am currently second in the league, and Real Madrid have only lost once in the league from at least 23 games. 10 points ahead of me.

On my game Real Madrid finished 5th (first season) so I guess anything is possible!?

Cheers for the advise mate. Think i might just employ a brick wall formation against them. Similar to Inter at the nou camp and play for the 0-0 or damge limitation.

Yep on my saves Real quite often finish from about 5th to 10th. Barca finished 8th one time too and Real ran away with the league by about 15 points.

Wtf does this always happen ?? i thought real and varca would be almost unbeatable. Atleast for a few season's anyway.

doing a real madrid game and 2 months ago i was 8 points behind barca after loosing el classico 3-0, well its now January 10th and is down to 4 points due to barca loosing twice since the classico :D

Sadly Malaga do not really get much money. I played 4 seasons with them and it took a lot of wheeling and dealing to get the funds required to make a team that competed for European spots. With a better tactic I am sure you could have done better with the squad I had, but yes the money isn't really there. You would think their would be some Middle Eastern oil money available.

IRL, wait for some years. hopefully they get a europa league spot to boost ambions next year.

is the owner goona be rich like Man city's one ?

edit the first season it will be helpful for you by editor, you can give you your team malaga, a big transfer budget, and wage budget and can play with the balance, increase or decrease it

Well they game 11th last season so yes that could be possible this year.

The owner is similar to Man city's one yes. They have already purchesed players such as baptista, demichales and toulalan.

remeber thats how man city started. Not huge starts but still big names

You should be able to after a couple of seasons. AI controlled teams usually make stupid buys, so if you can make a good tactic and some great buys, I don't see why not.

On FM Malaga have a sugar daddy yes, but it's a background one, I can't remember exactly what that means but I know it's not the one who gives tons of money for no reason (foreground) or the one that just keeps writing off debt (underwriter), so umm yeah :P

There's a save on this site , 2100 and beyon where Valencia wins 12 la ligas in a row or something like that xD

I am managing Malga, and in my first season (11.3 with demichelis and julio baptista ) i managed to get them nr 6, so i recomend you to be this is as they are fun to manage ;)

After my first season I became 2nd, a few points behind Barcelona, but I had huge debts as I bought players like Alexis Sanchez, Raphael Varane, Gameiro and Serge Aurier. But it is possible to become champion in spain after 2 season. In my Real Sociedad save I became champion in my 3rd season.

In real life, Malaga is nothing like City. When the new owners came in they spent big. They didn't bring in the Silvas and Dzekos, but instead spent in on overpaying average players like Jo, Gareth Barry, Lescott, Santa Cruz for around 60m. They bought Robinho for 30m and Tevez for 40m.

Compare that to Malaga who spent 3.5 on Baptista, around 10m on Toulalan (absolute steal), DeMichelis most likely cost less than 5m (cannot find a price), Ruud for free, Mathiejsen for 6-7m. They have been bringing in a lot of players, but they have been smart in their transfer and not overpaying like City did.

well maybe the tactic is going first for ecperienced players, like u mention. (have to at Toulalan was a steal ;p ) and later on they will go for the future dzekos , silvas, tevez, harts, on whoevere it is.

IRL noone is going to disrupt Real Madrid or Barca, they will always have 1st and 2nd position.. The battle will be for 3rd spot, as there are great contenders - Sevilla,Atletico Madrid, Athletic Bilbao, Valencia, Villareal, and from this season hopefully Malaga.

Mate can you explain me the sugar daddy stuff. I really don't know what it's doing - overwriter; fore and background etc.
