Can't open it on my phone but I have downloaded the full UFFPR rule pack onto my computer somewhere in all its 800 page+ glory. Not sure whether its the final rulebook but its the one UEFA released to the press/anyone who asked back in March. I should probably read it... I'm already highly suspicious that Roman might have idea's around it already since he splashed 70 in January and planning more this summer. Maybe I give owners too much credit but UEFA have passed pretty leaky legislation in the past.

True, but you'd assume FIFA would be pulling out all the stops with this one. This is it: this is a lasting legacy that could potentially change the game for generations. One mistake, one tiny loophole and the current iteration of FIFA becomes a laughing stock forever. If they need to make anything work, it's this, and they'll try their utmost to make it watertight.

Also, you need to stop saying stuff like that before CJACKO explodes with joy. ;)

lol. We'll wait for 2015 to come round when its seriously kicked in to see how it has worked out I guess. Glad Platini's on it and Blatter's fingers are nowhere near it to be honest...

No, it means 'Unity'. And even if it was it would be 'The United Airways Stadium', would it not?

1. Kill-joy.

2. You suck:

'Etihad’ is a name that represents everything that its airline upholds. Meaning ‘united’ in Arabic, Etihad Airways is a carrier that reinforces everything that its name represents. The airline is seen as a symbol of the bonding among the seven emirates that constitute the United Arab Emirates.

Jacko, the key bits:

The naming rights could provide an early test, however, for Uefa's FFP panel, which requires any sponsorship deal with a party related to the club's owners to pass a "fair value" test.

City have been trying to increase their revenue to meet Uefa's new criteria but Etihad's close links with the club's owners will almost certainly mean Uefa seek to ascertain that the airline has not paid an inflated price.

The governing body have said they will use benchmarking exercises and specialists in the field to determine whether sponsorship and naming-rights deals are above their true market value. If it is deemed that they are, the excess must be deducted from break-even calculations

So clarification that neither Abramovich or his family can simply pump billions of pounds into Chelsea to make sure they break even..

yeah, but for what its worth, I actually think Chelsea will get through. Just.

How are they supposed to flog these players on 100k+ P/w? That's just ridiculous. We can't even flog players like Denilson, Almunia, Squillache, Eboue who are all around the 50K mark. Staggering.

Ade is from what I've been hearing is threatening legals with Man City too after they placed £14 million tag on him and was banished from the training squad.

Adebayor's years wages = 7.8mill (150k pw) + 10mill minimum transfer fee
Santa Cruz's year wages = 5.2mill (100k pw) + 5mill transfer fee
Bridge's year wages = 3.5mill (70k pw) + 3mill transfer fee
Jo's year wages = 3.5mill (70k pw) + 5mill transfer fee
Given's year wages = 2.6mill (50k pw) + 5mill transfer fee
Carlos Tevez year wages = 10.5mill (200k pw) +30mill min transfer fee
SWP's year wages = 3.5mill (70k pw) +5mill transfer fee
Bellamy's year wages = 3.5mill (70k pw) + 3mill transfer fee

Ok the figures may be a little under or over but added together the same figure will come out and it stands at 106 million and im sure more will leave too.

Ok as Mike said on the other thread who will take them players on them wages but it all depends on the player. If they are in the game to make a difference and play football then they will take a pay cut to play football if not then they will rot in Citys team until there contract is up. Their choice.

If they are paying him his wage, surely he can't do anything about it?
Also, whatever legals he can afford, I presume ManC will be able to afford 10x.

Honestly don't know how it works legally, but apparently he has a very good chance of being successful in court

Sorry, it means 'Union' not 'Unity'.

King of the Kippax: Phew... ETIHAD does NOT mean "United"

or maybe it does mean 'Unity' - Actually اتحاد (ittiHaad) means "unity". It can also refer to a union or association.
Now, متحد (muttaHid) means "united". IDK I'm confused. Maybe there's an Arabic speaker who can clear it up?
