how do you go about getting a facepack for him? can you manually add his picture in somehow?

I bought Martin Ödegaard in January and five days after his arrival, he was set to make his debut in Copa del Rey against Celta Vigo(away). And what a debut the 16-year old phenomenon produced:

With a start like that I can't wait to see what he can produce when at the best stage of his career!

I'm now in season three, managing Arsenal. Picked up Ødegaard just as a prospect for the future a while ago, this is him now, at age 17:

Aaaand, World Class label by my coaches:

Other saves I've had with him he's been mediocre at best. Dunno if it's the youth and training facilities at Arsenal or what or that I've been giving him sub time and cup time quite a bit but ****! Fine young man indeed.

His potential ability, how good he can get, isn't set. It changes with each game you create which is why you see the difference.

Training facilities will impact how he develops and I believe that Youth Facilities influence the quality of regens that a club produces each year (in conjunction with other factors).

Sort of. The training facilities, playing time, the coaching, and his personality will determine how he develops as a senior player. The Youth Facilities would have the same effect is he was a youth player. But the youth facility doesn't affect regens as they are brought in. From another forum:

Recruitment = Regen PA
Junior Coaching = Regen CA
Youth Facilities = Rate of youth player CA improvement

Very nice, easy to understand.

Any idea what Ødegaard's max PA is? I mean it's obviously World Class potentially but is it Messi world class or is it... Robben world class? (i.e. is it world's potentially best ever or at the moment one of the world's best).

Anyway I guess having a player in the youth team or the first team training wise doesn't matter a lot if both are (as with my current save with Arsenal) the best available?

Any idea if first team playing time matters more than facilities? (sorry these questions have probably been answered elsewhere tons of times but they're always relevant).

I'd quite like to know this as well actually, I'd guess it would be playing time?

First team will mean more if they are ready for it. Especially in terms of playing time. Playing at a higher level is always a positive for development, but the player has to be capable of performing.

Not sure if anyone outside of SI developers know the exact algorithm for player development, as in what has what percentage of effect. But playing time seems key. A high potential player seems to develop more by playing regularly at a league level, even without great facilities or coaching, compared to a same potential player sitting in the reserves, even with facilities and coaching.

As for his PA....
Odegaard is a -9, so his max is 180. Not quite Messi level but if he gets close to it, he's a genuinely world class superstar player. Not quite "best ever" level, but not far off.
