Hey, so as most of you will know I had problems with my West Ham save, that everytime I got to February it overheated, and all my other saves were fine, so I've had to stop it
But, I've decided to start a new story to make up for the West Ham fail, and I've chose.. Fulham
So, here we go, enjoy..
Hodgson leaves & King hired:
Fulham icon Roy Hodgson earlier resigned as Fulham manager via mutual consent reportedly over transfer funds, and moments later Portsmouth life long fan and unknown manager Max King was named as the new manager at Craving Cottage. Max King will have high expectations to live up to after Roy Hodgson successfully kept Fulham up on the last game of the season in 2007-2008, and then managed to get Fulham into Europe via a 7th place finish in the 2008-2009 season, with players such as Schwarzer, Dempsey, Hangeland, Murphy and Johnson all making their mark at the club. Now that the Hodgson era is over after about a year and a half in charge, Fulham fans may see this as a step in the wrong direction, and with a rookie manager in charge of a side that have highly overachieved in the past season, things don't look to be getting any better for Fulham. King was quoted in his press conference saying - "I'm amazed I was chosen for this, I'd be the first person to admit I'm not experienced enough at times for this sort of job, but I was never going to turn it down. I can assure all Fulham fans me, the players, the backroom staff and the board will all give 100% towards getting Fulham into Europe again next season, or at least get a top 8 finish. The budget is a decent one, around £3m, but there are a few players that can be moved on for funds for newer players, so it's a good place to be financially. I'm delighted with the squad, and all areas have good quality in them, but, there's always room for improvement".
King on the look for big name striker:
New Fulham boss Max King has told of his desire to bring in a new big name striker to the club, after saying upfront was a "weak area" for the club. Fulham only have 5 natural strikers in Zamora, Nevland, Johnson, Okaka & Elm, and it's reported that Elm is deemed surplus to requirements by King, and will be moved on in January. Stefano Okaka meanwhile has told of his desire to impress new boss Max King after the man that brought him to the club, Roy Hodgson, left the club. Okaka was quoted saying - "I know I can do what is needed here. I believe I am good player and although I never play in this division before, it is a great opportunity for myself to show my ability in this league. I think, err, we have a good side you know, err, the coaches are good and we are all happy, so this is a good thing for us and me especially as I get to settle in more".
Updates, transfers in & out, all coming soon.. (H)
