Thanks For tectic Mikey

I'm playing with this tactic at my second season in Benfica. In my national championship and cups I have 1 draw and lots of vitorys (no loses) at Champions League I'm not good... but my group is with Chelsea (CL winner at 2010/2011), Juventus and Austria Viena

I'm in December.

Finished foruth in first season could I win serie A with this team???

Below lavezzi on players is Vaclav Kadlec payed 1m for kadlec now worth 7.5m

EDIT: Anyone think i can win the league with the squad in my screenie

Hi Mike,

This tactic looks great and from the feedback it seems to be a winning tactic. I am going to play with Arsenal aswell but will be using a 4231 formation. My midfielders and wingers will be set up exactly the same as in your tactic. The only difference will be that instead of two forwards I will have Fabregas playing off the main striker playing as a Advance Playmaker with Chamak/Van Persie playing as a Deep Lying Forward

I just wanted to ask if you think that the changes that I have made to the forward line will affect how the tactic plays. Also I am considering using Very Fluid and Control settings for my tactics because I was reading a post by on the Dugout forum that the best way to play possession football was to have Very Fluid and Control setting along with more disciplined as creative freedom and more roaming because this will allow the team to have better possession.

From your screen shots you are using Fluid and Attacking and I was wondering if these settings will affect the possession football.

Thanks in advance

Mike,

Good tactic, used it in my Everton game, had too tweak it a bit for the moments where I'm ahead. If you don't have a class defence you can concede allot of goals.

Finished my season in 3rd spot.

Well done!

Thanks for the comment. Making the changes in the formation should change results too much although you have one player sitting deep which means you've only got goals coming from the striker and possibly wingers. In my formation, both the attackers score consistently so that might change, but if you set it up right and tweak advanced settings I'm sure it won't matter too much.

As for the strategy, controlling and going very fluid will definitely help holding the ball for the majority of the game, although I'm not so sure that it'll create the chances (unless you give touchline shouts to shoot often). Go ahead and try it by all means, let me know if it works for you :)

Thanks for downloading and using, coming third with Everton is a good result. I agree with the defenders bit, for two seasons I had Vermaelen and/or Koscielny in either Team of the Year or Defender of the Year shortlist, but in my third season I'm conceding more because my attacking play is so powerful and have changed the wing backs to attack instead of support.

Hi Mike,

Do you think that I should change my wing backs to support instead of attack for my Arsenal Team. I just read your last post regarding the wingbacks and was considering what to do. Also what would be the best combination for my central midfielders should I have on support and the other on defend (ball winning midfielder)

Sorry to ask so much questions

Thanks

It's fine, glad to help :) keep them on support I would, you'll probably concede less, though Sagna and Clichy both play better on attack mode. For the midfielders, it depends who you're using - assuming you're playing Song, Ball Winning Midfielder, defend or support. Diaby/Denilson/Ramsey, Box to Box support.

Thanks for the feedback Mike. I was just wondering what you think regarding the balance between support and attack roles. I am going to have my AMC on support, Deep Lying Forward on support, one of wingers on support (as per your set up) and my box to box midfielder/deep lying playmaker on support.

With my fullbacks on support this will mean that I have 6 players on support 3 on defend and 1 attacking. Would this make my tactic less fluid going foward in terms of scoring goals.

It would be really good to know what you think i should do Mike regarding the roles for AMC and Striker should i go support or attack just to have a good balance. Also what would be the best role for Jack Wilshire

Thanks again for the help

Hmm, it seems you've got too many on support and too few on attack. Definitely have the striker on attack, either wing on attack (think mine's RW), one of the midfielders on defend, one on support. Its up to you if you want to give the wing backs attacking duty or not, it'll be a **** of a lot more advanced in attack but may be a bit short for width whilst defending.

As for Jack Wilshere, he's a toughie - I find he plays better on the left wing as an Inside Forward, attack, but in midfield he's either a deep lying playmaker (support) or an advanced playmaker (attack).

Thanks Mike will have a look at changing things around. Should I have one of the wings and attack and the other on support. I was thinking of having Walcott on the RW as support and Nasri/Arshavin as inside forward attack on the left wing.

Thanks

Sounds good, I used Nasri on the left (awesome player, Winger, support, wide play is cuts inside) and van Persie on the left as an inside forward, attack, and Chamakh up front.

Hi Mike

Just another quick question Walcott's is right footed player so if I am put on the right to cut inside he would be cutting in on is weaker left foot which would make him less effect. Should I change him to the left wing as a winger/support so when he cuts inside he is on is right, or can i keep on the right with winger support cut inside

Do you mean Van Persie as an inside forward on the right cut inside.

Walcott isn't very good on the wings with me, you're best off leaving him out of your starting 11 and using him as an impact sub as a poacher :S if anything though, he's just as good on either wing.

Van Persie on the right as an Inside Forward, you don't need to change his wide play :)

Is the target man supposed to be supplied to head?

Yes, but you can change that depending on your Target Man's abilities - mine is currently Edin Dzeko, and he's a big threat in the air, as is Marouane Chamakh. If it's someone like Wayne Rooney, he'd be best to give it to feet, Theo Walcott to run onto the ball etc. :)

thanks for the help mike:) which is the better tactic btw v1 or v2?
Also im playing as united and i have berbatov, rooney, javi hernandez, neymar and van nistelrooy as my options upfront.
What do you suggest my strike partnership should be, as in what player for what role?
i have modric as my left winger, do you think i shud try him as my playmaker? does it work well without a playmaker?

Lastly what do you use for match preparation? i didnt quite understand your opening post.

I find tactic v2 to be better as it's more defensive than the first.

I suggest Rooney on the left striker position as he's a fantastic Trequartista, and I'm not really sure who else to use (never used Neymar) but I'd go for Berbatov for the Target Man role. Keep every other position, role and duty the same. You can try Modric as a playmaker, it shouldn't matter too much.

As for match preparation, you don't need to do anything really :)

Thanks alot mate your really helping me:)
won the prem last season and i was 18 points clear and won the champions league beating arsenal 9-1 on aggregate and lyon 5-1 on aggregate along the way.

One more thing mike....i bought benzema jus now, and i want to play them both upfront. should i play benzema as target man and change supply to feet, or rooney as target man and change supply to feet?

and when you say v2 is more defensive, does it take away from the goalscoring? i was banging in 4 goals a game with v1??
