4th is a good place to finish in first season, I managed to do that too. 3rd second season and currently top in the third season, have a look if you want, got some amazing free signings too!

Well, not all amazing, but got Beckham, Vela, Begovic, Obinna, and just signed Guardado on a free.

Second Season Syndrome

So, i'm 16 games into the second season and it seems like we're suffering from a bit of second season syndrome, i don't understand where the problem lies, its the same tactic that worked amazingly well last season with better players and its doing worse?

View attachment 22757

Evident from the fixtures above you can see i've drawn far too many games, normally when winning ive thrown it away, usually conceding goals from corners and set pieces :S which i cannot solve!

View attachment 22758

Probably the best result out of the bunch and its not even that great of a result, seriously need to buck our ideas in January.

View attachment 22756

So, i'm languishing in 9th in the table with more questions than answers, signings just havent done it for me, Beckham has been woeful.
View attachment 22760

De La Red has been average and Caicedo on loan has been about as clinical as Tony Hibbert! I'm hoping i can start to turn it around in the new year fingers crossed :D

So the chairmen is still looking to step aside, 4 months down the line and no change over i wish it would hurry up to be honest, i need funds to spend in January desperately!

Will post again after the january transfer window...

So there you are, the second season is over and it came to a some what disappointing end, ended up 6th in the league took a backwards step on the 4th place finish last season :( Only positive was the home win against Barcelona probably :S:S (if anyone wants screen shots of things just ask)

Very much looking forward to the pre-season board take-over has been complete and transfer funds have been promised, will post after summer dealings and pre-season friendlies!

KEEP THE FAITH

Keep it up. You will get there. I'm having the same second season problems. Stade de Reims in Ligue 2 and just keep drawing games. And I have brought in players like Obertan, Rodwell, Rivas,Verratti but no results yet.

Now boys and girls, this is where it starts to get interesting, new Chairman has came in and given me £25million to spend on players, i've been very active in the transfer window signing a cluster of stars!

  • Iker Muniain - £20mill Wonderkid Striker
  • Igor Akinfeev - £35mill (no introduction needed)
  • Roberto Soldado - £28mill (no introduction needed)
  • Alan Dzagoev - £25mill (no introduction needed)
  • Felipe - £25mill - Italian CB from Udinese

Before anyone asks ... no i havent cheated, i sold nearly half of my team and all players were signed over 48 monthly installments :D

View attachment 22912

These 2 slides show my complete transfer goings in and out, i realise ive probably paid over the odds for half of those players but it was needed!

View attachment 22913

Pre-season went relatively well apart from the defeat to Olympique Lyonnais, i have picked out to 2 best results from pre-season below.

View attachment 22914

A good solid win against a strong proven european team, managed to not concede which was our main problem last season

View attachment 22915

Another good solid 1-0 victory

So i'd say things are looking VERY optimistic for next season :D will post again after the first 5/6 league games, any question, comments or screen shot requests are appreciated :)

Any comments on transfers and general advice would be very much appreciated :D

Over £200M on transfers in? You should be winning everything next season. Good luck.

What a lucky bunny you are, having a good takeover. Your first season was great and hopefully you will do even better in the third.

The over 48 month idea seems good at the time but most likely next season when you get your next budget you wont be to impressed. ;)

Totally agree. I like the idea of the 48 months, but too many and too much will definitely hit back hard in future. That's if you're still doing the story in 4 years <)

Hmm yeahh i guess, and i most probably will be doing the story 4 more seasons in, not too bothered if my next few budgets are measly, after those signings i shouldnt need many players for a few seasons! By the way Iker Muniain = World Class! Sorry about the lack of recent activity been away, next update will be very soon!

Cool, looking forward to the next update.

I advise you to check out Muniain and sign him if you can mate honestly, next update is imminent :)

Really? **** just come out of the January 2012 window ^^) I'll see what my scouts say. What position is he naturally?

Striker, probably best played as a poacher :) 200m on transfers indeed lets hope its all worth it!!

So this is what £200million has bought me so far, some mixed results so far but one positive is no defeats :D, disappointed not to get a winner against liverpool in the Europa League :S gonna go through the league games individually now....

Average start to the season, great to see my new strike force both getting on the scoresheet, negative side i conceded 2 goals in the second half and threw away a lead which seems to be standard Espanyol no matter who your players are!

View attachment 23237

Slightly better result than the first game, picked up the 3pts but the winning margin wasnt great enough for my liking.

View attachment 23238

First home game of the season, good win against average opposition, Munain bagged his 2nd of the season and is already looking like money well spent, scored 3 goals and saw out the game comfortably :D

View attachment 23239

Back to standard Espanyol, take the lead and dont build on it, in control of the game and then lose concentration and throw it away at the death :(

View attachment 23240

However, as we all know 'Rome wasn't built in a day' and Man City is a prime example where money doesnt buy instant success! The new players will take half a season to gel together and build a good understanding, once that happens i believe the title isn't out of the question this season :D

KEEP THE FAITH!
