Update: been using the Unbeatable tactic and it's too injury prone too (6 players injured in the last match, all fit!). The tactics are excellent but it becomes unpracticable for me. I gave up on testing.

Interesting Question.

The 10.3 tactics are all taken from my Ultimo Domination tactic which is for patch 10.2, I'm not sure if that's been posted on here or not, and Initially the tactic was made in the Wizard but i changed it to the Classic because i thought it gave me more options to play with.

So that's how the classic was born, I still released the wizard that i had been working on but only as a BETA as i didn't think it was good enough yet.

The thing with the classic when you play is that when you look at the team almost the entire team is attack the only 4 players on the pitch that aren't are the Anchor man, Defenders and the Keeper.

With everybody being attacking the Fullbacks Especially they are gonna be going up and down the wing Constantly, Supporting the attack and i wanted this because it widens the oppositions back line.

If you have say 3 Strikers and 2 Midfielders roaming around the box and all the other players back then that will be hard for your players to find space but throw 2 fullbacks in the mix and that will widen the play because the opposition will have to attempt to mark them aswell.

That's the theory anyway it's don't always work like that but that's what i want my team to do.

The main reason i worked on and released the wizard 2 is because some players where asking if there was anyway i could make the defence tighter, Simple question you would think.

When i was looking at the Wizard tactic to make it tighter i came to realise that the main problem was the fullbacks in my team and if i was going to make the defence tighter then i had to really look at stopping these guys from going forward often.

When i looked at this though i found it very difficult to stop the fullbacks going forward with the settings so i had to change some of the team settings like the Philosophy from Very Fluid to Rigid and the starting Strategy from overload to Control.

I realise now that it was the Philosophy that made my players stay in position and keep the shape of the team better because the Philosophy means that if it's on very fluid the players will get forward alot more and basically break there balls to get in the box and create and get into goal scoring positions. With it being on rigid on the other had the team will stay in position better and keep the shape of the team becoming hard to break down. The downside to this is that you lose some of the attacking as you have noticed in your initial testing.

i won't gonna make a final tactic because i thought the classic was good enough yet i still had people saying "The classic tactic is awesome and had won me countless trophies and championships if only the defence was tighter" So i thought about it for a while and came to the conclusion that if i could make a tactic for a lower league team that is awesome in defence and attack at lower level then it's gotta work at a higher team aswell right!!

That's how the Unbeaten tactic was born. Which is the classics versions attack almost, and a new defence set up.

When playing games with Blyth i noticed that if i have the defence settings low then this just invites pressure onto me so if i can stop them playing high up the pitch then this will help me contain the Opponent and also win the ball back in good positions.

The Nike Defence theory helped me achieve that. what happens in the Nike defence is that the fullbacks go forward and there is a cover stopper system with the 2 center backs who are covered by a defensive midfielder and also quite a high defence line.

I completely believe that this is the best defence system there is after testing it and figuring it out with my teams i have a good solid base in my tactic now that will work not only for lower league teams but top quality ones aswell.

so that's the tactics now I'll give you some advice....

don't chop and change tactics stick with one for at least 12/14 games that way you can have a good look at your team. If you keep changing tactics how is your team going to adapt to the tactics if you change them every 3/4 games.

When i tested with Arsenal i holidayed to my first prem game and when i holidayed i forgot to tell my Assistant to play with the tactic i wanted, so for the first few games of the season my Arsenal team where pretty pants and i was actually thinking that it may not work for Arsenal but then like Bam!, i was dominating teams 3/4- 0 and back on top.

Hope this info helps if you have any more questions let me know.

FA Cup 6th round verses Premier League Liverpool using the new wizard :O

Top of the EPL in season 3 with West Ham, Won 15 Drew 4 Lost 1(my first league defeat in 40 odd games.

Not a World Class side to say the least, again, anyone struggling using this tactic should maybe take up knitting or something.

Seriously, I think you've found pretty much the perfect balance between attacking and defending. The defense doesn't allow much from the opposition at all. When they have the ball they move well around to make sure they wont get any space to play the ball, so most attacks ends up with a longshot that will most likely go wide or to a corner. I don't think that I've conceeded a goal on a corner yet so that's not very dangerous:P They sometimes get a through ball and a shot on the goalkeeper, but that's very rare. Most goals I have conceeded in a game is 2 I think.

The attack is working even better than the defense. If I struggle to get a through ball to one of my 3 strikers, there's always a room for one of the midfielders to fire a long shot, and I score at least one longshot every two games. My two CB's score pretty much on corners, not enough to make any "statistics" out of it, but maybe like 1 of 4 games, really depends on the opposition.

My point is that when I'm attacking I'm getting a finish at goal 90% of the attacks even if it's from a long shot or a throughball, soloride or just pure solid attack. When I, on a rare occasion, lose the ball and they get a counterattack, there's always two defenders that can stop that. And they always do.

Attacking is the best defense, but attack with your defense stratergy is epic. I can't believe what will happen if you actually improve this existing tactic, if it's possible.

Thanks United nice comments there.

I think it can be improved on but the difference it would make will be minimal so theres not much point working hard when it's already very good.

The tactic me and JP have worked on though is something else and as you can see from the screens that we have provided it could well be the best yet!

Here is another result from Mine and JP's version of my unbeaten tactic.

Nice possession stats.

Possession and pass completion stats have been really high for me too with the wizard and i dont really have gifted players where passing is concerned. People who like beautiful possession footy will love it. My team have scored some amazing passing move goals.

I look forward to it JP. I love possession football on FM. I'm trying to develop a Barcelona tactic and its fairly good so far. Averaging about 54% possession and 83% pass completion so I'll certainly try the new version of this tactic when its released

Sorry. Mr Hough is going to release them when he's tested them. They are his tactics,i only made a small contribution.
JP you made a massive contribution and as far as I'm Concerned this version is ours not just mine.

mrhough, ill test this with Hyde United ( blue square north ) who are my local team who I live 5 minutes away from.
Ive had a season ticket with them for the last 2 seasons and they are predicted 21st.
I will post after 10 games, and then 20 etc.
Thanks for this amazing tactic.

Here is my position with my Hyde United save.

I have made 1 signing all season and that was a free CM. With a normal hyde united team who were predicted 21st (2nd bottom) I was also predicted to lose 8 out of 10 of my first games - thank you Mr Hough for this tactic!!
