Mr Langvatn FM16 Tactic Center

I started using the 4-2-3-1 mid-way through my first season, and it looks like it might save my job (board ran out of patience).

I'm nicknaming my in-game Assistant Manager to Mr Langvatn in your honour.

Just finished testing Riki89's tweak, we have a new best home tactic! :D
Mr. L will post screenshots soon.

Mr. L, I am really enjoying your work again this year and love your testing methodology. However, I think there are some better things you can do in regards to measuring the effectiveness of corner routines. Instead of taking the total number of goals scored over the course of the season, you should really be looking at the total number of corners for each tactic then determining the ratio that was converted to goals.

For example:
Tactic x generates 400 corners over the season, scoring 15 goals.
Tactic y generates 300 corners over the season, scoring 13 goals.

Tactic x has a success ratio of 400/15 or a goal every 26.7 attempts.
Tactic y has a success ratio of 300/13 or a goal every 23.1 attempts.

So while tactic y scored less goals over the course of the season, it was actually more effective over the course of the season. Total goals mean very little if it takes you more corners to get there.

Mucking about with these tactics before starting a permanent save. Got to say they do very well. One thing they do show is how you can definitely achieve possession tactics in FM16. Dominating possession and passes with them in EPL.

First congratz:)

Have ou done any tweeks at all?

0, I tried having the MC, ST/AMC and AML/AMR swap positions as they all roam and can all play the others role, but it didnt really make a difference. the tactic is fantastic (for my team) just default.

Talk about a close call!
Comfortably cruising through the league, sitting top for majority of the season. (predicted 4th) hit a rough patch late on. Ended up winning the league due to goal difference as a result of a 90th minute own goal - a right nail-biter. Used 4-2-3-1 for first half of season, then swapped between the 4-4-1-1 and the 4-2-3-1 for the second half (usd 4-4-1-1 at home)

Hi, I'm a fan. Currently doing 4231 with all Ajax teams. I'm vulnerable at the counter. How do you think about 'mark tighter' with the central defenders?

If Central Defenders have "mark tighter", they tend to be dragged out of position easily, leaving an empty space for the opposition to go through. But, I haven't tried this year, so I guess you can try :P

Agreed, this would be more accurate :) I will consider this when making corner routines, but not when testing, as that would be too time comsuming.
