Mr Langvatn FM16 Tactic Center

What's the best Overload tactic for getting late goals (A plan B)?
I had previously had a 4-2-4 that I used late on if I was pushing for a goal or trying to make a comeback but it isn't working anymore and I need a back-up plan.
My save is from the original database if that makes a difference.

Mr L how would you compare your Sicilian Defence to the new leader Puskas?

They are around the same in performance. Sicilian Defense has better GD, Puskas has more points. Hard to tell which is better when there are such small differences. Equipping both tactics might be good to prevent AI to (learn and) counter them :)
Needs more players to make that work though, as there are some different positions :) Personally, I like to just stick to one tactic.

Here is the result of first season with Sandefjord. We were big favourites tho but nice streak of wins.. I have a director of football and pretty limited funds, so the buys he/we did wasnt big names. More of a squad fill... I have the last say in any transfer tho.. So he dont buy unecessary players... Tippeligaen here we come =)

It would be better to change to another tactic in such a situation, rather than "tweaking" the current tactic, as that will in most cases not work at all. If you change to a different tactic, that may cause problems for the AI, since that forces an AI change in the match.

Mr L., pointswise I'm doing good with Ajax with v5, but I need a lot of chances to make my goals. Almost every game I miss more big opportunities than I score. I don't score that often (seldom 3-0 or more). The other way around, my opponents always get a couple of big opportunities. Any tip how to fight this?

I think the only way is to wait for / focus on achieving a better team cohesion level (found in assistant manager reports). That said, there will always be quite a lot of randomness in a personal save. So, accepting a defeat now and then is necessary for any tactic and any team. Also, it might be good to have another tactic equipped to counter the AI's learning and countering the tactic easily. By changing tactics, perhaps also mid-game, can be great. Personally, I just accept a defeat now and then and move on with the same tactic.

I've noticed that the players' motivation really depend on what kind of competition it is. For example, in my Rosenborg save, my team does fantastic in CL, but my team can lose to **** opponents in the Norwegian Premier Division. I still win the league by alot of points though, so I just accept it and focus CL :)

Same thing I've seen when I have already won the league, with matches remaining. The players' motivation to win is much lower, and they play very poorly compared to when fighting to achieve something (like in CL).

About missing big opportunities, I would have a look at finishing and composure on your players. There are also some hidden attributes in the game that might influence this.

Mr L., what do you do during a match? In terms of changing tactics, shoutings, etc.

I know this the 4-2-4 is a completely different tactic from the 4-3-3 I use for most of the game, my point is when the 4-3-3 ain't working in some games I changed to the 4-2-4 nearer the end but that no longer works and I was just wondering if there were any successful overload tactics available?

Mr L, after a while, your tactic started to work. Winning, Eredivisie, Jupiler League, KNVB Beker, beker -19 and competition -19 with Ajax. Unfortunately it was late for Europe: out in first knock out round against Wolfsburg. All with Ajax. Thx!!

Doesn't look like overload is as effective as it's been earlier...
