Mr Langvatn's Tactic Thread (Updated for 13.3.3)

Tried the 2-5-3 Angel Tweak. i realize when defending set-pieces, my 3 forward stay up, which is a bit dangerous. Despite beating sevilla 3-2, 2 of the goals are from set pieces, and the goals i conceded are mistakes. Shall test this out for the next few match and see how things goes.

hmm.. i lost only 3 goals from set pieces in english premier league - 18 matches played by Newcastle:).

Ok. I'll have a look at the defending set pieces too before release then :)

EDIT: Try this.

Hey.
I started a new save as Barcelona and was wondering which tactic and which version to use so i'm doing my own mini test sorta thing. Tested 2-6-2 tactic with 3 cma against Real Sociadad 5 times (reloaded) same players, same pre match team talk etc.. I took away the best result and the worst and did an average of the 3 remaining results. I'll try with the same tactic but with the 2 b2b mids then 2-5-3 etc..

First results were 3-0 average. 16 - 4 shots. 9 - 0.3 on target. 2.3 - 0.3 ccc's + 63% possesion.

Second results. 2-6-2 b2b mids. 2 - 0.6 average. 20 - 1.3 shots 8 - 0.6 on target, 2.3 - 0.3 ccc's 65% possesion.

2-5-3 v2 results. 3.6 - 1 average. 17.3 - 2.3 shots. 9 - 1.6 on target. 3.6 - 1.3 ccc's 58% possesion.

I don't know if this is the most scientific way but hey ho.

abbes, can you post a ss of your tactic and if possible, training and shouts as well? thanks.

i don't use any shouts.

tactic is 3-5-2 v2 and it's awesome :).

last season i played with v1 and it was my first season with Newcastle - i won league and FA Cup, and unfortunetly lost in European League quaterfinal (first i won home 5-1, then lost away 1-4, but it was because we played in 9...) generally awesome season.

now am using v2 of 2-5-3 and i lost just three matches, two were on the begginig of season with not completly fluid, so **** happend ;). and i draw 2 maybe 3, but i was better, just had bad luck.

balanced high 30% and as u can see i'm adjusting offense or defense training to power of my opponent - and it works very well.

individual training (average):
GK - if my GK is good in one on one - GK sweeper. if not - GK.
DC's - central defender
WB - if my player is good in decisions - full back. if not - wing back.
DM's - if my player is good in creativity and teamwork - box to box. if not - central midfield.
ST's - all of them complete striker.

by the way sorry for my english, am from Poland. and am better in speaking than writing ;).

Thanks for the info. And no prob. with the english, it's more fluid thn the tactics haha. Just beat a low-rated team 5-0 using this tactics but am afraid if i'm up against the bigger opponents in the CL. For training, do i set them to def. pos when i'm up against the big boys and att. movement when i'm favourites to win the match?

thanks m8 ;)). yeah, def against big boys and off when you're fav ;). i don't know how much it helps but until now it's working for me, so am not going to change that :).

It's better to test it over a season or half a season at least. Cause the stats don't say much really. Some tacs are possession based, some are the opposite, some tactics create ccc's, while others score more on crosses. etc etc. But I appreciate help with testing, and would be nice if some more people would follow that track :)

I know and diffrent tactics use diffrent players etc.. Just messing about is all.

Just uploaded V2 of the 2-5-3 Angels to the front page.
For me the central striker doesent score enough and gets bad ratings, then again i always put a target man type there so naturally he performs better as a complete forward rather then a advanced forward like its displayed in your updated tactic.

This is a champions league semi final match played with the original 253 TC version. As you can see my central striker leandro was much more involved, he also had a goal disallowed and should have scored from his other attempts. The real difference here is that he also sets up goals for everyone else making him much more lethal as complete forward.

My central striker. Maybe it needs to be this type of player.

You can't base stuff on one game though. Need to be tested for at least 20 games, and then see the difference.

What tactic would you reccomend for chelsea? Wouldn't the 2-5-3 be a waste of hazard/mata etc? or did i miss a post explaining the types of player for each position
