Dear callamity, I don't understand at match training: it is <Tactics only> or <Def. set pieces> ?

Also, at General training: Team Conhesion + High or Balanced + Low ?

Or it reffers at Pre-Season training ( tactics only + team conhesion high ) and Season training ( def. set pieces + balanced low ) ?

Yes, this is what he means.

I am having quite a big problem with my strikers not scoring, because when i loan them or sell them they seem to score quite a lot of goals... I?ll post some screen shots of them... See if anyone detects a problem... because other people are getting a lot of goals from the strikers from the screenshots I have seen...

I have tried a lot of tactics this past few weeks, and it's obvious your tactic is the best this season Calamity !
I put the ML as a AML and it's doing wonder with all teams i have coached.

Congrats

This tactic still going strong. Was kaiserslautern and won the German second division. Then vcme second in the bundesliga my first season, 3rd the season after that, and then did the double the season after. I resigned from kaiserslautern after that and joined relegation tipped sampdoria who have sold all of their good players. I'm currently sitting 4th in the league.

I'm not sure how people have had problems with their strikers, as I have played a host of different strikers up top,all of which have scored at least 20 goals a season.

I have played Werner, vydra, idrissou, vietto, and McKay up front.

What is the rest of your team? What are your midfield's PPM's? What is your F9's PPM's? I have played Vietto with this tactic and he has scored hatfuls for me.

Also, your strikers need a run of games. You can't just play them there for 2 games, have them not score and drop them. In my Kaiserslautern team I had Vydra up front who didn't score for the first 8 games. After that he finished the season with 24 goals and 13 assists.

My adviec would be to play Vietto up front and KEEP playing him there. He will score goals you just have to be patient. Strikers on this game regularly go through periods of not scoring, the key is to keep playing them and they will hit form again. Play Vietto up front for 15 games in a row and see where he is at after that. He will prabably struggle for the first 6-10 games but will score a lot after that.

This is excellent advice mate.

Also it is important to understand the role the false9 plays, his priority is dropping deep and linking the midfield, he will rarely be on the end of your attacks. This is by design. Yes he will score 20 goals a season and I've had over 30 goals from my false 9 in very good teams, but he will more so than not be the linking playing in your team, getting balls out wide, laying them off to on coming midfielders. This should also lead to your wingers and cm's bagging double figures every season if they are good enough.

Callamity,

You still recommend to use def positionning as match preparation ?

May i ask u one question callamity?
Why both fullback are set to different duties (support and attacking)?

This provides different passing and attacking options. makes it harder for teams to defend against

I have quite a large squad (30 players) since it?s been very difficult to sell some players i don?t want, i try to play everybody to keep them happy and the morale good... So here?s the squad...

F9?s PPM?s:
Vietto: Beat offside trap / Likes to enter Box / places shots / tries first timers - got him training dribble goalkeeper
Rodrigo: Runs with ball down left / tries killer balls often / beat offside trap /shoots with power / dribble goalkeeper / come out playing
Nelson Oliveira: Lobs goalkeeper / plays down right / looks to play one-two?s

Midfield (MC) PPM?s, the playeres i use more:
Matic: Pauses the game
Enzo Perez: Likes to dribble the keeper / likes slidding takles
Andr? Gomes: Comes back to get ball / sets the rhythm of the game / long passes / Changes ball to opposite flank
Lucas Romero: tight marking / comes back to get the ball / sets the rhythm of the game
Bernanrdo Silva: comes back to get ball

LM/RM:
Markovic: Runs ball down right / place shots / doesn?t use weak foot / cuts inside
Fisher: runs with ball / cuts inside / tries to dribble GK
Iancu: -
Djuricic: Places Shots / one twos / Changes ball to opposite flank
Gaitan: Runs with ball / shoots with special effect / cuts inside
Ivan Cavaleiro: Places shots / runs down left / currently training cuts inside

I have not focused too much on these PPM because in the first two seasons I played three different tactics and kept switching them randomly...

Ahh Vietto?s form:View attachment 425711

Last game six shoot?s not even one hit the goal... :'(

I started using this tactic with Dortmund, just played pre-season and Super cup with Bayern. I unfortunately lost it, but there's no way I deserved losing that match, considering amount of chances I had :

I will test it through the full season and will post the results. :)

I saw something i'd not seen before. Training workload on player information tab A couple of my players have "Feels the team is not working on enough match preperation".

Also...

I noticed on this link http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/atta...ic-fm14-newcastle-united_-training-team-2.png you have the team training defensive set pieces, which i have been doing since i started following this thread about a week ago. BUT check out post 1011 and 1013!

Now i've only managed to get round to reading up to page 6-7 so far as been so busy with work etc but i'm assuming i should be using defensive positioning? Although in all honesty the defensive set pieces seems to be doing fine as i've only conceded 5 of my 16 goals from corners and IDFK's in 31 games
