One plays for a superior side... So will always have better stats, Just sticking that out there....

I can see this statement leading to a mass arguement if a idiot shows up

i just think from January to September Malouda was un-stoppable. But Nasri has only come into form this season. Not to mention Malouda got handed the France captiancy this season.

the only thing Malouda beats Nasri on is Trophys ;)

Thye both play different positions so its unfair to compare them, its like comparing Messi and Lampard, tbh I think Malouda is a better winger than Nasri a better ACM

tbh, Nasri has hardly perfomed the whole year, he has only just started performing in the last 8-9 games so it was between him and Benzema the only 2 players not part of the French WC Squad

Benzema was never going to win it...

And now Nasri is unstoppable... Also, Nasri has:

a) IMO, scored better goals.
b) Been freely scoring for an out of form Arsenal side, whereas Malouda chipped in with goals in a free scoring Chelsea side.

He's obviously a good player, and of course you're going to back him, and i'm going to back Nasri, but I honestly think SN deserves it more.

He's also younger...

I think Malouda would have won had he had a half decent world cup. He deserves it on the whole year's performances, but Nasri has improved a lot. I would much rather have Nasri though, quality player

I prefer Nasri over Malouda but there's plenty of other French players who would've been contesting if it wasn't for the World Cup.

Exactly my point, I think he was playing on a dodgy pitch ;)

*JOKE*

Oh for.. I know this is off topic and just a joke, but Wenger never once blamed Arsenal losing on a poor pitch - he blamed the "techincal quality" of the game on a slippery and bouncy pitch.

To stay on topic, how many goals has Malouda scored this season? And Nasri?

Also, how can Malouda be unstoppable from January - September when two months or whatever of that was the WC and summer break, and he's not been in form this season so far from what I've seen. So.. He was in form from January - May? So that's 5 months, Nasri just has 2 more months to go!

Im not saying Nasri wasen't good enough to deserve it im just putting it out there that Malouda scored more, assisted more and won more than Nasri in the calender year.

It is French Footballer of the year, not French Footballer of the week, if Malouda had a half-decent WC, he would have won it, plus I think Nari has been on form for what like 6 weeks imo and he never even made it to the French WC Squad

What difference does team trophies make? That's like saying Evra won the charity shield so he should have won it ahead of Nasri oO)

if its based on a club level then yer i would fully give it to Malouda. If the award is based on the whole year and at club level then i think Malouda has been a better performer than Narsi. There is no dout who is playing the better football at the moment but im looking at it over the whole year in general.

So, you would say Nasri doesn't deserve it, because you'd give it to Malouda!

I'm aware of that thanks... The WC is part of the year though, so you can't just exclude a poor WC. Malouda was good for the first half of the year, excellent in fact, and now Nasri has been superb this season.

I was just pointing out that Nasri was decent last year (including scoring arguably the goal of the year), and is brilliant now whereas Malouda was very good before, and now isn't so good. Consistency and improvement trumps consistency and fall from grace

Because Malouda was a massive part of the Chelsea team that won the double thats why.

The Award has already been given so theres no need to argue. Nasri Won it. Malouda didn't. CJACKO get over it.

As you mentioned, Chelsea are in a run of bad form, so he has not managed to find fluency and consistency yet, i think that all makes an impact plus Nasri did not even make it to the WC, if u look at the whole year in general where Malouda helped Chelsea win the Double I think it should have gone to Malouda,

He's not trying to change who won the award, you can still debate who won it.

Myself, would also give it to Malouda.

A forum is a place to debate and people have different opinions otherwise we are nothing more than a news website,
