New Kids on the Block: an Irish Story

This was the big one. The FAI Cup. Winning this grants a Europa League place. And while I'm pretty sure we'd break all sorts of records (the bad ones) in Europe, the money we'd get could completely transform this club and help us take the steps we need to grow.

If we could get a non-league side, I'd be delighted but either a First division team, or at home to a premier division team is an ideal outcome.

Disappointed not to get a home draw but Longford at least gives us a chance. Though our record so far against them is not great: having lost 0-3 at home in late March.

May was a month we just want to move on from. After loosing a 2 goal lead against Mervue, I was disappointed but felt that after scoring 2 in a match for the first time, maybe we had turned a corner and maybe push on.

Nope, that was not what ended up happening as pretty much all of our hard work was undone.
I had targeted Cobh Ramblers as a game we could have won. They were 3pts ahead of us int he table and I feel a very similar side but we couldn't get a home win; or even a draw. This month we were pretty much used as whipping boys in all 3 of our following games.

Despite the results so far, which I'm sure you expected. This is a fantastic idea, looking forward to see how you develop the club and team. Keep up the good work. :)

It's been, . . . . . . . educational. It's tough to shed the "winning = success" mentality you develop playing FM but those 3 draws are fantastic results for us; I've been quite proud of how close some of those games were. Considering the stature of my club and the lack of quality in the squad, loosing by only 1 goal is quite a decent result.

The next 3 years are really to generate a bit of a club history, establish myself in the league and develop the facilities.

Looking good, a nice read and a great idea, good luck.

The Summer Transfer window is now open and I'm looking to bring in about 10-12 new faces to add to my options.
A few players may leave. Since this is an amateur club, I'll be operating a revolving door policy to my playing staff.

The singing of Eric Browne from Mervue United caused a few laughs in the dressing room since he arrived in Limerick and singed his contract; the day before we return to Mervue United to playing them in the League.

My main concern was the lack of quality full backs at the club, so I've addressed this by bringing in Mark Logan and Andy Farrell

At least you woluld break "records"...

That's pretty much all I've done so far :P
Currently 15 games without a win. My Team talk will be "Come on lads, Another poor performance will make it 16. I have a lack of faith in ye, common, we can't do this!!! Let's make history!"

hahahahahahaha :P I'm doing the same challenge. Starting with Greystones Utd.
