New players to push Wigan into top 4 (start of season 3)

Finished 8th first season and 5th second (went into last day away to chelsea needing a point to get 6th/7th but won and results went our way) - 1 point from man city in 4th who were 1-0 down at half time but won 3-1 :( If only Villa had held on lol.

Anyway this is my Squad currently (after loans expire etc): positions are where I play them most.
Italic = not ready for 1st team yet.

Players I intend to sell asap: Backup keeper (wants to go), G.Caldwell (wants to go), Leonardo, Boselli, Sammon, Petrucci


Positions I need: GK (prefer english with cheap wage) CB (prefer young and english), DM (anchor man - Nkoulou loan ended and was asking 60k a week wages so after cheaper) and maybe a proven striker.

im currently playing with wigan and progressing nicely
goalkeeper - volkan demirel can be got on a free in most games! i know he is not english but he has low wage demands (30k)
dc - i signed chris smalling from manchester united for 1.6 million in 2013-2014 he also has low wage demands 20k per week
defensive midfielder - i signed hargreaves on a free but i have recently replaced him with mehmet topal
centre midfield - yohan cabaye has been awesome for me signed 4 only 2 million from man city
st - i use christian benitez who now is wigan all time leading scorer and have recently sign macheda from manchester united as a long term replacement. i just missed out on signing benzema on a free as he picked middle table everton over me.

Thanks guys, think I need some decent signings this year.
Got into league cup final & finished 5th, have a small squad so might struggle with Europe & pushing for top 4/5 again.

Ill let ya know who I sign & my budget once I find out lol
 
yea i support wigan so i always play as them but i find with a little bit of work they can be transformed into top 6 team within 3 seasons. i finished runner up in europa league in 2014 and got offered the arsenal job after beating manchester united 7-0 in the fa cup final !

Nice, hoping to challenge for title in 4th season.
So need 4th or so this season :p
 
i missed out on champions league on the last game of the season last year and fulham of all teams finished 4th. this season i have played 21 in the league won 18 dawn 2 lost 1 and 10 points clear of second.
 
Made a few deals already,
Got in Baines for 11.75M and sold figueroa for 4.3M (silly need 3 players trained at club for Europe rule lol)
Got Joe Lewis, Gaston Fernandez & Jimmy Kebe on frees to add depth so I can loan out youngsters.

20M left on budget + decent chunk fo wage budget (like 125k)
for DC, DMC and ST.

+ need to sell a few players (only shifted G.Caldwell & Figueroa)
but would like to keep those proceeds for Jan :p
 
DC:Try Carriço because he is young no WP needed and low wages and very good PA
ST:Damiao should be good and cheap

for DM i can't think anyone
 
look at adam hlousek (aml) he turns into a beast and guillermo burdisso (cb) is a great player for wigan and can be bought for like 1-2 million in like 2011/2012. micah richards and pablo zabaleta can also be bought cheaply because they gets unhappy at manchester city . I would sell victor moses as he never develops. in your game has your stadium been expanded yet and have u had any takeover bids ?
 
yea thats the worse thing about wigan ! board will not upgrade either
i have bought 4 regens with 190+ pa

Cabaye seems like good choice, hes at man city atm though. So his wages may be sky high lol

just rejected 12.5m for varane from bayern, if i get a very nice offer I cant refuse who should I replace him with
