Gateshead took a shock early lead through winger JJ O Donnell with a cute finish from a tight angle early in the game , Newcastle new boy Ferreyra levelled just before half time with a bullet header to make it all level.
3 minutes after the restart Gateshead and former Newcastle Striker - Lewis Guy then made the scoreline 2-1 with a nice 1-2 with Carl Finnigan.
Newcastle struggled to breakdown the Gateshead defence and found Adam Bartlett pulling off a string of saves but on the 80th minute Newcastle's superior fitness showed when midfielder Mehdi Abeid burst through and slotted past the helpless Gateshead keeper.
It went from bad to worse in which looked like a resolute display when almost straight from the kick off a sloppy pass from CB Jones gifted speedy winger Obertan a 1 on 1 and the winger rounded bartlett to seal the win in a performance where Gateshead gave everything and showed a real promise of how the season ahead will be.

Gateshead International Stadium was Rocking, There was a buzz around the stadium in sheer excitement for Gazza's Debut as their Manager.
It took 20 minutes before Gateshead opened the scoring , When Carl Finnigan was brought down in the box and up stepped South African midfielder Matty Pattison to blast the ball down the middle to give Gateshead the lead.
The Fans then seen a sublime volley from Carl Finnigan hit the underside of the bar and go across the line to make it 2
The game was finally sealed on the 69 minute from a Pattison Corner saw Finnigan head home for 3 goals and 3 points on Gazza's Debut .
