Possesion, goals and clean sheets - Tested with Barcelona and Boca Juniors

This is a very good tactic and i dont think testing it with Barcelona is to bad. Coaching barca in fm 2013 is more difficult than in fm 12 or 11. Most of the opposition teams are playing total defense, reminding me Greece in Euro 2004. I think the secret of this tactic is the use of WBs, who are the key players to open the opposite defense. They cause a threat lots of times during the game, forcing the opposite defenders to close them done. As a result, space is created. An other think i want to mention: Whats the matter with a lot of fm players who create tactics and advise: No individual opposition instructions;;; I mean, opposition instructions are there obviously for a reason. How is it possible to totally ignore them

good opening post mate!

that is decent results no doubt, but with Barca.. it's pretty easy, even with Fm13..

what I suggest is trying it with other teams from other leagues like:

Schalke/Southampton/CSKA/Corinthians etc, even Chelsea/Arsenal/Liverpool :)

I agree with Raikan007 Barca is top 5 team so the most tactics will fit. I aprove tactic which are good for low team then I'm sure that the tactic is good. Anyway when u will make ur own tacitc Raikan? The possesion tactic ;D which u are the best of creating :) I will test it in Legia Warsaw - Polish Leauge.(with some bought players but CA is about 140!) wish me luck anyway :)

Finally a tactic that works !!!!!
I have started a new career with Man Utd and following 5 victories pre-season i opened my premier season away to Southampton and came away with a 4-1 victory and this was followed by Chelsea at home which to my amazement we won 6-0.
I know people will say "well your playing as Man Utd,what do you expect" but i have used Utd with various other tactics and had defeat after defeat.
The difference with this tactic is the defence, they actually seem to hold position, tackle hard and play as a unit and as it is a counter tactic when the chance comes they get the ball forward quickly which is meat and gravy for the likes of Van Persie and Kagawa to latch onto (Van Persie got 4 against Chelsea)........Well Done Mate

yeah i noticed that too! the two CB's and the anchorman really hold their positions, i havent been able to replicate that in any other tactic yet, especially a very fluid one! my anchorman\def midfielder always wanders up the pitch and gets involved in the passing play outise the area, so when we lose the ball, my defence is always terribly outnumbered on the counter! i've only managed to play a couple of friendlies with this tactic but it looks very promissing. i'm playing with wolves, i'm in my third season so i've been able to completely overhaul my squad and now have quite a few very skillful young players, so even though this tactic may be applicable more to bigger teams, i think it might work! the only tweak i made was to move the wingers to AM position, although i left them as IF because it better suits the players i have at my disposal. so far so good, but it is very early days. if its successful i will post some results.

Rodrigo, do you always play counter? have u tried using control in home games or does that affect flow of the play? i'm also very interested in the changes that you are thinking of implementing to adapt this tactic to smaller clubs. and does any one else have any ideas on how to do so?

one thing i have noticed is, compared to all the other wing-back tactics i've found, this is a very balanced tactic, even though it was tested with barcelona i think it may be successful, simply because it is the only wing-back tactic i've found that doesnt employ super offensive wing-backs. these wing-backs are more suportive, which is a plus on the defensive side, and i've noticed they also arrive late around the area or on the wing to unblock those strange and annoying posession situations in front of the opponents box due to the heavy clustering of offensive and defensive players.

all in all, this looks very promissing, so keep up the good work! now i juts need to find a way to play FM at work and i'm golden! :P

changing counter to say, attacking is actually just changing the sliders tempo, defensive line etc. Since he fixed all these sliders, changing counter to other mentality won't change the tactic.

I'm playing this tactic with liverpool and so far it performed very well. Consistent 3-4 ccc/game and solid defensively. Then again I'm using liverpool with neymar wellington nem sterling as AM's so I don't know this tactic would perform with worse team. Neymar seems to be legendary with this tactic though.

Overall I really like this tactic. The team play very beautiful football and easy on the eye.

yes, the tempo, defensive line and width sliders are fixed, but the mentality and creative freedom of some players isnt, so if you change from counter to control, it will affect these sliders i believe

This tactic just gets better and better,my 3 latest results were all victories 2-0 vs West Ham,5-0 vs Sunderland and 4-0 vs Spartak in the Champions League and i acheived possesion of over 70% in every game

Espero que no me den de baja el post por que esta en español. Buena táctica le voy a dar una oportunidad con un equipo de las ligas bajas de Inglaterra. Saludos desde Argentina!

Let us know how you get in English lower leagues Lucho616. It will be interesting to see if the tactic is as successful. Greetings!

Didn't worked for me using City at home against West Ham.

From other tactics i have to say that players having the skills to fit the player roles given is much more important in 13 than in 12, and maybe that's the reason im not using it anymore, for now.

Would you mind to post some pics of Posession and how many passes etc ?
I will post some pictures later, at the moment i'm trying to make some tweaks to make this tactic effective with smaller teams.

Thanks mates for the feedback.

About the tweaks i making to make it work for smaller teams, i'm trying to adjust the defence so they don't caught me in counters or when a skillfull and fast player get rid of one of mine the team tends to be quite disbalanced, so that's what i'm trying to fix, if anyone can do it, welcome! :D

Yo también soy de Argentina. Decime si funciona en ligas bajas que todavía no lo probé, sino, espero que con los cambios que le estoy haciendo se mejore ese deficit para equipos más chicos.

It's strange that with Manchester City didn't work, you should check if you followed every instruction i made, or, give the tactic a few more matches.

Do you have to assign individual marking orders for each game, or only when the opponent is playing a "weird system"?

:)

Yes, orders for each game, but once you are used to it it's pretty simple and automatic.

There's one thing: i've used this direct orders, but you have the wingers to trade sides, but they don't change the direct order marking, so, the FB or WB will be loose, and your players will just running from one side to the other.

I've noticed this because my assistant told me that my wingers (Silva and Nasri) where marking a player that was not near them, causing problems to the team.

Gonna try this with FC United..
I just untick the "Switch Position" on the wingers

I didn't have that problem, maybe it's because they changed tactics, that way your individual instructions get messed up, but if not, you shouldn't have that problem.

This is esentially the same tactics I have been playing with great success. I've saw a few others like it too.

all i can say about this tactic rodrigo is wow WoW WOW.this tactic is so effective and the detailed information you provided, just makes it such a joy to use.only been beaten the once in a friendly, apart from that i've neither won or drew.just a amazing tactic thank you so much.hope you make more of them mate :D

Great job, mate! seems good, will try this with Besiktas...but it's too hard to find good wing backs :(
