Is 442 the default win tactic this year?

Ive tried creating so many different tactics and they might work for a short time, then fall to bits or beat the big teams and lose to the small teams or just not be able to overcome a certain formation....but when I play 442 I just win....I don't care if the opposition score first I've watched enough games to know I will get a few chances and put at least 1 of them away.
obviously you may question my tactic creating skills and I wouldn't argue with that, I'm no expert here but also far from an idiot, I've tried simple tactics simple formations, crazy formations, tried to death to make a 4231, changing the approach from slow and short to direct and quick and so on but in the end I just end up going back to the good old 442, just seems to work against everything and big and small clubs.

4-2-3-1(4-3-3), with two wingers, and AM and a TM works brilliantly for me.
 
F'in sick of this game. I have achieved everything with Liverpool after months of trying to create a tactic that my players do not ignore which is great, also got them playing great football. So therefore I thought I would try Swindon town fc for more of a challenge. Create a good tactic, one I know works, although I do not expect it to be a plug n play tactic, losing 4-1 to a lower league team is just ridiculous, every shot went in, this is by far the worst FM yet. This is it now. Even when I was creating success with Liverpool, because i'd say win about 10 games in a row, the next match would be against a **** team, suddenly my team would start playing differently and lose as if the game will not allow you to have a hot streak. F you SI and F your stupid leaking defence system, suck my balls
 
Hum, so FM is bad because you expect a tactic that works with a top team like Liverpool doesn't work with a weak team like Swindon ? Right :D
 
Why cant my players handle presure! They f up pretty much every important game espcially in CL playoff phase!
I know we all like to "slack off" the players in real life but I'm having a real hard time to believe that they are such ******* as this game makes them out to be. Every time... the last half of the season is excruciating to watch as they slowly but surely destroy the whole season. I have to have a pretty big lead in Jan-Feb if I want to win the League!

And when is SI going to fix this "first touch" bug that makes the players kick the ball like a meter in front of them and often giving it to the opposition. It's great fun when the central defender does it and gives the ball to the opposition striker.

And if you cant fix the ME fix at least the match animation that I dont have look the idiots deliberately look for the challenge by just walking towards the opposition opposition player, so that they can lose the ball! I dont mean that they try dribble past them or anything, they just walk towrds them and hold the ball even when there is multiple options to pass.
 
Goals From Set Pieces

The directors want more goals from set peices so my assistant has been focusing on this all season. they still aren't happy.

No, as I said I don't expect plug and play, but I don't expect to lose 4-1 to a lower league team either.
 
Nothing shocking here! Sending offs early in games change the outcomes regardless of recent forms and results.
 
Fullbacks/Wingbacks, constantly shooting and never crossing, even with instructions of 'shoot less often' and 'cross more often' they do the complete opposite, annoying.

Football doesn't depend exclusively on tactics and a single match won't tell you nothing, your players could just have a bad day. The real important question could be what happened in that match in order for your team to loose 4-1, as a manager what is your assessment.
 
Football manager 2014 The worst

I have been playing FM from 2007. I wasted al lot of my hours on this game because I liked it. The 3 fms i first played ( 2007-2010) I could not even complete one season because I did not understand anything of this game. From 2010 I came on a dutch forum, managers united, and in started to understand it all and the results came. I never was and never will be a tacticus genius but I managed some times and some times I totally fail but then a new club and then success made we wanna play Fm more and more.
Until FM 2014.. This game is in every little thing the wrong way for me i cant enjoy it anymore. I have the feeling that is al about spending money on players now , i have been succesvol but only after spending millions on players.. I will look at the forums here for about tactics but i feel like it would not matter because i like to play in the highest leage with small clubs but they dont have money.

you don't money to buy great players in order to have success.

you must have some instruction that is holding them back, post a few screenshots at the tactics forum.
 
Dominated the whole ******* game and they just score from all 3 of their corners. This is despite my team training on defending set pieces whole year long. Simply stupid, this game should be renamed into Corners Manager 2014.
