This one is about boards and wages...
I've just gotten my club to the BPL after joining them at the bottom tier of English football. So, I've gotten them promoted five times, won 307 matches with the club, and won 70% of my matches. My first contract was for £300/week, which wasn't a big deal. I've re-signed with the club twice, the last time was three years ago, when the club was playing in League 2 - for £1500/week. Although this wage was low compared to my peers, it didn't bother me too much at the time, because it really has no effect on game play. So now, after gaining BPL promotion, I'm in talks with the club to sign a new contract. Guess how much they are offering? £ 1600/week, a £100/week raise. The club has plenty of money (+£150k wage budget, £5.75m transfer budget remaining, £47m balance), and I am highly sought after as a manager (I just turned down job offers from Chelsea and Liverpool). The lowest wage any other BPL manager makes is £19,500/week, more than 12 TIMES what I'm being offered.Just for kicks, I made a secondary save, and quit my job. The club signed the manager who just got Liverpool relegated (they were picked to finish 3rd) for £41,000/week! WTF!?
