Huddersfield Town
Ive started a game to become a journey man manager but have fell in love with this Huddersfield Town game.
2010/11 - League 1 possible play-off contenders with the likes of Jordan Rhodes, Lee Peltier, Alex Smithies the names that spring to my mind along with Anthony Pilkington. I brang in mostly loan signings and was pleasantly suprised with Danny Ward who i found to be a outstanding left winger or striker. Calum Davenport proved to be a sensational buy and was the rock in the heart of the defence. I went on a surge after January winning games comfortably with Jordan Rhodes and Alan Lee knocking in the chances created by a hard working midfield. Promotion in 2nd place was secured with a 1-1 draw against Colchester on the last day having only held 2nd spot for the last few games.
2011/12 - Promotion to the Championship meant the option to buy a better players and with my transfer head on snapped up some terrific buys with a £1.5m budget in came Steven Caldwell and Steve Gohouri from Wigan. Savio and Lloyd Dyer for £500k each and Kyle Walker on loan from Spurs. All played a key part in Huddersfield staying in the Championship without going into the relegation zone all season long. Goal completed and a chance to build on a solid 18th place finish next season.
2012/13 - Year 2 in the Championship and parent club Chelsea finally let the kids come to Huddersfield. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Connor Wickham came in to an already strong strike force. Boyata, Spearing and Ferdinand all followed which produced some vintage home performances but very poor away. After a win at Carrow Road against Norwich in early December, Huddersfield failed to win another away trip for the rest of the season and with it confined them to the Championship for another year as Play-Off hopes washed away. The manager not solely to blame as injuries hit hard during the winter months.
2013/14 - After last seasons promising home record hopes where high as the new season got underway knowing if only they could sort out their away form and remain strong at the Galpharm they would be contenders for Promotion via the Play-Offs or better. Add to that the excitement of Wickham and Chamberlain staying another year on loan and a £7m transfer kitty with the option of an added £5m if League contending came around players started looking at Huddersfield as a potential link into the Premier League. Mellis, O'Shea, Lalkovic and Townsend all were snapped up on free transfers to add youth to a more complete looking side. Then incame the shock transfers of Fraizer Campbell and Ryan Taylor with Johnny Bostock soon after. 2 more loans from Manchester United with ball winner playmaker Arnaud Souquet and Lee Hodson ment any injury crisis threat wouldnt dent Huddersfields shear depth in their squad.
A 1-0 win over recently promoted Bornemouth abolished their away trip fears which was soon backed up with wins at Bolton, Portsmouth and arch rivals Leeds. The home form echoed last season with 4-1 victories over Watford and Cardiff and with Fraizer Campbell on 13 goals in 14 games, Huddersfield romped up to the top of the Championship as excitement builds (Currently NOV 2013)
