Match Summary

With the two sets of supporters going for eachother's throut's, a cracking atomsphere filled the olimpic stadium. It was the home fans who were celebrating first after 2 minutes when Street can out, got took on by Antwi and he scored, ****. Goatshead looked strong with multiple attacking chances but nothing coming from them. They went into the break one up.

Second half looked better for Spartans as Jonny Allan saw his second yellow after 54 minutes. Gateshead didn't seem settled and after a dangerous tackle, Clark got a straight red to reduce the home side to 9 men. Blyth started to look more dangerous and equalled the score on 71 minutes from striker Kane Hemmings. With the score equal, both sides were going for the vicotry but neither could steal it. The game saw it's 3rd red card when Turnbull got his second yellow on 86 minutes. After a long, entertaining game, both teams got a draw out of their encounter.

Street is out on international duty so Cunningham gets the start again. The two new lads have a chance to show themselves infront of a home crowd as they are poised to start. Good game expected with a former league 2 team.

  1. Cunningham
  2. Brown
  3. Roe
  4. Henderson
  5. Nicholas
  6. Cole
  7. McDermott
  8. Barnes
  9. Marwood
  10. Hemmings
  11. Montano
Match Summary

A good crowd of 989 turned up with a good away population in the Plessey End. Cheltenham were todays opposition. The atomsphere was good for a mid-week game. Kick off was 3:00 as it was still the summer holidays. It wasn't long for the first goal to rustle a net and it was the Blyth goal which saw Cunningham picking the ball out of. Ben May on 7 minutes gave the visitors the lead. 20 minutes past with more chances for both teams but Davis double Cheltenham's lead with a powerful, well-placed shot past Blyth's number 1. Half time came and Blyth were being out-played.

Second half saw the introduction of Nardiello to strenghin the attacking side of Spartans. But evan with another striker on the pitch made not much difference and after 74 minutes, Ben May made sure of a victory for Cheltenham with a one on one with Cunningham. Blyth were well and truely beat. The difference was quite shocking and leaves Blyths players with poor morale going into a local cup game next for them.

Everybody is avalible for cup-tie. Soulsby has desided to give the reserved players a run-out against a poor opposition where a comfertable win is expected.

  1. Cunningham
  2. Harrison
  3. Taylor
  4. Morris
  5. Brown
  6. Cole
  7. Turnbull
  8. Dale
  9. Marwood
  10. Nardiello
  11. Tait
Match Summary

With only 171 coming through the turnstyle in Morpeth, mostly Blyth fans, the atomsphere was mostly related to a library scene. Onto the football, well what was of it. The first half didn't have much happening for either teams and it looked like it was going to go half time without any change until Larnell Cole launched the ball from 30 yards across the goal into the net. Blyth went into the break with a goal advantage.

Second half must surely be better if Morpeth are to get into the next round. But it was the away fans cheering again after a goal from favourite Robert Dale. A scapy goal it was after a corner wasn't cleared. Morpeth were given a penelty which they converted after Harrison had a hold of a shirt in the area. But any hope of a Morpeth comeback was denied when Michael Nardiello buried the ball into the net on 82 minutes to make sure of Spartan's getting into the next round.

Adam Street returns in goal after a two game absence. After a good performance at Morpeth, Dale has retained in the starting 11. Also former captain Paul Brayson gets a rare start for the not match fit Hemmings who's on the bench.

  1. Street
  2. Harrison
  3. Morris
  4. Taylor
  5. Cave
  6. Turnbull
  7. Tait
  8. Cole
  9. Deverdics
  10. Brayson
  11. Dale
Match Summary

With just under 24,000 red seats surrounding people in the Darlington Arena, the game kicked off. Darlington were near the top of the league so they were expecting a win but Blyth tried their best to get a point or three away from home. It wasn't long until the first goal went into a net. It was the home team who took the lead on 20 minutes after a miskick from Cave fell to Danny Powell to pass into open goal. 10 minutes later it was 2-0 after a penetly was given away for handball which really wasnt fair. The break came with Blyth behind but only just.

Second half was much less entertaining with players from both sides slowing down. Even with the introduction of three subs in Henderson, Marwood and Hemmings could get a goal. With 9 minutes remaining, Blyth favourite Robert Dale was shown a straight red after a two footed challenge on a Darlo player. The game ended with Blyth looking weak and not in a good spot in the league table.

  5. Roe
  6. O'Mahoney
  7. Cole
  8. Deverdics
  9. Marwood
  10. Nardiello
  11. Montano
Match Summary

First home game for a while with the visitors from Isle of Wight. Newport are also in a poor possistion in the league so somehow this could end up being a '6 pointer' for both teams. 865 football fans fitted into the Croft Park stands which added to the pressure of the players. It was the away team who started the better and were awarded a penetly after 20 mins which was put away. The two sides went into the brake with the one goal separating.

Second half looked like the Spartan boys wanted to get level and they aventually did from captain Michael Nardiello on 65 minutes. Chances did come for both teams for the last 25 minutes but the finishing was poor and nothing else found it's way past the strong goalkeepers.

Match Summary

Another big game for the Spartans as they travel down to Sussex. The Blyth management wern't happy from kick off as the refferee didnt stop play for an injury on the pitch and Eastborune continued to play and scored from that piece of play. Only 7 minutes played and Blyth were behind. It got suddenly worse for the North East team as Adam Street got caught up in a challenge and picked up an injury. Cunningham was called into action. As the game was very unsettled, Blyth managed to find a chance with Kane Hemmings finding himself 1 on 1 with Eastbournes goalkeeper. He placed it around him and celebrated with his team mates. It was 1-1 with only 30 mins played. Half time came with the two sides evan.

The second half didnt have as much crash, bang or wallop as the first and nothing really took off. Neither team could score in their goals. The game ended respectibly as a draw.

  5. Roe
  6. O'Mahoney
  7. Deverdics

  10. Hemmings
  11. Nardiello
Match Summary

Not a very large turnout for a saturday game but the game still is as big with both teams needing the win. It took a while for the game to get going and just in the last minute of the half, Tamworth took the lead with Christophe Lemaire. Half time came with Tamworth just in the lead in an equal game.

Second half was alot like the first with not many chances produced. The introduction of Tunnard and Montano didnt make much difference and the home team ended up with all three points where a draw would of been reflected as a fair result.

  4. Toure
  5. Roe
  6. Barnes

Match Summary

A win could really help out Spartans after a while without a win the league. 738 a decent crowd for today's game against Bromley. It was a possitive start for Blyth as they attacked their defence with strong numbers. It only took 13 minutes for the first goal to go in, but it wasn't from a Blyth player. An own goal from Kevin James gave Blyth a well deserved lead. 10 minutes later after the first goal, another goal added to the game and yet no Blyth player had been put onto the score sheet. Another own goal but from Mark Haines gave Spartans are 2-0 lead. Just five minutes later it was 3 when Kane Hemmings turned the ball into the Bromley net. Blyth were cruzing and onlt 30 minutes had been played. Nothing else occured for the rest of the half and the two teams went into the break.

Second half started off poorly with not many chances ocuuring. Early in the second half, Blyth's defender Toure picked an injury and was subbed for Morris, it didnt look to seroius at first. On the hour mark, Bromley recieved a silly penelty but was well saved by Jake Cunningham. But the action wasnt over for Blyth as their star striker, Kane Hemmings was shown a straight red for a tackle from behind with two feet up. The game ended soon on a positive with a great win but the dispointment for a Hemmings who will miss a game or two.

Good story mate, just a few things you can do to clean it up, maybe some screenshots of your results, also making the score to the games more obvious, as well as whether you won or lost. All in all though, good story, great to see a thread on a BSP team, i've tried to get Redditch promoted for three seasons, get closer each time, but into greater debt. Good luck!

Thanks for the comment mate, much appreiciated. Good luck with Redditch in your promotion quest. I assume you and your players are actually getting paid! :)

Barrow 0 - 0 Blyth Spartans
Wednesday 5th October - 19:45
Holker Street, Barrow-on-Furness
Attendence: 574

News: Brand new signing, Danzelle St. Louis-Hamilton starts in goal for his debut. Kane Hemmings doesn't even reach the bench due to his suspension. Nardiello takes Kane's place.

Match Summary: A late, midweek game which see's Blyth travel across the Pennines to Cumbria. Barrow started off the season well and were favourites for the victory. The game was hard to play due to heavy rain which made it difficult for both teams to play to their likings. Nothing in the form of chances came for either teams in the first half as they went into the break still level. Second half was no different but the home teams pitch was littered in divits which caused problems. After 72 minutes, Blyth defedner Jordan Brown was taken off due to damage to his leg after attenmting to clear a ball for a through-in. And to make things worse for the visitors, Oliver Nicholas got himself sent off after a late tackle on a barrow forward. With Barrow with a full strengh squad couldn't capitalise and the game ended as it started.

haha, can a semi-professional team take away the wage budget in-game? But yeh, such a shame about the actual team, anyways great story, what's your end goal for it? Premier league, Champions Cup?

Saturday 8th October - 3:00
Croft Park, Blyth

News: Louis-Hamilton continues ingoal. Hemmings starts his ban today so Nardiello starts. McDermott also gets a run-out in centre mid.

Match Summary: It was the home team who started off the better team and was Boston on the back foot from the beginning. After 13 minutes defender James Taylor gave the north east side the lead with a header at the front post. With Taylor flying with confidence, he stupidly went steaming into a tackle and got himself sent off on 39 minutes, ****! Second half came around with the both teams playing simple football which saw not many chances on goal. With 8 minutes remaining, Blyth made sure of a win with a goal from Chritian Montano. Blyth had won a good game before their Senior Cup game against local rivals Bedlington Terrior's.

News : Reserve squad out for what should be a comfertable victory for the Blue Square Premier side. Nardiello keeps his place in the squad to make sure of a solid striker pressence.

Match Summary : The game got off to a bright start with the home team looking strong in most positions of the field. Blyth were on the back-foot from the pacey wingers Bedlington had and from a dangerous cross, Oliver Nicholas ended fumbling the ball into his own net. Bedlington had took a unexpected lead over their local rivals with only 13 minutes played. For the rest of the half, Blyth wern't aloud to get into the home team's area with pace lacking upfront.
Second half Blyth looked more up more a cup game and quickly equilised from Charile Tunnard. It only took the striker two touches to send the defenders into confusion and a sweet shot past their keeper to make it 1-1. Nothing else can from the close encounter and a reply back in Blyth is required.

News : A almost full squad out for Blyth as they want to take control of this cup tie reply. Street comes in goal for a rare apperence for Blyth. Montano replaces Nardiello after picking up a knock during the first encounter between the teams.

Match Summary : Blyth looked much strong at home and after only 70 seconds they were in the lead from Christian Montano. After this goal, the pace of the game took a sudden drop until the half time whistle.
Second half the fuse was relight when Oliver Nicholas buried a header into the net on 51 minutes. Bedlington wern't giving up just yet as they pulled one back on 63 minutes from Webster. With the away team close behind, Blyth made the change of adding Paul Brayson onto the pitch and made an immediate impact as he slotted a one on one past the Terriers keeper to make it 3-1. With seconds remaining, Bedlington got another from Robertson but that wasnt enough and Spartans move into the next round and dump out Bedlington.

Blyth Spartans 1-3 Crawley Town
Wednesday 19th October - 19:45
Croft Park, Blyth
Attendence : 929

News: Louis Hamilton returns ingoal. Youngster's Henderson and McDermott start with only a few players avalible with injuries and poor fitness spreading around the club.

Match Summary: A good crowd came to Croft Park for tonight's meeting between Crawley town. The game got off on the wrong foot when the visitors took the lead after 5 minutes from Masterton. After that, Blyth looked better with Marwood and Deverdics tearing down the wings. But on 25 minutes it got worse for Blyth as Wright made it 2-0 to Crawley. Blyth couldn't do anything with their possesion. A break-through for striker Kane Hemmings saw Blyth pull a goal back just before the half time break.

"The Red Devil's" looked evan strong on the ball second half. With their big money player, Richard Brodie made it 3-1 on 75 minutes slotting the ball under Hamilton. Blyth couldn't find a way back into this game and thats the way it ended. Blyth are sitting in 20th in the league and danger of relegation is starting to worry some people.

Croft Park, Blyth.
Attendence : 1010

News: Robert Dale returns to the starting 11 after his suspension. Michael Tait also starts in centre mid along side Greg McDermott. Harrison replaces Brown at right back.

Match Summary: A repeat of the 5th round FA Cup tie back from 1978. A decent crowd again attend the game. This game was looking to have action after the first few minutes after both sides hit their oppositions crossbar. Wrexham had a great chances to take the lead after 14 minutes but a saved penelty from Hamilton denied them. Unfortunatly that was the last chance on goal by either teams that half as te break came with the scores the same as they started.
Second half was more of the Spartans as they pressed for a goal. On 60 minutes they were awarded a penelty afterBridge-Wilkinson tripped Hemmings in the box and got his second yellow. Phil Cave stepped up and put it passed the post, ****. After this, both teams just lost the energy and the game ended 0-0.

Thursday 27th October - 3:00
Bootham Crescent, York
Attendence : 1384

News: Mesca starts in centre mid for first apperence for a while. Matt Barnes takes place right wing with Marwood on the left.

Match Summary: The game was to be a close encounter between two teams looking for a desperate three points. It took a while for anyone to case threats on goal but the home side took a lead on 38 minutes from Danny Green. This was the score at the break, Blyth looked poor going forward which wasn't a good sign looking into the second half.
Again neither side took many risks going forward in a repeat of the first half. York had a fantastic chance to wrap up the game in injury time when Carruthers missed a penelty. York took all three points in a poor display of football.

Blyth Spartans 3-1 Burton Albion
Saturday 12th November - 3:00
Croft Park, Blyth
Attendence: 870

News: With Hamilton injured in training and Street on international duty, Cunningham was recalled on again. A rare start for Turnbull and Tunnard made the changes from the original team.

Match Summary: A lovely day in Blyth saw a good crowd turn up for the first home game in November. Spartans got off to a flyer after a penelty was awarded on 3 minutes. Robert Dale made sure of the finish in the bottom corner. With Burton stunned, Blyth took the advantage and doubled their lead on 15 minutes from a goal off Charlie Tunnard. His first league goal of the season. With 35 minutes played, Charlie Tunnard doubled his tally of goals in the game to make it 3. Blyth were crusing and didn't look like stopping but unfortunatly the break came to soon.
Second half Burton changed their way and looked more like scoring, which they did on 63 minutes from Ghanaian striker Adjeman-Pamboe. Blyth slowed down the pace with fitness starting to catch up on some players and let the game finish with a good victory.

Blyth Spartans 1-1 Eastbourne - FA Cup 1st Round
Saturday 19th November - 3:00
Croft Park, Blyth
Attendence: 747

News: After getting a bye into the first round, Blyth will need to preform well to beat the mid-table Eastbourne. With Hamilton still out, Street has returned from Canada and is given the number 1 shirt.

Match Summary: A cracking atomsphere for a cup game with away fans almost filling their stand. The game started off very slowly and both teams would of been disapointed with their performances. In added time, Cole was injured after a heavy tackle and was replaced by Turnbull just before the break.
Second half sped up with players from both sides taking more risks to get their side in the lead. On 62 minutes, the away fans were going crackers on the side of the stand as their players went into them to celebrate a goal from Atkin. Blyth fans didnt like this one bit and really started to get behind their players. With minutes remaining, a cross from Harrison into the box found Kane Hemmings to header into the net on 87 minutes. Blyth fans reacted just as mad as they had just saved themselves from an early dumping out the FA Cup. A reply is needed to separte these team's. If required extra time and penetly's will be on the cards.

Blyth Spartans 3-0 Whitley Bay - Senior Cup Quarter Final
Tuesday 22nd November - 19:45
Croft Park, Blyth
Attendence: 721

News: A reletivly strong side for the cup game. Cunningham back in goal, Assistant Manager Chris Swailes first apperence of the season at centre back along side James Taylor. Former captain and fan favourite Gareth Williams starts at right back for Whitley.

Match Summary: Another good crowd for a mid-week game. Whitley had only a couple of fans which was disapointing. Blyth good off to a flyer when Kane Hemmings gave them the lead on 4 minutes. Only 10 minutes later, Kane Hemmings got his and Blyth's second goal. After this the game took a sudden drop and the pace slowed right down. Blyth were just retaining possesion over their local rivals. The half time break came with Spartans "Owning"!!
Second half started alot like the end of the first with simple passing at the back. With the game starting to get boring for the fans, a sudden uproar from the stands got the Blyth players on their skates. O'Mahoney swung in a cross to find the advancing Nicky Deverdics to make it 3-0. They had battered Whitley Bay and truley deserved their place in the semi final against Newcastle Benfield.

Eastbourne 2-1 Blyth Spartans - FA Cup 1st Round Reply
Friday 25th November - 19:45
Priory Lane, Eastbourne
Attendence: 878

News : Street makes his 10th apperence of the season in goal for Blyth. A new 4-5-1 was tried out for the first time so hopefully that could have a good effect on the team.

Match Summary : A poor home crowd but loud away fans from Blyth were herd around the whole stadium set the tone. It got off to a horrible start for Spartans as their centre back Oliver Nicholas was shown a straight red after kneeing an Eastbourne player whilst jumping, very soft. From then the game slowed right down with a 4-4-1 for Blyth with Michael Tait back in centre back. The rest of the first half dimmed out and the ended without any change in the scoreline.
Second half the home team looked to get stronger and found a weak spot in Blyth's defence in midfielder Tait and took the lead from Atkin on 58 minutes. With Blyth shaken from losing, Eastbourne took advantage and pulled away with another on 66 minutes from Boakye. Blyth were sinking with only 20 minutes left. The game slowed down until the last five mins and Blyth were attacking with numbers and pulled a very late goal from Steve Harrison after a corner on 90+2. Blyth didnt have enough time to get another and are dumped out the cup !!

Blyth Spartans 1-1 Cambridge
Thursday 1st December - 3:00
Croft Park, Blyth
Attendence: 907

News: Mesca makes his 7th game for Blyth along side Larnell Cole. Adam Street still in goal with Hamilton making the bench after returning from a broken wrist.

Match Summary: Blyths first game after being dumped out the FA Cup by Eastbourne and hopefully can move up the leadgue with their three games inhand. It was a relitivly slow start from both teams with only a couple chances each. Neither Blyth or Cambridge wanted to take the last risk incase of conceding on the counter and at half time the scores were still empty.
Second half started just the same as first with only the odd one or two oppotunities for each team. With fitness lowering, Soulsby brought on Montano for Hemmings for more pace upfront. On 73 minutes, Blyth captain Michael Nardiello put the home side into the lead. With Blyth looking to have stole all three points, Cambridge's Irish striker Conal Platt had it level yet again on 85 minutes. The game ended as a draw, a good result for both teams but three points would of lifted Blyth up two places.

Fleetwood 3-1 Blyth Spartans - FA Trophy 1st Round
Saturday 10th December - 3:00
Highbury, Fleetwood
Attendence: 1006

News: With a little confidence getting to the squad, a good chance of drawing against an inform side but it'll be hard as it's away from home. Street continues in goal with the number 1 shirt. Henderson returns at centre back along side Morris.

Match Summary: Another cup game for Spartans after losing out to Eastbourne in the FA Cup, they'll be hoping to get something out of the away trip to Fleetwood. The home team got off to the brighter start and opened the scoring on 3 minutes from former crewe striker Byron Moore. Blyth heads dropped instantly and the way they played with the football dropped a few gears. To add to their disapointment, Magno Vieria doubled the scoursers lead on 18 minutes. Blyth wern't enjoying this one bit. Just before the 40 minute mark, Moore made it 3-0 with a power drive past the impressive keeper Street. At the break, you could just tell that Soulsby was going to ******* (parden the french) his men for their first half display.
After being ruffed up by the coaching staff, The Spartans looked more up for a fight. Fleetwoods chances dropped as the defence of Harrison, Henderson, Morris and Roe picked up their game. The chaces at Blyth's end still lacked and time went on without any action at either ends. Just past the hour mark, Blyth striker Kane Hemmings pulled a goal back from nowhere. Blyth tried to push for more put the home side shut up shop and held on for what they had. Blyth's cup run's this season havn't work at all and money wont be follwoing into the bank account.

Blyth Spartans 1-2 Dover
Tuesday 13th December - 19:45
Croft Park, Blyth
Attendence: 815

News: Hamilton returns back in goal after his injury. Cheick Toure had been given a rest and is fit enough to start at centre back along side Morris. Cave comes into the squad to replace lacking fit Roe.

Match Summary: An important game for Blyth if they are to get themselves away from the drop zone. An even game for the two teams so a poor game could be expected. It was the southern team who took an early lead in the north east from a Hawkins goal on 5 mins. But Dover's keeper wasn't just watching after pulling off some fantastic saves from some thunderous shots from Hemmings and Nardiello. Dover went into the break with the lead put Blyth were right behind them.
Blyh came out into the second all guns blazing and managed to pull level on 52 minutes from young winger James Marwood for his second of the season. With the two locked at a point each, they were both pulling out to try and grap that all important goal and it was the visitors which founf themselves celebrating for the second time when Osei-Siribour sent Hamilton the wrong way to make it 2-1. Blyth couldn't come back from that goal and nothing was picked up again from the Spartans.

Kidderminster 1-0 Blyth Spartans
Saturday 17th December - 3:00
Aggborough, Kidderminster
Attendence: 1681

News: Canadian keeper Street back in goal with Hamilton lacking fitness. Striker Montano is being tried out on the right wing with nobody fit enough to fill that position.

Match Summary: Blyth's poor form has came at the wrong time with being dumped out of the FA Cup and Trophy. Also their position in the Blue Square Premier isnt looking to healthy. A cold december saturday saw then travel down to Kidderminster looking for something positive. Both teams started off poor which saw not many chances on goal. Just before the half hour mark, The Harriors took the lead from striker Nick Wright. The teams went into the break with that the only goal.
Second half was reletivly boring from a fans opinion and without any goals or shots infact saw the game run to a quite ending but again no points for the North East team.

Mansfield 0-3 Blyth Spartans
Thursday 22nd December - 3:00
Field Mill, Mansfield
Attendence: 2523

News: Steve Harrison is prefured on the right wing as Barnes is rested. Street still in goals as Blyth go into this game with a win in the league since 11th November.

Match Summary: A loud Field Mill gave an atomsphere around the ground as the two sides came out. It was a good start for Blyth as they countered attacked and took the lead from captain Michael Nardiello after 16 minutes. After 20 minutes, the home side were reduced to 10 men and gave away a penelty. Julian Cherel fouled Adam Drury in the box and was shown a straight red. Greg McDermott stepped up and buried it past Marriott. 10 minutes later Mansfield were down to 9 men after a two footed challenge on McDermott. It was Gary Silk who took the walk down the tunnel. Harrison was playing very well on the wing and from a cross met the header of Cheick Toure to make it 3-0 on 36 minutes. Blyth were playing amazing at the same time, Mansfield were having a dreadful effect on the game at all.
Second half saw Blyth calm the pace down and try to shut up shop. The first thing to occur in the half was when James Taylor saw red for a professional foul. Without much threat from Mansfield, Blyth seemed happy with the score and just held on tight. With minutes left, Nicky Deverdics has took off with a knee injury which saw him in alot of pain. The game ended with Blyth taking all three points.

Blyth Spartans 4-0 Gateshead :D:D
Wednesday 28th Decemeber - 19:45
Croft Park, Blyth
Attendence: 947

News: The non league derby of the North East England see's Gateshead travel across the tyne to Blyth. The same squad as the Mansfield but Charlie Tunnard on the left to replace the injured Deverdics.

Match Summary: Quite a poor attendence for a derby but it wasnt helpped from Gateshead's five fans. It was Blyth who was ontop of the visitors after pressing from the start. Blyth took a lead on 15 minutes when striker Michael Nardiello put the ball past Farman in the goal. 10 minutes later it was 2-0 when Adam Drury got his first goal for the club. Blyth were flying against a Gateshead team who are 3rd in the league. The break came with Blyth owning the game.
Second half, Spartans came out as they started and made sure of a win when Michael Nardiello slide it under Farman. Minutes later it was 4 when Adam Drury got his second of the game and league. The game took a drop in pace as subs where added to the game to keep the fitness at a high level. Blyth are not going to forget this result for a while and so they shouldn't.

Cheltenham 3-4 Blyth Spartans
Saturday 31st December - 3:00
Whaddon Road, Cheltenham
Attendence: 2641

News: Adam Drury retains his postion in the starting 11 after two good performances. Mesca comes in for McDermott. Street still in goal.

Match Summary: It was a good crowd at the Whaddon which really helpped to get behind the home side. It was the Robins who took a lead after 3 minutes from midfielder Frankie Artus. The league were looking good and made it 2-0 just before 10 minutes from Ben May. 8 minutes later Blyth's onform and captain Michael Nardiello made it 2-1. But the home side cancelled that out with another Ben May volley a few minutes later. But Blyth's players refused to give up and Michael Nardiello got another on 28 minutes to make it 3-2. The teams went into the break with five goals shared between them.
Second half saw a slow start but it was the roudey visitors who equilised on 70 minutes from sub Kane Hemmings. Both teams were pushing late on for the winner in a great contest but the visitors shocked most fans in the stadium by grabbing a late, sneaky goal on 86 minutes by Kane Hemmings. A fantastic game for Spartans who added to Cheltenham's bad run of form.

Blyth Spartans 2-0 Darlington
Monday 2nd January 2012 - 3:00
Croft Park, Blyth
Attendence: 986

News: James Taylor comes in at right back instead of Brown. Larnell Cole plays in centre mid surrounded by Tunnard on the left and Barnes on the right.

Match Summary: Another big game for the North of England as Darlo visit Croft Park. It took a while for the teams to warm up and start to pose threat on goal. Blyth's recent form continued after Adam Drury put the home side in the lead on 24 minutes. The only goal that half as the teams came to the break.
Second half seemed to have more action when Drury was taken off with a broken foot. Minutes later it was 2-0 when Joel Ward put the ball past his own keeper. Blyth slowed the game down incase of another injury and it faded to the full time whistle. Blyth manage to keep their enbeaten run on to 4 games.

Bath City 1-1 Blyth Spartans
Sunday 8th January 2012 - 15:00
Twerton Park, Bath
Attendence: 417

Team: Street, Brown, Toure, Nicholas, Roe, McDermott, Tunnard, Barnes, Nardiello(C), Hemmings, Montano

Match: It sure didnt sound or look like a Blue Square Premier game with a poor crowd and the lack of noise didnt help. The game didnt start like one either with both sides cancelling each other out going forwards. It was the home side who broke the defisite on 32 minutes when Blyth's Jordan Brown somehow turned and attempted to clear but ended up in his own net. A poor goal to concede for Blyth after doing well of late. Half time had came at the right time for both teams as tactics were needing tweaking.
Second half took a long time to start and without many efforts on goal made the game boring for the fans who had fed up. On 71 minutes it got worse for Blyth as they lost Jordan Brown to a second yellow. A really bad game for the right back which he needs to forget about quick! Minutes remaining, Blyth went for a last push and a last kick of the game on 90+4 saw Charlie Tunnard equal the score to make it 1-1 full time.

Fleetwood 3-2 Blyth Spartans
Wednesday 18th January - 19:45
Highbury Stadium, Fleetwood
Attendence: 1114

Team: Street, Harrison, Henderson, Nicholas, Roe, McDermott, Marwood, Cole, Nardiello (C), Thomas, Hemmings

Match: Back to the place where Blyth were dumped out the FA Trophy but in the league to get them back. Fleetwood got off to a flyer when Magno Vieira gave them the lead on 7 minutes. To make things worse for Spartans, Vieira doubled his goal tally on 12 minutes to but Blyth into panic. Just before half time, Fleetwood's Steve McNulty saw a straight red for a proffesional challenge. Minutes later, Blyth pulled a goal back from centre back Jeff Henderson on 42 minutes.
Second half took a while to get going with Fleetwood scared if they concede and Blyth worried if they will. On the hour mark, sub Stephen Turnbull curled a beaut from outside the box to level the scores. Blyth were back in it and full of confidence. New signing Thomas was failing to impress and was taken off with a slight hamstring injury. With it looking it going a points a peace, Vieira got his hatrick infront of the Fleetwood fans behind Street. They had stolen it late on and Blyth wern't happy !

Bromley 0-1 Blyth Spartans
Saturday 21st January - 15:00
Hayes Lane, Bromley
Attendence: 449

Team: Hamilton, Brown, Henderson, Toure, Roe, Montano, McDermott, Mesca, Marwood, Nardiello, Tunnard

Match: With the return of Hamilton, the defence will be feeling less pressure defending their goal. With the lack of wingers, Montano drops to the right and Tunnard goes upfront with Nardiello. Both teams are struggling in the league and a poor game was expected and thats what was delivered. First half lacked everything apart from an injury to Blyth defender Henderson who had to go off.
In the early stages of the second half saw Blyth take the lead from Christian Montano. With a goal to their name, Blyth desided to shut up shop and defedn their goal. Bromley couldn't get passed the solid numbers and ended up losing three points. Just before the end of the game, they lost their right back Collins to injury. Blyth take all the points.

Blyth Spartans 1-4 Kettering
Wednesday 25th January - 19:45
Croft Park, Blyth
Attendence: 733

Team: Street, Brown, Nicholas, Toure, Roe, Barnes, Turnbull, Cole, Tunnard, Thomas, Hemmings.

Match: A good game expected from both teams. It was the visitors who took the lead after 10 minutes from striker Andrew Hutchinson. Blyth wern't playing well today and Hutchinson made it 2-0 just before half time.
Second half saw more pace in Blyth's attacking and a goal from new striker Joel Thomas gave Blyth a way back into the game. But that was short lived when Kettering were awarded a penelty. It was well saved by the recently appointed Canada under 23 keeper Street. Only a few moments later Hutchinson got his hatrick to make sure of a win. To make the defeat sting a little, Marna made it 4-1 on 80 minutes to complete a hammering away from home.

Blyth's Loanee's

Spartans Danny Groves's loan at VCD Athletic has expired but have offered to renew it until the end of the season, which has been accepted. Danny has made 29 apperences for the club and has scored 4 goals. Also adding 4 assits and 3 man of the matches which is making good progress for possibly getting into the Blyth first team next season.

Also young striker Eoin Ridley has returned from Sutton Athletic. He only made 2 apperences and failed to make any mark at the club. Eoin is a home-grown lad from Blyth and has great potential.

Blyth Spartans 0-0 Eastbourne Boro
Saturday 28th January - 15:00
Croft Park, Blyth
Attendence: 853

Team: Street, Harrison, Nicholas, Toure, Cave, Montano, Mesca, McDermott, Marwood, Thomas, Nardiello

Match: The game didnt see any action as neither of the team's threatened the goals. A game where shots wern't on target.
Second half was much the same as Blyth couldn't get back the team who knocked them out the FA Cup earlier in the season. A point shared is the best result between these two teams.

Blyth Spartans 2-0 Tamworth
Wednesday 1st February - 19:45
Croft Park, Blyth
Attendence: 701

Team: Hamilton, Brown, Henderson, Nicholas, Roe, Marwood, Cole, McDermott, Mesca, Nardiello, Hemmings

Match: A cold, winter night in Blyth as Tamworth visit the North East team. The game got off to another slow start, as per, but soon picked itself up as Blyth took a 17 minute lead from an own goal from Tamworth's Michael Hector. Just before half time, Jeff Henderson made it 2-0 to Blyth with a header, backpost from a corner kick.
Second half, Blyth layed back and invited Tamworth into the game. A dangerous approach but it managed to hold out until the final whistle. Back to winning ways for the Spartans as they get ready for a bottom of the table clash at Boston.

Newport City 1-2 Blyth Spartans
Wednesday 8th February - 19:45
Newport Stadium, Newport
Attendence: 1283

Team: Hamilton, Brown, Toure, Henderson, Roe, Barnes, Mesca, Cole, Marwood, Hemmings, Nardiello

Match: With Blyth travelling all the way down the country, triedness was expected from the players as they got started. Just like most games, it took a while to get the ball flowing and it was the visitors who had the ball in the net first. Kane Hemmings blazed the ball past the keeper to give Spartans the lead.
Second half saw Newport flying into tackles which saw the score Hemmings took off with a cut on his leg. With a new found confidence, the home side came back level from Sam Foley on 54 minutes. The game calmed down and it looked like it was going to ened as a draw but for Charlie Tunnard scoring in the last minute to steal all three points. Fantastic !!

Blyth Spartans 2-1 Barrow
Saturday 11th February - 15:00
Croft Park, Blyth
Attendence: 997

Team: Street, Harrison, Toure, Henderson, Roe, Barnes, McDermott, Cole, Tunnard, Montano, Nardiello

Match: The game got off to a great start for the Spartans when captain Michael Nardiello woundered around the keeper to give Blyth a 6 minute lead. The game soon lost it's excitment as neither team took a risk to get close enough to the opposition's goal to get their shots on target.
Second half saw Christian Montano give Blyth a 2-0 lead from the start which was much sounded from the Spartan fans. With 10 minutes remaining, Barrow gave a little push to coming back into the game when Andrew Tutte pulled one back on 78 minutes. But Blyth held on tight after being bombarded for the remaining time and took three points again :)

Blyth Spartans 1-0 Rushden
Wednesday 15th February - 19:45
Croft Park, Blyth
Attendence: 952

Team: Street, Brown, Nicholas, Henderson, Taylor, Dale, Mesca, Cole, Marwood, Hemmings, Nardiello

Match: The game was tough for Spartans as Rushden were only one point off the top spot in the league. The only action for Blyth saw yellow cards go to Nicholas and Marwood.
Second half Spartans looked more focused to the game and they took the lead on 50 minutes from lead scorer Kane Hemmings. Blyth's fans really sounded their happiness of beating a high reputationed team and moving up the league table at high speeds. They are now only 9 points off the play offs which is alot better than this time last month.
