Just after the hour mark, Blyth's Matt Barnes made it a draw again. Darlo's Adam Hutchinson saw a straight red on 77 minutes after a proffesional foul on Hemmings.

Blue Square Premier - Match 3

Bromley 2-0 Blyth Spartans
Saturday 18th August 2012 - 15:00
Hayes Lane - 1206

A poor performance from the Spartans as they lose their first game of the season away to a team which a victory was possible and expected. Goals from Goulding and Harris made up for the score as Blyth leave with their heads down ahead the local derby next saturday which is going to be televised on Premier Sports.

Good luck! Hopefully you can get promotion this season. I like the layout.

Blue Square Premier - Match 4 - TV

Blyth Spartans 3-1 Gateshead
Saturday 25th August 2012 - 15:00
Croft Park - 1320

A real milestone in the season with a sucessful killing of the rivals from the other side of the river. Striker Joel Thomas took the lead on 28 minutes but was quickly level again when Agard scored on 32 minutes. Blyth had a chance to go into the break winning but a Roe penelty was saved well by Farman.
Second half took a slow start but Croft Park quickly was woken up again from a Ben Clark Own Goal on 70 minutes. With confidence flowing through the Blyth players blood again, they wrapped up a victory on 80 minutes when Jeff Henderson was found unmarked after a corner. Spartan fans will no doubt be happy with this win but will be more hopeful the goals keep coming during the entire season.

Thanks Flamindon, glad you like it too, aswell as myself :)

Spartans Sign Striker

With Blyth's Hemmings out for 2 months with torn ankle ligaments and Drury out for a month with a torn hamstring, the shooting force seemed out numbered so Soulsby has brought former Hartlepool forward Denis Behan. The Irish 28 year old has been looking for a club since being released from the League 1 side in the summer. Denis played for Cork City in the Irish Premier League for 8 years gaining great experience. He made over 170 apperences and scored 32 goals. Hopefully Denis will gel with the league during the early stage of the season.

A good win over a strong oppostion. With confidence still coming from the Goatshead match, this will only increase the players push for promotion which is still on the cards. The goal was scored by Christian Montano on 45 minutes just before the teams went into the half time break.

Northumberland Senior Cup - First Round

Blyth Spartans 4-2 Morpeth Town
Wednesday 5th September 2012 - 19:30
Croft Park - 550

An easy win which saw a 6 goal thriller go towards Blyth. Morpeth did put up a good fight but the difference between the two teams finally was shown in the final score. A debut goal for Denis Behan was sounded well by the Green Army on 28 minutes. But his game was cut short due to a pull hamstring on 44 minutes.
Just after the break, Morpeth's job got harder when they were reduced to 10 men on 49 minutes. Blyth doubled their lead on 53 minutes when Callum Morris buried a header past the visiting keeper. But the goals didnt end their. It was 3-0 on 57 minutes when striker Michael Nardiello struck the ball through the Morpeth defence and goalkeeper. A unlikely lifeline came to Morpeth on 61 minutes when Thomas made it 3-1. The game went flat for a whileuntil Michael Nardiello made it 4-1 on 83 minutes and made sure of progressing into the second round. Last minute of the game Morpeth did get another through Ferdinand but it wasn't enough as they leave Blyth going out at the earliest stage.

Blue Square Premier - Match 6

Blyth Spartans 2-3 Eastbourne
Wednesday 12th September 2012 - 19:45
Croft Park - 1016

An enteraining encounter which saw Eastborune take all three points. Borough took the lead on 26 minutes via Dean Sinclair. But just before the break, it was level again after Charlie Tunnard buried the ball into the back of the net on 45 minutes.
Second half more goals. First a penelty for Eastbourne was well finished by Simon Johnson on 69 minutes. But just as before Blyth came back to level the scores when Ollie Rowe put the ball in his own goal to make it 2-2 on 75 minutes. But Eastbourne managed to catch Spartans on the back foot and made it 3-2 on 83 minutes when Simon Johnson got his second of the game.
