scotland where the only team unbeaten in a world cup 1986 one i think it was despite not winning it a win and two draws in their group wasnt good enough to get through

heard it on the radio lol

The longest losing streak in English Football history was set this year by AFC Aldermaston, a non league side from Berkshire, at 40 games, ending with a 1-1 draw against Warminster Town. This beat the previous record of 39 by Stockport County in 1996.

that Barbados games sounds unreal

back on topic

Glasgow Rangers have won the Scottish League an incredible 53 times but in the 1890/1891 season they shared the trophy with Dumbarton. The club has also played in both Scotland and England's national cup competitions. Rangers reached the semi-final of the 1886–87 FA Cup only to be knocked out by eventual winners Aston Villa.

Nope, Celtic were the first British team to win the European Cup in 1967 (they actually won all 5 competitions they entered that year), but Tottenham won the European Cup Winners Cup in 1963.
the cup winners cup is not a major european trophy. That would be classed as a minnor trophy.

In 1950 India withdrew form the World Cup because FIFA refused to let their team play barefoot.

well thats you the super cup is minor as it is basicly a friendly but a tournament that pits some of europes top clubs against each other has to be classed as a major title

i know i was major chuffed when chelsea won it in 1998.

the cup winners cup was a major trophy mate

it was a minor trophy like the europa league is and the uefa cup was. yes it's a continential competition but as the top teams in the continent aren't entered it's only a minor trophy.

Liverpool Athletico Madrid Bayern Munich Celtic Rangers Sporting lisbon and lot other top teams from the Continent have been entered in the europa uefa and cup winners cup therefore should be considered a major european trophy

P.S. sorry for going off topic

- The ONLY team United beat away from home in the league during the entire 86/87 season was Liverpool. Whiteside 1-0 Boxing day.
- John Aston Jr. and Sr. were the only father and son to win a championship with the same club. United obviously.
- Sheringham became the oldest scorer of a hat-trick when he scored 3 in 2000.
- On his debut, Steve Bruce broke his nose, gave away a penalty and got booked. He broke his nose a massive 6 times during his career which shows his courage.
- Starting in '99 sometime, United went 114 league games without there being a 0-0 scoreline. At least the fans got their money's worth
- Denis Law scored an astonishing 7 hat-tricks in the 63/64 season. It was no surprise when he was named European Footballer of the year in '64.
- Steve Coppell played 206 league games ina row for United between 1977-81. This remains a record that will surely never be beaten in the modern game.
-George Best was United's top scorer for 5 seasons in a row. Ruud managed it for 4 seasons.
- Bobby Charlton was United's top scorer in 72/73 with a measly 6 goals.
- Schmeichel only let in one goal at home in the 94/95 season in the League.
- Matt Busby bought the grand total of 0 players between 1953-1957. It's simply astonishing if you really think about it.

- George Best scored a record 6 goals in a game against Northampton. People often forget that it was Brian Kidd who scored the other 2.
- Pallister played a record 62 games in one season (93/94). Safe to say he deserved his holiday that summer.
- David Beckham once turned up at a Spurs trial wearing a United jersey. lol
- Sir Bobby is accredited with first calling OT the 'Theatre of dreams'.
- Gary Bailey saved 3 penalties in the space of 8 minutes vs Ipswich in 1980.

- Bobby Charlton has scored a record 27 goals in derby games vs City.
- United scored an amazing 143 goals in the 56/57 league season.
- Cantona was the first United player to be sent off in consecutive games. Swindon & **** in '94.
- In the 1951/52 season, Jack Rowley scored 3 hat-tricks in just 22 days.
- Ruud scored 100 goals in just 131 games. Denis law did it in 139 games.
- Law is the only United player to have scored a hat-trick in each of the 3 European competitions. Overall he got 18 hat-tricks, which is a record.
- Neil Webb only scored 4 goals for United but they were all debut goals (League, league cup, Fa cup and Euro cup winners cup)
- In 1958 United became the first club to record a profit of £100,000.
- In the 1964/65 season, United only used 18 players in the league in the whole season.
- 5 ex United players have managed Preston North End- Charlton, Stiles, Kidd, McIlroy and Ferguson.

For the record all three European Trophies back in the sixties were classed as a major trophy. Winning any European trophy back then was considered a success and a achievment.

Tottenham are also
The first ever club to win the UEFA Cup (1972)
The first British club to win two different European Trophies - European Cup Winners Cup and UEFA Cup.
British record of eight consecutive victories in major European competition
Most prolific goal scorers out of any English team in European football competition, scoring an average 2.1 goals per game
Most matches played in the UEFA Cup by a British club

Juventus have played in black and white striped shirts, with white shorts, sometimes black shorts since 1903. Originally, they played in pink shirts with a black tie, but only because they had been sent the wrong shirts. The father of one of the players made the earliest shirts, but continual washing faded the colour so much that in 1903 the club sought to replace them.

Juventus asked one of their team members, Englishman John Savage, if he had any contacts in England who could supply new shirts in a color that would better withstand the elements. He had a friend who lived in Nottingham, who being a Notts County supporter, shipped out the black and white striped shirts to Turin. Juve have worn the shirts ever since, considering the colors to be aggressive and powerful
