Royston Drenthe has been immense, won us 2 games this month almost on his own.

2 first half goals gave us what felt like a comfortable victory.

Surprise to see Liverpool winning the premier league :s.

Onto the Premier League in the next update!

Pre-Season.

Due to being recently promoted to the premier league i was hoping for a reasonable amount of cash to bring in some players, it turns out the board had a different idea and i ended up selling on a few players to make money.

To begin the pre-season i started a cup that would be hosted at the Madjeski stadium, it was not a difficult competition, it was just so the players got some match fitness going into the more difficult pre-season friendlies.

Semi-final results.
FC Bayern ll 0 - 3 Havre AC.

Reading 8 - 0 AFC Dunstable.

Third-place playoff.
FC Bayern ll 5 - 0 AFC Dunstable.

Final.
Reading 2 - 1 Havre AC.

Managed to win the trophy quite easily, pretty much what I expected.

Other pre-season friendlies.
Reading 4 - 0 Binfield.
Barnsley 1 - 3 Reading.
Luton 0 - 1 Reading.
Nottingham County 0 - 1 Reading.
Highmoor Ibis 0 - 4 Reading.

Convincing displays throughout pre-season, hopefully we can take the run into the league, the player of pre season was...

August.
The Return to the premier league.
Transfers:
View attachment 373842
Both Ninos Gouriye and Marcelo Estigarribia completed their moves due to their contracts expiring at their current clubs.

Matt Phillips - Free.
View attachment 373846
Let the former Blackpool mans contract expire so that I didn't have to pay compensation, he adds depth to the attacking midfield right role and he has great potential.

Tomas Kalas - Loan.
View attachment 373847
Adds depth in the centre back role and he has been brilliant for me on previous saves.

Dani Pacheco - 375k from Liverpool.
View attachment 373848
He was transfer listed and 375k was too good to pass up so I brought him in and loaned him out to Elche for first team experience straight away.

Etienne Benteke - £3.5 million from FC Lorient.
View attachment 373850
He'll be spending the next few seasons in the under 18 squad to gain experience as he is a player for the future.

Anthony Peronin - £4 million from Olimpique Marseille.
View attachment 373852
Looks like such a good prospect for the future, a 5* potential goalkeeper, he'll be playing in the under 18's also.

Could we manage to get revenge on Liverpool?

Another strong and commanding display sees us come away with the spoils in this one.

Barclay's Premier League.

Pogrebnyak (74)
We dominated possession and did deserve a point, to make it worse after the match i got a message saying 'Chelsea given controversial penalty'

Barclay's Premier League.
Reading 0 - 0 Everton.
We dominated but just couldn't find a opening.

Barclay's Premier League.
Manchester City 4 - 2 Reading.
Karacan (37) Kelly (66)
From the start we knew it would be damage limitation but we did play well, they were just more clinical.

League Table.

Can't complain, nicely positioned in fifth, way above my expectations, in my mind all I wanted the team to do was reach the magic 40 points.
