Jose Mourinho Quits Madrid Post
(Mourinho handing in his resignation)
Real Madrid have confirmed that they have parted way's with manager Jose Mourinho after he handed in his resignation this morning. Although Mourinho (pictured above) was expected to leave Real Madrid in summer 2012 the exit has still come as a shock as he was expected to stay until the end of the season. Unconfirmed reports are coming in that Mourinho was growing inpatient with the boards transfer policy and wanted to add more players to the squad before the season began to try and overtake Barcelona as the top dogs in Spain. However backroom politics and growing pressure from the fans resulted in a bust up between the club and their former manager leading Mourinho to take drastic measures.
Mourinho is expected to take some time off from football to relax and calm his mind but speculation is already ripe over a move back to England. As for Real what does the future hold for them? They are still second best to Barcelona and the fans and board will be anxious to name a big name replacement as soon as possible. Managers such as Rafael Benitez, Arsene Wenger and Marcello Lippi are being linked with the job but nothing has been confirmed yet from the club.
What does the future have in store for this great club? Will they ever manage to match Barcelona? Will the new manager be able to live up to the pressure and expectations of coaching one of the most successful clubs in the world?
