Replacing My Idol's
''See you tommorow lads''
''Bye boss''
I departed from Old Trafford in my BMW after finishing training. I was a youth coach at Man Utd the manager of the Manchester United 18 squad. It was my dream to be work at Old Trafford even if it was as a cleaner. I had been in love with Man Utd ever since my dad took me to a Man Utd vs Arenal game in the late 70s. I had been a season ticket holder from 1991 until 2002 until I started coaching youth players at Barnet and then QPR but in 2005 Man Utd came in and offered me the chance to coach their under 18 squad. I have been here ever since.
On the way home I turned on the radio hoping to catch the sport at 5 O'Clock but I turned it straight back off when I hear the word cricket. I detest the sport and I detest people even speaking about it. Why cant they be normal and like football?
The second I came in the door my wife ran out into the hall and grabbed my arm tight. She pulled me into the living room and raised her shaking arm pointed at the TV. It was Sky Sports News that was on. ''What is it love?'' But before she had the chance to speak I noticed what she had seen.
BREAKING NEWS: MAN UTD SACK SIR ALEX FERGUSON AFTER 23 YEARS IN CHARGE!!!
---------- Post added at 07:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:32 PM ----------
I rushed to the phone and rang my close friend and work collegue Brian McClair to see if this was true and was astonished to hear that my idol Sir Alex Ferguson had been SACKED!!!!!!! I could hear in Brian's voice that he had been crying and I felt like crying too. It was the end of an era in footballing eyes and the end of the world in the Man Utd fans and players eyes. Fergie had been there since 1986 and yes, he might have made mistakes, but he made Man Utd the most popular club in the word. The Glazers had gone too far this time. The were wrecking Man Utd. FC of Manchester were going to become bigger if the Glazers had their way of doing things. When I came off the phone to Brian I just collapsed onto my chair in shock. I still couldn't beleive it. I only saw him joking around with Rooney and Giggs 3 hours ago and now he was gone. When I saw a Man Utd fan getting interviewed on SSN I turned the volume up.He looked angry.
'' This is the Glazers this is. The came in and tried to boss Fergie around and he wouldn't take it and after he stands up to them, they sack him. It should be them thats going, not Fergie. He is a legend in the clubs eyes and now they will probaly bring in a stupid foreign coach who doesn't have the heart or passion to be manager of us. We need a Man Utd diehard like Roy Keane but he is too inexperienced as are most of the people with that heart and desire.''
It is my dream to manage my boyhood hero's and I wish I was experienced enough to make them consider me but I am not. In saying that I've won 9 trophies in 4 years with my Man Utd Youth team so I must be good somewhere along the line. What is next for the club?
