The Irish FA have today announced that that former Manchester United Hero Dean Burke is the new manager of the Republic Of Ireland National Team.

After Giovani Trapatoni resigned from his role to join Turkey National team , The Republic Of Ireland were on the look out for a new manager.

Dean Burke was working as a coach with Manchester United , With that being his only managing experience but he has all of his Coaching Badge's.

Burke takes over with Ireland in second spot in their Group with Italy looking like they will take top spot , Burke will just have to cement them in Second Spot for the World Cup Qualifier Play-Off's.

( I know this is before what happened with Henry but just gonna start of here and see if I can get Ireland to the World Cup and what might have being )

P.S: This is my first story so feel free to tell me if I'm doing anything wrong.

Their was no staff at all in the Republic Of Ireland setup with just myself and Liam Brady, I placed adverts in the job centre for: A Goalkeeping Coach

Coach
Assistant Manager

I decided to terminate Liam Brady's contract Mutually. As he is leaving his post IRL I decided I should bring someone new in .

With the new staff in at the club I can now focus on the football team and will begun scouting young Irish prospects.

I think with the new staff I have a mix of experience and desire with the likes of Nuno Valente and Winston Bogarde trying to make a name for themselves.

Burke has left the door open for Stephen Ireland who had retired from International Football at the age of only 21 after the 'Granny Gate' episode.

Only a day later and Stephen Ireland has Rejected the offer from Burke to come out of International Retirement.

Its a blow to Burke as he could have really have done with a player of Stephen Ireland's ability.

Burke has included Clinton Morrison in his squad for match against Australia.

Morrison hasn't played for the Republic Of Ireland since 2005-03-29 against China in the Brian Kerr Era. /I] View attachment 37688

Clinton Morrison is said to be delighted to get the chance to play for Ireland again and has stated that its a decision Burke wont regret.

Also in the squad is Wes Hoolahan who is Burke's Cousin and he be relishing the chance of getting his second cap for Ireland.

Ye he is me cousin I often go over to see him play for Norwich,

He is getting married over here this year and im going the weeding 500 euro a night hotel after it tho!

Ye I think he is a great winger and is in the right club with Norwich

Burke has decided to keep Robbie Keane as Captain of the team with Richard Dunne the Vice-Captain.

With The Spurs forward arguably Ireland's biggest name Burke decided he should stick with him and let him lead Ireland on to what he hopes is the World Cup

Republic Of Ireland Vs Australia

First game in charge today for Burke in a friendly International Vs a strong Australia team.

Its not the easiest game's to start of with for Burke but it will be a early chance to prove his doubters wrong.

Burke is playing a 4-4-2 formation that is set up to Counter Attack, Alot like Traptoni's old tactic. No big surprise's in the team line-up but their is a Debut's for Wigan Midfielder James McCarthy and Porstmouth Defender Marc Wilson. Also Andy Reid is back part of the team after that Hotel incident with Traptoni had him exiled from the International Setup.

First Half: A very nervous opening half from both teams as their was not many shots on target to trouble the keeper's, Hopefully better Second Half.

Half Time: 7 Changes to the squad, Notably Wes Hoolahan's 2nd Cap and Clinton Morrison on the pitch again for Ireland

Second Half: 5 min's in and Keith Andrews only on from the Bench belts in a screamer from 30 yards as Thomond Park goes crazy, Great start to the second half, COME ON IRELAND. Next 25 min's constant pressure from Australia as Ireland look to sit back and secure the win. 13 mins to go and a corner in and Ireland's defence is finally undone, Daniel Trim rises above the rest and scores with a placed header. The last 15 min's die out as neither team wants to lose the game now.

Match Verdict : A good start for Burke with a good hard fought draw against a tough Australia team, Next for Burke , Cyprus in World Cup Qualifer's.

Ye was shocked when some of them names applied for the job,
And will have look now mate.
 
unlucky against Australia mate.It is hard with a home nation other than England of course|)
